"Days of Our Lives" will be preempted on Thursday & Friday, July 2 & 3, so NBC can air the 2009 Tennis Championships from Wimbledon, England.

The 36th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards nominations were announced on Thursday, May 14. The award show will be hosted by Vanessa Williams on the CW network on Sunday, August 30, 2009, at 8 p.m., from the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.

NEW! Former "Days" head writer Michelle Poteet Lisanti has returned to "Days of Our Lives" as a staff writer, effective immediately. Her first episode aired on Thursday, June 11. Poteet Lisanti was head writer along with current co-executive producer Gary Tomlin from October 1980-October 1981. She was later a staff writer with "Days" from 1987-1994. She has been nominated six times for Daytime Emmys, winning once for her work on "One Life to Live" in 2008. In her new role at "Days", she will be writing breakdowns of the storylines featured in one or two episodes each week.

NEW! Arianne Zucker (Nicole) and her husband Kyle Lowder (ex-Brady) are expecting their first child in December. The couple have been married since 2002. The pregnancy will not be written into the show.

Days got good news for the Emmys. Peter Reckell (Bo) was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor. Tamara Braun (ex-Ava) was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Blake Berris (ex-Nick) and Darrin Brooks (Max) were nominated for Outstanding Younger Actor. Rachel Melvin (ex-Chelsea) was nominated for Outstanding Younger Actress. Days of Our Lives was also nominated for Outstanding Show as well as other nominations.

Former Days star Lisa Rinna (ex-Billie) is posing for Playboy. Her spread will be out in May.

Former Days star Camilla Scott (ex-Melissa) has a new business. She is involved in the beauty business. She will be involved with the new skin care line called Arbonne. It is available at her website http://camillascott.myarbonne.ca

Wayne Heffley, remembered by Days Of Our Lives fans as Vern Scoffield, Jack's stepfather and mentor at the Salem Spectator, died of kidney failure on November 19, 2008.
