What Monica Watches 12/16/08

Last year I spent the fall season in England, so I missed out on a bunch of shows.

As a result, I decided to give a lot of series a good strong chance this year.  Only one really stuck with me this time.  It was Life.  I find it quirky and yet it has a good detective plot to boot week after week.

On occasion I still watch Without a Trace and Cold Case.

That said, my TV watching tends to lean more toward British mysteries.  I'm  a HUGE fan of Midsomer Murders.  I have been for a number of years, but the new guy (Jason Hughes, who has been on the show since 2005) is really nice on the eyes, plus the character is terrific.

The series used to run on the Biography Channel (and previously on A&E), but they took it off about a year ago.  So I have to resort to DVDs to get my Midsomer fix, while new episodes continue to air in other parts of the world.

Primeval is also a great show.  That's been airing on BBC America.

I used to watch Hustle, which aired on AMC, but they haven't done anything with that show in over a year.

I like Australian shows as well, including a series called Blackjack.

So that's my tastes in a nutshell.
