Part 9 ~ Final Plans

Carly stepped back and took a glance at Sonny's living room. She smiled as she surveyed her work. The new area rug and throw pillows gave life to an otherwise dark and ominous room. All she had to do now was open the windows for some fresh air. Within the next hour the room will be up to par, just in time for Sonny's arrival.

"Mrs. C," Max announced "You have a visitor."

Expecting Jason to enter, Carly turned her smile toward the living room entrance. "What are you doing here?" she hissed as Tracy walked through the door.

Carrying a large vase of daisies, Tracy walked over to Sonny's desk. Carelessly, she placed the flower arrangement on his desk, splashing the water onto the polished mahogany surface.

"You shouldn't be here," Carly scowled. "If Sonny sees us, he'll get suspicious."

"Nonsense. I'm just here to welcome back one of the Haunted Star's best patrons. Besides," she turned to Carly sharply, "You haven't been returning my phone calls."

"I've been busy," Carly reminded her. "Plus, there are some things that shouldn't be said over the phone."

"Which is exactly why I'm here," Tracy confirmed. "I'm going to need at least 30 minutes to complete my tasks. How am I going to know when Jason and Liz arrive to your dinner party?"

"I'll call the Quartermaine house and invite Luke to the dinner. Just make sure you're nearby to hear the call."

Tracy thought about it and decided that it was as good a plan as any. In truth, she wasn't in any position to argue. This might be her only chance to make sure that the wedding never takes place.

"What exactly are you going to do?" Carly quizzed.

"Some things are better left unspoken," Tracey said as she walked out of the room. In two days, this entire event will be handled, and she can go back to counting her millions.
