Today!!

Today I might die,
But I won't have lived in a cage.
Today I might be battered,
But I won't have been ashamed.
Today I might be disowned,
But I won't have been scared.
Today I know my pride,
But I will remember those who aren't.
Today I have love,
But I will not forget that not everyone does.
Today and everyday,
I am gay.
I am queer, I am here.
I am proud.
