Part 9 ~ A Father's Daughter

With his wet hair falling into his face, Robert quickly donned his robe and rushed to the door. He wanted to spend more time with Kelly before she had to go to work. A nice warm playful sexy shower was what he had in mind. He would get rid of this intruder and get back to Kelly as soon as possible. Snatching open the door, he barked "This better be good."

"Dad!" Robin's voice was startled, but once she saw his wet hair and disheveled appearance, she let out a giggle.

"I'm sorry," Lulu apologized quickly as she noticed Robert's annoyed expression. "I asked Robin where you were staying. I was hoping that you could help me with my dad."

"Has something happened to Luke?" Robert worried as he stepped aside.

"No, not really. I was hoping that you would help me persuade my dad to move back into the Quartermaine estate. All of that drinking and smoking is not good for him." As Lulu and Robin walked to the couch, they saw a woman's coat on the armchair and matching high heel shoes discarded next to the mini bar. "I didn't realize that you had company," Lulu stammered.

"Ahh, yes," Robert answered.

"Well, I can come back later."

"No," Robert stated as Lulu moved to leave the room. "Just give me a minute, and I'll meet you downstairs in the lobby." He hugged Lulu quickly. "Everything will be all right. You'll see."

Lulu felt as if a burden had been lifted off of her shoulders. She knew she would be able to count on Robert. After giving him a smile, she started to make her way toward the elevator. Looking over at Robin, Lulu noticed her disapproving expression. "I'll just wait in the lobby," Lulu confirmed. "Thanks for driving me here, Robin," she added as she made her way into the hallway.

As soon as Lulu was away from the door, Robin turned to her father. "Aren't you supposed to be resting."

"I am. If you need to know, I've haven't felt this good in a long time."

"Yeah, I can imagine," she said sarcastically. "However, I'm sure that this is not what the doctor ordered."

"Actually, the doctor told me that I was free to continue with my normal activities. Enjoying the company of a beautiful woman is part of my normal activity."

Robin shook her head slowly. "You're a grown man..."

"Yes, I am," Robert interrupted, "and as a grown man and your father, I know what's best for me."

Robin threw up her hands in surrender. "Fine. I just don't want......" her voice trailed off as she watched Kelly rush out of the bedroom.

"Hey, Robin," Kelly said as she slipped her feet into the high-heeled shoes "I really have to go. Call me later?" She said to Robert before kissing him on the cheek. Smiling at Robin, she grabbed her coat and rushed out of the door.

Too stunned to speak, Robin stood there frozen. By the time she was able to gather her wits, Robert was already headed to the shower. "Close the door behind you, sweetheart, and tell Lulu I'll be right down."

As Robin walked across the lobby toward the parking lot, she forgot all about Lulu. After watching her father struggle through his cancer treatments, she had no intentions of watching her father struggle through a broken heart.
