Emily
Alyn Lind (pic at right) has been cast as Emma Lavery, Ryan & Annie's sweet
little girl. Emily has already taped three episodes and will appear in Pine
Valley very soon.
Also, Tate Berney (pic on left) is now playing Little Adam,
who will be called A.J. on the show. Look for him to begin airing on
Tuesday, February 16.
The last of AMC’s New York-shot material aired on Monday,
February 1. Make sure to tune in to see the refurbished, HD-shot Pine Valley
now.
On Friday, January 22, 2010, James Mitchell, who played
Palmer Cortlandt for 30 years, passed away in Los Angeles from Chronic
Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, complicated by pneumonia. He would have
turned 90 on February 29. The show will air a moving tribute to Mr. Mitchell
in the spring.
Four stars of AMC will appear in the March issue of "Los
Angeles Magazine" in a special 8-page spread wearing the hottest spring
fashions. Susan Lucci (Erica), Cameron Mathison (Ryan), Rebecca Budig
(Greenlee), and Denise Vasi (Randi) posed behind the scenes at the new AMC
L.A. set.

Agnes Nixon, the creator of both OLTL and AMC has created a brand new
website for soap fans called "The Real World of Make Believe"
where you can learn more about this most talented creator and writer, view
wonderful photographs and videos from her past and the shows, including OLTL's 40th
anniversary special.
AMC will feature two Los Angeles politicians playing
themselves to celebrate the show's move to California. Mayor Antonio
Villaraigosa and City Council President Eric Garcetti will both shoot
episodes at the show's new production studio near downtown Los Angeles in
January. Villaraigosa will shoot a scene with Susan Lucci, who plays Erica
Kane. Writers are still trying to figure out a plot twist that puts the
mayor in the fictional city of Pine Valley, PA. Garcetti will appear with
actor David Canary, discussing making Adam Chandler's businesses "more
environmentally friendly."
Congratulations to AMC's Casey Childs on his nomination for
the 62nd Directors Guild of America Awards for his work on Episode #10,061,
which aired on 2/16/09, when Greenlee's motorcycle went off the cliff. On
Saturday, January 30, 2010, the winner was announced: Christopher Goutman for his work on "As The
World Turns."
Cady McClain will return as Dixie Martin in early March for
just one week in a story with Tad. After stints from 1988-1996, 1998-2002, and
2005-2007, Dixie was murdered by a serial killer. Cady returned in ghost
form in May 2008.
David Kreizman
and Donna Swajeski are the new co-head writers of AMC. Their
start dates are to be announced. David was with "Guiding Light" from 1995 to
its cancellation in 2009 when he became co-headwriter of "As the World
Turns." Donna has written for "Another World" (1988-92), "Port Charles"
(2001-03), "Guiding Light" (1999-2001; 2003-2008), and "The Bold and The
Beautiful" (9/09 - present).

Alexander, Benjamin and Caleb Eckstein (Spike Lavery), Alexa Gerasimovich
(Kathy Martin), Lucy Merriam (Emma Lavery), David and Damian Paseler (Baby
Stuart), Rory and Declan McTigue (Little Adam Chandler), Aiden and Connor
Sharpe (Trevor Dillon), Rachel and Jessica Slomovitz (Jenny Martin) have all
taped their last episodes with the show. All the roles will be recast with
California girls and boys.
Julia Barr (61) brings Brooke back to Pine Valley on February 23
through "a great story arc" though producers at AMC won’t state for how long.
She suddenly disappeared 3 years ago after refusing to drop down to “recurring”
status. Apparently, Brooke has been
living in China with adopted daughter Laura.

Alicia Minshew (Kendall) and husband Richie Herschenfeld
welcomed daughter Willow Lenora Herschenfeld at 6:42 a.m. on November 4,
2009. The baby weighed 5 lbs. 2 oz. Her middle name honors Minshew's mother,
Lenore.
All My Children's Cameron Mathison stars as Dr. Dan in
Procter & Gamble's new web soap "Brighten Bay," a colorful community with
on-going drama between its neighbors, including: Nurse Nancy, Sandy, and
David. Tune in to watch the drama unfold as Dr. Dan goes head-to-head with
David in battles involving love, lies and heartbreak. On the interactive
website, www.BrightenBay.com,
viewers can join the community and follow along closely as the plot thickens
surrounding Dr.. Dan, the bright spot in a dirty world. Visitors to the site
will also have access to sweepstakes, soap opera trivia, and other games and
activities featured on the Brighten Bay Facebook fan page and the Brighten
Bay YouTube channel.
Andrita Media Center will provide HD production facilities
and services for "All My Children" beginning in January of 2010. The first
HD episodes will air in February. Included in the long-term agreement, AMC
will use Andrita Stage 1
(18,000 square feet), Andrita Stage 2 (10,000 square feet), multi-camera HD
production facilities, and associated production offices located at
3030 Andrita Street in the
Glendale area of Los Angeles. ABC shot "General Hospital: Night Shift 2"
at Andrita in 2008.
Congratulations to Vincent Irizarry (David, AMC) and Jeff
Branson (Shayne, GL; ex-Jonathan, AMC) who tied for Best Supporting Actor at
the Daytime Emmy Awards held in LA on August 30, 2009.
On August 29, 2009, AMC won the following Daytime Creative
Arts Emmy Awards: Outstanding Achievement in Scenic Design, Lighting
Direction, Live & Direct to Tape Sound Mixing, Tie in Technical Direction.

ABC is moving the AMC production studios from New York City
to LA after almost 40 years in the Big Apple. OLTL will get AMC's former
space, in order to give "both shows facility updates and streamlined
production models." The last taping date in NYC is Friday, December 11. AMC
will begin taping in LA at the beginning of January and airing in HD in
February. Production will be cheaper in LA where they will have two stages
and can build permanent sets that don't have to be broken down every day.
