NBC's Days of Our Lives premiered on November 8, 1965, set in the fictitious
Midwestern town of Salem.
NEW! Great news for Days fans! Starting November 30,
2009, SOAPnet will be airing "Days Of Our Lives" twice a day: at 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. (EST)
According to reports, Lisa Rinna (ex-Billie) is closing her
boutique "Belle Gray." This is the quote that reveals some
details of what happened with Lisa Rinna's boutique: "Lisa Rinna, a
television host and actress, closed the Calabasas, CA, location of her Belle
Gray boutique chain on Oct. 1. On Oct. 22, her former landlords, The Commons
at Calabasas LLC, filed a lawsuit against her in Los Angeles County Superior
Court for breach of contract. The Commons at Calabasas retail center is
owned by Rick Caruso, who developed the popular The Grove retail center in
Los Angeles."
The "Days Of Our Lives" family lost a member. There
is some sad new to report. Sue Rihr (ex-Madeline Rutherford) passed
away on October 26, 2009. She died of lung cancer at 55 years old. She played Eugene Bradford's wife from January to June, 1985. Sue Rihr was
also on "Roseanne", "Moonlighting," "Perfect
Strangers," "Beverly Hills 90210," as well as other guest
roles. Sue Rihr had a difficult life. She had a kidney transplant
and also lost members of her family (her father, sister, and her
husband). In spite of the obstacles she faced, she tried to overcome
them. She wrote a one-woman autobiography called "Blood Sugar" about
her hardships. She also devoted time to writing poetry.
According to TV Guide's Nelson Branco, "Days of Our Lives" could be getting renewed
really soon. There are reports that NBC is really happy with the ratings of
the show. Days Of Our Lives is guaranteed to be on the air until 2011, but it may stay
on longer if the ratings continue to rise. We'll keep you updated on this
story.
Congratulations to Tamara Braun (Ava) who won as
Outstanding Supporting Actress and Darin Brooks (Max) as Outstanding
Younger Actor at the Daytime Emmy Awards held in LA on
August 30, 2009.
Roark Critchlow (ex-Mike) produced and starred in an
internet soap called "Deception" distributed by Warner Brothers Online.
"Deception" blends a sardonic slant with the traditional soap opera format.
A subtle satire that only a veteran of the genre can bring. Interlacing
self-effacing humor with an intriguing storyline of lust, greed and murder,
Deception breaks new ground in the world of soap operas.
