What's new with the show!

  • The show has been canceled :(
  • According to designntrend.com, "Castle" co-showrunners Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley are both hopeful that the once hit ABC series will be renewed for another season.
Many ABC shows were renewed ahead of time last week (March 3), but not "Castle." ABC may be waiting to see how it does this Spring.
  • NATHAN FILLION FANS!!! From tvshowsondvd.com: Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place - SCOOP: Shout! Factory to Release DVDs of this 90s Sitcom!
Ryan Reynolds starred, and was joined in Season 2 by Nathan Fillion
The popular 90s sitcom that launched the career of movie star Ryan Reynolds (The Proposal, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), with his standout role as "Michael Berg Bergen." Alongside Richard Ruccolo ("Pete") and Traylor Howard ("Sharon"), Reynolds plays one of three college graduates and best friends trying to come to terms with life after college, battling newfound responsibilities and failed relationships along the way. The show added regular cast members "Johnny" (played by Firefly's Nathan Fillion) and "Ashley" (Suzanne Cryer) in the second season, and it went on to become a brilliant mix of comedy and drama...with just a spot of insanity!
With Deadpool having passed $600 million worldwide at the box office (and almost half of that in the USA alone), it's no surprise that fans of hot film star Ryan Reynolds are eager to go back to his acting roots...especially the TV show that helped him become a Hollywood star! Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place is the third-most-wanted show by our readers that is unreleased on DVD in North America.
The show launched on TV as "Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place in 1998, went under that title for two seasons. Then, for the sitcom's final two seasons, the title was shortened to just "Two Guys and a Girl." The first season's cast included David Ogden Stiers (M*A*S*H), and Tiffani Thiessen (Saved By the Bell, Beverly Hills 90210, White Collar) had a recurring role in eight episodes of the show's run. Other guests over time included Carmen Electra, Jon Cryer, Anthony Head, Kathy Kinney (crossing over in a cameo as "Mimi" from The Drew Carey Show), Fred Willard, Adam Carolla (as himself), Conchata Ferrell, and the music groups Blink-182 and Barenaked Ladies, among others.
All four seasons came out overseas about 3-4 years ago, but there have been no DVD releases at all in the United States, or in Canada. Now Shout! Factory has given us the scoop that they've recently licensed the home video rights from Fox to this in-demand show, and are at last bringing it to DVD in stores! You'll see it come out sometime during Summer 2016. A specific date hasn't been finalized yet, nor is there package art or any other details so far. Just the heads-up that this is finally in-the-works! Stay tuned, of course, and we'll update you as further developments occur.

  • from tvshowsondvd: “CASTLE” (Season 8) When viewers first met Richard Castle, a famous mystery novelist, he was creatively blocked. But when the NYPD questioned him in connection with a series of murders staged to imitate crime scenes from his books, Castle found inspiration in NYPD Detective Kate Beckett. Once that initial case was solved, Castle and Beckett continued to investigate strange homicides in New York, combining Castle’s writer intuition and Beckett’s creative detective work. In the Season 7 finale, Castle revealed some of his backstory for becoming a mystery writer, while Beckett was faced with a choice about her future — will she choose to pursue a new challenge or stay where she is?
“Castle” stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan, Penny Johnson Jerald as NYPD Captain Victoria Gates, Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle with Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers.
Executive producers are Terence Paul Winter, Alexi Hawley, Rob Bowman, Rob Hanning and Armyan Bernstein. “Castle” is produced by ABC Studios.

    From tvshowsondvd.com 5/11/2015
We're still waiting on the official announcement from Disney/ABC Studios, but in the meantime this past weekend Amazon.ca - the Canadian branch of the big e-tailer - began showing a pre-order listing for Castle - The Complete 7th Season on DVD. According to that entry, the title will be for sale starting September 1st, at CA$56.99 SRP. The USA branch, Amazon.com, also has a listing as well, but it's NOT accepting pre-orders there at the time of this writing.
