Part 7 ~ Remove

Lucky opened up another bottle of beer. Whoever was at the door would have to go away. He sat silently in the basement. After the fifth time, the doorbell stopped chiming. Good, he thought. He had a lot of work to do. Staring at the pictures, he started to put them in order. He had watched Liz's home for the last few days, and he was sure that he had captured her routine. Her routine was simple: daycare, work and then home. The nanny and Milo might be a problem, and he had to decide when Liz would be the most vulnerable. He had to talk to her, and the only way to do that would be to get her alone, removed from Jason, Milo, the nanny and the kids. Yes, once he talked to her, Lucky was sure that Liz would see things his way.

"What do you mean -- you don't know when he'll be home?" Carly screamed into the phone.

"He said that he was away on business and that he would be home as soon as he could," Liz said calmly.

"I need to speak with him."

"He's not available, Carly," Liz said sweetly. "But when he calls again, I'll give him the message." Without waiting for Carly to answer, Liz hung up the phone. Liz hadn't talked to Jason in days, and she was getting a sinking feeling that something awful was about to happen. After saying a short prayer, she went back to the nurse's station.

Carly threw the phone to the foot of the bed. How dare Liz hang up on her! That little bitch thought she was going to dictate Jason's life, Carly thought. She may be on bed rest, but that didn't mean that she was powerless. With the kids visiting Sonny, Carly could spend all her time plotting Liz's downfall. Liz wasn't good enough for Jason; and as soon as she removed Liz from Jason's life, Carly was sure Jason would see things her way.

Tracy looked at the wedding invitation with disgust. Why did she think that Lucky would be able to stop Liz and Jason's wedding? Realizing that she was the only one trying to preserve the Quartermaine money, Tracy knew she had to do something to remove Liz from Jason's life. Tossing the invitation into the trashcan, Tracy thought of the one person that would be willing to help her. Dialing the phone, Tracy saw her plan taking shape.
