Part 6 ~ Last Option

"I can't believe that you are sitting here while my father is at the Haunted Star drinking and smoking his life away."

Tracy continued to jot down notes on the EQ document she was reviewing. There was a time when Lulu's whining would have garnished a reaction from her, but now Tracy had bigger issues to handle. Arguing with Lulu was not on her list of priorities.

"Your father is a grown man," Tracy said dryly.

"Have you been to see him? He's been out of the hospital for over a week already."

Looking up from her papers, Tracy looked Lulu in the eyes. "Your father knows that if he comes here, he'll have to leave the smoking and drinking behind. I will not watch him kill himself," Tracy paused. "Please don't ask me to do that."

The room grew silent as Lulu became lost in her thoughts. She couldn't ask Tracy to bring Luke into her house if he was hell-bent on continuing his destructive behavior.

"Could you talk to him?" Lulu asked.

"I could but what good would that do? I'm just the nagging wife, remember?" Tracy said bitterly. Turning back to her papers, she added, "Maybe you and Lucky can give your father a reason to live. It is obvious that your father has his own agenda that doesn't include me."

There was nothing else for Lulu to say. It was clear that Tracy had given up on Luke. As she opened the door to leave, Lulu realized that there were precious few people in Port Charles that really cared about her father. She was determined that one of them would help her.

"I am sorry, Ms. Lulu. Sir Nikolas is out of town and didn't leave a date for his return," Alfred said politely.

Smiling weakly, Lulu walked slowly back to the ferry. Maybe Lucky could help her, she thought.

Lulu rang the doorbell for the fifth time. Despite his car in the driveway, the house was eerily dark and quiet. Maybe Lucky is at work, Lulu thought as she made her way to the PCPD.

"I'm sorry, Lulu" Mac stated. "Lucky took the next two weeks off. If he checks in, I'll tell him you were looking for him."

"Thanks, Mac," Lulu said softly. She had one more place to go; if this didn't pan out, she would be out of options.

"Lulu!" Robin said.

"Hi, I was looking for your father. I need to speak with him."

"He's not here." Robin informed her. "He's staying at the Metro Court during his recovery."

"Great. What room is he in? I really need him to help me get my dad on the right track."

Robin nodded her head in understanding. "You look stressed. Why don't I drive you downtown? I know how much my father loves your dad. I'm sure he'll do anything to help."

"Thank you," Lulu said wearily. "Robert is my last option."
