Part 4 ~ Puzzle Pieces

"It's about time." Carly whispered angrily as Jason and Liz entered the foyer. "We've been waiting over an hour. What took you so long?"

At Carly's question, Liz blushed and walked quickly into Sonny's living room. Not missing the clue, Carly turned to Jason in disbelief. "Really??? You couldn't wait until you got home tonight?"

Smiling, Jason reached out to hug Carly. "I'm sorry. We're here now. Why don't we go in and get this started?" Giving a crooked smile, Carly hugged him back just as his cell phone rang.

"Oh, no!" she hissed. "Don't even answer it."

"It's just the babysitter," Jason said trying to mask his concern. "Go in and get dinner started. I'll be right there."

"Promise?"

"Promise," he assured her as he put the phone to his ear. He watched Carly usher the dinner guests in the dining room before he spoke. "English, what's happened?" He listened carefully before whispering, "Keep an eye on her until Milo gets her car fixed. Have Milo follow her home and sit outside the Quartermaine house to make she doesn't leave again. Make a list of everything that was in Liz's medicine cabinet and then discard all of those items. We can replace them tomorrow."

English repeated the instructions perfectly then Jason added quickly, "and tell my aunt to be expecting a visit from me soon."

"Jason, is something wrong?" Carly asked as she walked back into the foyer.

"No, nothing important," Jason lied as he let Carly lead him to the dinner table.

He knew that Tracy wasn't happy about him marrying Liz, but he never expected her to do something so underhanded. He was missing a piece of the puzzle. Tracy was never one to shy away from conflict, so why the plotting? If Tracy meant to harm Liz, he needed to know. He finally had the life he didn't deserve and no one was going to take that away. Not even family.
