"Warm Spring Nights"
Part 4 ~ Right?

Wrapped in the white Metro Court robe, Jason
sat comfortably at the small table. Pushing aside his remaining bits of the
egg-white omelet, Jason watched Liz finish her French toast. She was just as
beautiful in the morning as she was at night, he thought. Once they were
married, he was going to bring her here once a week, at least. He watched
the Maple syrup drip onto her robe as she took the last bite of her
breakfast.
"I see you've worked up an appetite." Jason
teased.
Smiling, she wiped Maple syrup from her chin.
"It wasn't like you gave me a chance to eat." She reminded him.
Now it was his turn to blush. He nodded
silently and took a sip of his pomegranate juice. When he got home, he would
have to remember to call Carly and thank her for the wonderful breakfast.
They were an odd pair: Carly and he, but they were the best of friends.
Jason knew that if he could depend on one person, it was Carly. He never
asked Carly to be his best man, but he would correct that mistake after the
weekend. He loved Carly in a weird sisterly way. God knows that they had
been through so much together. There was no reason why she shouldn't share
his happiest day with him. He thought that she would scream once she heard
that he was marrying Liz. Maybe Jax was rubbing off on her. He smiled to
himself. He drew his attention to Liz as she stood up and untied her
bathrobe.
Seeing her naked form, Jason forgot his
previous thoughts. As she stood there naked before him, Jason's thought
turned passionate. They spent the rest of the morning and afternoon making
silent promises with their mouth and bodies. In the heat of passion, they
forgot to tell each other the important details.
Liz forgot to mention to Jason that she never
told Lucky that they were engaged, and Jason never told Liz about being in
the room when Nic was being hypnotized.
There was plenty of time to talk about that.
Right?
"Maxie," Jax exclaimed as he saw her dressed
in the same outfit that she had on a day ago. "Did you even take a break to
go home and change?"
"Oh," she proclaimed, "I went out last night
and I wanted to stop by this morning to get the key to the hotel room you
offered me."
"Oh yes," Jax remembered as he took the
passkey out of his top drawer. "I reserved room 243 for you to use when you
are working late. I reserved the room for six months, so feel free to make
yourself at home."
Taking the passkey from Jax's hand, Maxie
said, "You won't be sorry Jax. I'll make you and Kate proud."
He watched Maxie walk out of his office. For
an instant, he felt nauseous. Maxie was the right choice, wasn't she? There
wasn't any other option. Right?
