"Murder, Marriage, and Mayhem"
Part 9 ~ Man and Wife... and Guest

"I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

The crowd cheered as Mac leaned in to give Alexis a kiss. Robin couldn't help but shed a few tears of happiness. It was such a simple and elegant wedding. Maxie used her fashion connections to turn Mac's house into an exclusive wedding gala. White orchids were placed in every corner of the house and huge vanilla scented flameless candles were housed on champagne colored pedestals that stood on each side of any door or entranceway. Champagne colored bows dressed up the dining room chairs and the table setting consisted of gold rimmed white china. Brunch was catered by one of the best restaurants in New York and while the guests ate, a lone violinist played softly.

Robin had never seen Mac so happy or Maxie so nervous. Mac refused to have Spinelli at the wedding, so Maxie took it upon herself to ensure that Georgie was comfortable. When Maxie wasn't at Georgie's side, she was busy checking her cell phone for messages. During those times of Maxie's absence, Georgie seemed to withdraw from the rest of the room. There were even times, when Robin noticed, that Georgie would scan the room looking for Maxie's face. Even though Georgie still hasn't uttered a word, Robin could see the bond between the sisters was getting stronger.

It was late afternoon when Robin and Patrick decided to leave. They had to drop Emma back home with the nanny before showering, changing and heading out to another wedding. In between gathering Emma's things, Patrick and Robin said their goodbyes, planting kisses on the cheeks of the bride and groom. As Patrick opened the front door, a familiar family friend stood on the porch. Catching Robin's stunned look, he smiled and said sweetly "Am I too late for cake?" 

Rushing past a stunned Robin and Patrick, Maxie beamed loudly, "You are right on time Dillon. Come in. I have someone I want you to meet." Smiling openly, Maxie added, "Again."
