Part 1 ~ Forgotten

Jason leaned against the window frame and watched the rain leave violent streaks against the window. His body ached. It wasn't the old gunshot wounds that verified their existence; instead, it was the fresh wound of losing a sister, a friend. He didn't know what he was doing there. He didn't need or want to remember Emily's death. He still felt connected to her. He could hear her soft laughter and feel her unconditional love. If he knew how, he would let the tears flow. Instead, the tears were dammed behind closed emotions and grief; at home with the tears for his grandmother, AJ and Alan.

He closed his eyes and thought of his sister. She was the one to convince him to admit his feelings for Elizabeth. He would love Emily for bringing Elizabeth into his life. Yes, he needed to be here, if only to support Nicholas as Emily supported him.

He heard the door open and as he turned, he was surprised by the sheer fear radiating from Nikolas's face. It finally dawned on Jason that this was not some indulgence or fad for Nikolas, Nikolas was truly plagued by these "memories."

"Nikolas, please make yourself comfortable," she said as she followed him into the room. Nik nodded and sat in the overstuffed corner chair.

She turned to Jason and said softly, "Are you ready?"

He swallowed quickly and nodded.

She smiled faintly and stepped back to sit next to Nikolas. Looking at both men, she said, "Let's see if we can find any forgotten memories."

Luke looked at the wheelchair with contempt. He had been discharged four hours ago. He had expected Tracy to pick him up. Even if Tracy was stuck in traffic, where was Lulu or Lucky? Four hours had gone by without a phone call from anyone. His pride wouldn't let him call Monica or Bobbie.

"All packed up with nowhere to go?"

Luke recognized the voice of a faithful friend. Although he had won the battle with cancer, Robert looked great with his low cut hair. Dressed in jeans and a yellow polo shirt, Robert looked like he stepped out of an Aussie magazine.

"Seems as if I've been forgotten" Luke answered.

"You? Forgotten?" Robert faked being insulted "Never!"

"Dear friend of mine," Luke asked, "Could you take me home?"

"Of course."

As Luke walked over to the discharging wheelchair, he added quickly, "Maybe we can stop at the Haunted Star. Catch up on old times?"

Robert laughed gently as he wheeled Luke out of the room. He had a lot to tell.
