"Spring Flowers"
Part 11 ~ Instant
by Kimberly 3/7/09
Milo seethed as he walked behind Max and English. Jason had given them
strict instructions to escort English around Port Charles and
familiarize her with the warehouses, as well as the organization's other
property holdings. After this tour, they had to spend the rest of the
day trying to find her an apartment. As Max and English paused to
discuss the shipping lanes, Milo leaned against the brick wall.
Recalling his conversation with Jason the night before, Milo still
thought that this was a bad plan. Jason tried to reassure him that his
talent was needed at the coffeehouse or warehouse and that it made more
sense to assign a woman bodyguard to Liz and the kids. Milo didn't doubt
that Jason's intentions were good, but he knew that the decision to
switch bodyguards stemmed from one thing, jealousy. Oh sure, Milo
thought, Jason is still physically fit, but let's face it. Jason is
getting older. Instead of action, Jason wants to sit, think, discuss and
plan. Milo huffed to himself. Liz needed someone who was able to react
on a moment's notice. Danger doesn't allow you time to strategize, Milo
thought.
As Max turned to face Milo, he said "I think we're done here. Let's
head over to meet the real estate rep."
Milo shrugged in acknowledgement. As they walked
past him towards
the car, Milo studied English's curvaceous frame. There was no doubt
that she took great care of her body, but Milo wasn't impressed. He knew
if he had to, he could snap her neck in an instant.
English knew that Milo was watching her. She also knew that Milo was
pissed about being replaced. She would give him some time to cool down.
But if he maintained an attitude for much longer, she was prepared to
approach him directly. She knew that if she had to, she could snap his
neck in an instant.
"I'm coming," Carly shouted as she heard the constant ringing of the
doorbell. As she opened the door, she saw Jax struggling to hold a
bottle, a pizza pie, and several different bags.
"Oh my goodness," Carly laughed openly "What are you up to?"
"Thought I'd surprise you with lunch. Didn't know what you wanted so I
picked up a little of everything." He walked over to the dining room
table. "Let's see, we have pizza, a grilled chicken Caesar salad from
Kelly's, wings from Jake's, cheesecake from the Metro Court and..." he
held up the bottle, "sparkling apple cider."
"Have I told you lately how much I love you?" Carly said as walked over
to the table.
"Nope." Placing the bottle on the table, Jax grabbed her around her
waist and pulled her towards him. He planted a tiny kiss on her cheek
and then left a trail of kisses down to the base of her neck.
"Why do I have the feeling that you came home for more than just
lunch?" Carly quipped as she felt her pulse quicken.
"Well I figured the kids are in school, and I'd better get as much
private time with you as I can before the baby arrives."
"Sounds good," she said as she nibbled on his lower lip, "but you know
what sounds even better?"
"Hmmm?" Jax was distracted and desperately wanted to end the
conversation and move on to more interesting activities.
"Sending the boys to see Sonny for spring break. That gives us about 8
days of alone time."
Jax tilted his head back to see her face. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, Michael has been such a brat lately. Although he won't admit it,
he misses Sonny. I think it would be good for both Michael and Morgan to
see Sonny. Maybe it will be good for Sonny too."
"Did you discuss this with Sonny first?"
"No. I wanted to get your thoughts first," she said as she unbuttoned
his crisp white dress shirt.
For Carly to put Jax's feelings first was a big step in their
relationship. If Jax had any lingering doubts about their marriage, in
an instant they were gone.
"Sounds good." Now it was his turn to nibble on her lips. "If Sonny
agrees, I'll reserve the jet for those days." He pulled back slightly.
"Maybe you want to call Sonny now."
She shook her head, letting her hair fall wildly about her face. "I've
got some other things to take care of first," she said as she loosened
his belt.
Carly watched Jax step out of his clothes. In that instant she realized
two things. She loved being loved, and she loved being loved by him.
