In tonight's show 10/3, Gregory House is in prison. He meets a beautiful young doctor that is working there. She is clearly intrigued by him. We learn gradually that House purposely didn't get a lawyer when he went to court for what he did last year (driving into Cuddy's house), so he got a harsher punishment, which is what he wanted. He's still on Vicodin, but he's having to give some of it to a powerful guy in prison, who's head of a Nazi gang.  Another convict takes ill, and House thinks it's lupus at first (of course!), but then he takes an interest when it turns out not to be lupus once again.  The young doctor helps him. House has a big, seemingly-stupid cellmate.  House gets parole but is warned to be good for the next week.  When the Nazi gang leader finds out that House is getting out of prison soon, he wants more Vicodin than usual from House. House steals it from the clinic, but then later, he decides not to give it to the Nazi gang leader. His big cell mate saves him from getting killed, and that starts a big fight in the prison. House does some of his usual unorthodox treatment on the patient, and he ends up getting solitary.

From Entertainment Weekly: At the end of season 7, House (Hugh Laurie) drove his car into Cuddy's (Lisa Edelstein) home and left the place in shambles. When Edelstein unexpectedly announced her exit from the show in May, exec producer David Shore was left with an equally danting cleanup task. But in tackling the challenge of a Cuddy-less House, Shore says he found a chance to return the show to its roots this season, which starts with a one-year time jump. "We wanted the moment we ended on last year to settle down in everybody's mind and see how their lives moved on and see if House can get back in those lives," Shore explains. The first episode finds House several months into a prison sentence, but eventually back at Princeton-Plainsboro, back in the throes of his addiction, and at the mercy of the hospital's new dean of medicine as part of the deal that got him out on parole. While all that sounds heavy, Laurie says viewers will get more than a glimpse of the old fun House. "He's a character who suffers angst and great physical and emotional pain," says Laurie. "But he has, at the same time, a sense of joy and mischief and devilry." 10/3.

Meanwhile, Cuddy is honored with an award and needs House to be at the charity event for support, but his attendance is threatened when his patient's battle to survive forces him to question his practice and his own happiness, and Chase (Jesse Spencer) and Masters teach each other a lesson in forging meaningful personal and professional relationships.

Meanwhile, Taub's ex-wife Rachel puts him in contact with her brother who hires Taub to work a job on the side in exchange for much needed income, which winds up taking a physical and emotional toll on him. Later, Cuddy places her trust in House to ensure that her mother receives the proper medical treatment, leading "by the book" medical student Masters to re-evaluate her responsibility to practice within a code of ethics and to follow her boss' orders in the all-new "Family Practice" episode of HOUSE airing Thursday, Feb. 7 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Next week's episode:

"Selfish"

AN IMPOSSIBLE DECISION MUST BE MADE ON AN ALL-NEW “HOUSE”

MON SEPT 27 8/7c

When Della (guest star Stoner), a seemingly healthy and active 14-year-old, suddenly collapses during a skateboarding exhibition, House and his team struggle to diagnose her condition and reassure her parents who already have to cope with their son’s terminal illness. After her body rejects a donor lung, and with time running out to save her life, Della’s family is left with little hope of securing a new donor and faced with a seemingly impossible decision regarding the fate of both children. Meanwhile, House tries to appease an elderly father and his son at the clinic, and House and Cuddy begin to face the challenges of taking their romantic relationship into the workplace in the all-new “Selfish” episode of HOUSE airing Monday, Sept. 27 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

More spoilers: House and Cuddy are smitten with each other, so they have a hard time going back to their normal routine at work. They second-guess their decisions, and each others' reactions to them, so it really messes them up. Of course Wilson suggests to House early on that they should set some ground rules, but House ignores him and instead tries other techniques like avoiding her at work, which don't work. After they get into a screaming match over the case mentioned above, they realize that it was the first honest interaction at work they'd had since they slept together. Cuddy tries to get someone else to supervise House, but no one else can deal with him, so they agree to be brutally honest with each other at work in order to make things work. There is a cute scene where they go to the HR department to tell them that they are sleeping together. House is his usual lewd and obnoxious self.

The rest of the episode is about the medical case and how House's team deals with his news about Cuddy.  Cuddy asks House not to tell anyone until they can get to HR, but of course he tells everyone he meets that he's sleeping with her. Wilson doesn't believe it at first, so Cuddy grabs House's crotch to prove it. Wilson is then stunned but has to believe it.

Foreman is still worried about where Thirteen went, but House says he doesn't care (no one is sure if he is telling the truth or not). Taub is worried throughout the episode about whether House's being happy will affect his judgment. He also wonders why Chase doesn't care about any of it. Chase lets on that he is sleeping with three different women.

The girl who collapses is used to sacrificing for her brother, who is in a wheelchair.  Taub and House think she is being too unselfish and that people in general should be more selfish.  She refuses to let them use her brother's bone marrow, even though it is a fairly routine procedure. After she almost dies several times, they figure out that she lied about her medical history and has been sick for a while. She gets a lung transplant before they figure that out, and she needs another one, so the only option is to use part of her brother's lung, which will probably cut his life even shorter.  She doesn't want to do it, and the parents are torn, but eventually the brothers figures out what's going on and insists they do that.

HOUSE AND CUDDY CALL IN SICK
ON THE SEASON PREMIERE OF “HOUSE”
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, ON FOX
In the aftermath of last season’s emotional finale in which House and Cuddy admitted they had feelings for each other, as Season Seven begins, they are exploring the ramifications of those feelings and attempting to make a real relationship work. Meanwhile, due to a colleague’s illness, Princeton Plainsboro is left without a neurosurgeon on site, threatening the hospital’s accreditation as a Level 1 Trauma Center. As the team attempts treatment to get their sick colleague back to work, they discover there is more to the illness than they originally suspected and turn to House for direction. Instead, House remains elusive, leaving the team on its own in the “Now What?” season premiere episode of HOUSE airing Monday, Sept. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-701) (TV-14 D, L, S)
Cast: Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House; Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy; Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. James Wilson; Omar Epps as Dr. Eric Foreman; Jesse Spencer as Dr. Robert Chase; Peter Jacobson as Dr. Chris Taub; Olivia Wilde as Thirteen/Dr. Remy Hadley
Guest Cast: Chris Connor as Alex; George Wyner as Richardson; Matthew Salinger as Malkin

House and Cuddy have sex (often) and say "I love you" to each other. They both have doubts about whether their relationship will work, but she convinces him that it's worth a try. He thinks that she expects him to change, and he can't, but she tells him that she loves him just the way he is. Thirteen disappears at the end of the episode, which worries Foreman and the others.

Question: When is House going to change its opening title sequence to add Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson? They’ve had the same opening since the beginning. —Anonymous
Ausiello: In spite of your funny name, or perhaps because of it, I asked exec producer Katie Jacobs for you. Her reply: “In season 4, people said, ‘Are you going to change the credits once you decide on who you are adding to the team?’ and I felt like it was awkward to switch in the middle of the season. I could have done it season 5. I certainly didn’t want to change anything [at the start of season 6] because we opened so differently. But now I am thinking about it. I think they should be part of it.” Olivia, Peter, you can send your thank-you notes directly to Anonymous.

Question: Please tell us something about Jennifer Morrison returning to House! —Amy
Ausiello: I should’ve seen it coming! Here’s what Omar Epps told us about JMo’s exit and possible comeback last week at the People’s Choice Awards: “I definitely miss her… I certainly didn’t see it coming. I don’t think anyone did. She is a great person and I’d gotten used to seeing her most days of the year. [But] she is not officially gone. It isn’t like they killed her off. And even if they had, we’ve already had a dead person come back with Amber. So there is still a possibility.” The clues were everywhere!

House: Orlando Jones to Play Foreman's Brother

From tvguide.com
Mickey's Mega Rave: Jennifer Morrison's departure from House was as decisive and high-minded as Cameron herself. Similarly, kudos to the talented actress for handling her dismissal from the show with such grace and honesty. Here's hoping it was all some sort of bad pharmaceutical side effect and she'll be back at Princeton-Plainsboro soon.

Question: The last episode of House was painful to watch for us ‘Huddy’ fans. Please tell me Cuddy will drop the stupid PI and give House a chance? —Heather
Ausiello: Looks like we’re stuck with Lucas at least through early February. If it makes you feel any better, rumors that House’s mental institution lay, Lydia, will be paying a visit to Princeton-Plainsboro are apparently not true. An insider says there are no immediate plans for Franka Potente to return.

House: Hugh Laurie Says Huddy Sex To Take Four and a Half Years
Monday, August 17, 2009

He may mean it as a joke, but for a bunch of Huddy fans on House, it's not funny.

Talking to Entertainment Tonight, House star Hugh Laurie said it will probably take four and a half years for fans to finally figure out whether House and Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein) actually had sex or it was all a figment of his (deranged) imagination. Of course, to us, it's all clear. They didn't have sex, and it was a fake out that was so unfair.

"It will be addressed, but teasingly, and it will probably take four and a half years," Laurie joked, in reference to Huddy sex last season, which was, well, five seasons in the making.

Judging from recent comments and feedback, however, it seems as though a lot of House fans have grown tired of Huddy and just want the old House back - probably a downside of having something sizzle for a long time without a timely release and consummation.

Nevertheless, what we can expect when Fox medical drama House returns on September 21 is House being House, but more "damaged" than usual. "He is pretty much where he was at the end of season five. In this case, the season picks up only a matter of days after season five ended and House is going through a pretty harrowing medical and psychiatric experience."

When House returns, the license of the enigmatic genius doctor is suspended and he is only able to work in a consultant capacity (Omar Epps previously revealed that House will still be acting as the leader of the group, sort of, on season 6). But his stay at the psychiatric facility might actually do something good for his social skills, as he is forced to improve on it.

"He is trying to keep himself in check, curb his acerbic tongue and connect with people in a way he hadn't done previously," Laurie says. "How long it will last remains to be seen. I have my doubts."

'House' Season 6 Spoilers
Thursday, August 13, 2009

With the release of the amazing House season 6 trailers, the internet is abuzz with how highly anticipated this return is. Last we left off, House (Hugh Laurie) hauled himself off to a mental facility to recuperate and perhaps put a handle on all the hallucinations that just punished him toward the end of last season, including the very disappointing Huddy sex fake-out.

En route to its September 21 kick-off, there are fortunately enough spoilers to go around. Read on for some House season 6 spoilers. Needless to say, though, if you want to be caught off-guard during the premiere, stop reading here and do something else.

Right off the bat, the two-hour House premiere will feature House and his asylum mates going on a field trip to an amusement park, with scenes shot on location at Universal Studios. Early on, we know that Tony-winning actor Lin-Manuel Miranda was cast as his asylum roommate for at least two episodes, while James Earl Jones of Luke, I am your father fame will play - get this - an African dictator who becomes a patient back at Princeton-Plainsboro.

Also on the House season 6 spoilers agenda, Robert Sean Leonard has revealed that Wilson's love life just might go a-kicking this season, with his character's romantic prospects "all but nonexistent."

With House being a patient himself, though, what happens to the PP team? Omar Epps said that while his character Foreman is stepping to the plate by virtue of "natural progression," House would still be in charge of his team. His absence, however, will be heavily felt, with everyone "second-guessing themselves."

The season opener will reportedly cover two to three months throughout House's rehabilitation, but House executive producers Katie Jacobs cautioned that "it's not a full-on rehabilitation" because of "a hole in his heart." David Shore, for his part, revealed that the whole season will not take place in the mental institution.

Finally on the House season 6 spoilers list, Lisa Edelstein said she "loved" the way the House showrunners handled the whole sex thing precisely because they haven't done it yet. In essence, she said, the anticipation is still there. "It means they can still have sex," she summed up.

Question: We haven't heard anything new on House for a while. Can you give us something nice and juicy? --Mariel
Ausiello: Not sure if this is juicy but it's definitely nice: I think House and his asylum mates are going on a field trip to an amusement park in the two-hour opener. According to a completely sane insider, the show shot scenes on location at Universal Studios last week. I'm told House was working the Skydiving Fan. Whatever that is.

"House M.D." Season Six Spoilers

• June 10, 2009 - Finale Questions Answered By Ileane Rudolph (Interview with House executive producer David Shore) had these including spoilers:
  • When asked how much of the finale was real, Shore said, "Every scene that House wasn't in was real. But even the stuff that House was in was real—it was just his perception of the lipstick/pills that was distorted. And there was no detox or sex."
  • The interviewer asks if House will really get sober this time and Shore says, "He's certainly going to purse that. We want to treat this seriously and we want to go down that road."
  • When asked why House entered a psychiatric institution "until Kutner's death, on top of Amber's death, he was somehow able to cope with [the Vicodin addiction]. He knows he needs to be locked up somewhere or it's just not going to work. He realizes he has a problem and he has to do something about it. How that will manifest itself is what next season is all about."
  • When asked if House would be back at work at the beginning of next season, Shore says, "We are going to be with House, but it's not going to be at Princeton-Plainsboro. We want to take it through the process that House is going through."
  • Shore is also asked about how the group will function without House. And there is more.
• June 9, 2009 - Since we have not been keeping up as we should, Rachael B sent us these link which had these spoilers:
  • Ausiello Files from June 8, 2009:"House: With production slated to resume next week, House is looking to cast an actress in her early 20s to mid 30s who is proficient at playing the cello. Sounds like a run-of-the-mill patient-of-the-week, right? That's what I thought. But then I read the fine print on the casting notice: Interested parties must be available from June 15 through July 15. (Rumor has it this could be another one of House's fellow cuckoo nesters.)"
  • Ausiello Files from June 4, 2009: "Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda has been cast as House's psych hospital roomie, sources confirm to me exclusively....
"A House insider tells me producers are looking for other "interesting actors" to populate the psychiatric facility that became House's home in last month's finale. So if you're an actor who excels at riding the crazy train, forward this story to your agent ASAP."
• May 20, 2009 - The writers are hard at work on the next season's episodes. Doris Egan (writer of the season finale and many other episodes, Twittered about it.
"Locked in room with Friend, Lerner, Foster, and Blake. Save me before I pitch this as the ST:TOS crossover episode."

Question: You probably get this a lot, but I don't have an agent. I don't have anything. What I do have is previous experience being a patient at Greystone Park State Hospital, the New Jersey psychiatric facility that is doubling as House's temporary home. It would be a true honor to go back there as a quasi-sane person and go play the nut I once was. Think you can tell your insider about me? Everyone's got to get a break somehow, right? --Donna

Ausiello: Answer me this: How are you on the drums? Producers are currently on the prowl for an older actor who "stomps to his own beat" and is a "real percussionist" to play one of House's fellow patients. They're also looking for a young actress who can play the cello if that's a better fit for you. Let me know and I'll see if I can set something up. Given your history, you may have to audition via closed circuit camera from the McDonald's across the street from the studio. It's nothing personal. It's just a safeguard in case you lunge at Katie Jacobs with a hammer. BTW, all of these casting calls have me thinking House is going to form his own loony bin pit band. Hugh Laurie has already established that he can sing as well as play the piano, guitar, harmonica and saxophone. Call me crazy, but I think I'm on to something here.

Exclusive: Meet House's new roommate!

Jun 4, 2009, 09:54 PM | by Michael Ausiello

Categories: House, News

House-casting-news_l Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the first official House scoop of the new season: Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda has been cast as House's psych hospital roomie, sources confirm to me exclusively.

Miranda, best known for writing and starring in the Broadway musical In the Heights, will appear in at least two episodes beginning with the show's sixth season premiere this fall.

A House insider tells me producers are looking for other "interesting actors" to populate the psychiatric facility that became House's home in last month's finale. So if you're an actor who excels at riding the crazy train, forward this story to your agent ASAP.

Ladies and gentlemen, that concludes the first official House scoop of the new season.

Question: Since we didn't get a new House this week, do you have any scoop to hold us over until next week? Morgan
Ausiello: I've got something better -- scoop in the form of a frustrating fun game. Try and guess what House-related question prompted Jesse Spencer to declare, "If there is, I'm done. I'll walk. I'm freaking done." The answer is hidden somewhere in this week's AA. Happy hunting!

Question: I've decided I'll forgive your moving Ask Ausiello to Thursdays on one condition: you provide some new House scoop. Kate
Ausiello: Congratulations all you game-players -- you found it! Here's the question that prompted Jesse Spencer to declare, "If there is, I'm done. I'll walk. I'm freaking done.":

Any plans for a very special episode of House in which Chase and Cameron get married?

Did anyone guess correctly? If so, congrats! You just won exclusive access to the rest of Spencer's quote. "I think [producers] are wary about getting into too much relationship stuff," he says. "It's a procedural show at its core. That's why people like it. That's why I like to watch it... [Besides], how much do people want to see well-adjusted, happy Chameron? Because of David [Shore]'s general disdain for life, you can rest assured that what we won't be doing next season is getting happy. You won’t see Chase and Cameron make a home and have babies and other greeting card stuff."

Question: Hugh Laurie was spotted filming a beach scene in Malibu while wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Do you know if it was a House scene he was shooting? -- Martina
Ausiello: Yes, it was. And if I say anything more than that Katie Jacobs will kabob my kabits.

Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly says that Cameron and Chase's romance will be explored this season. Also, House and Cuddy will move closer to 'hooking up'.

Season 5 promos are up on Youtube here and here.

Ausiello: "They're not getting killed off anytime soon. That's good, right? Meanwhile, I've got great news for House-Cuddy 'shippers: Sources confirm to me exclusively that your favorite couple will finally lock lips in episode 6! And for real! Speaking of House, guess what's on the cover of next week's Entertainment Weekly (on sale Friday). C'mon, have a guess. Nope, not Rules of Engagement. Nope, not According to Jim. Nope, not One Tree Hill. Nope, not the Smurfs. House! House is on the cover of the next EW! To celebrate, first Vicodin's on me!"

September 11, 2008 (1st) - Kristin of eOnline says:
Thirteen (Olivia Wilde) is getting a kickass storyline this year that is also very intense and heart-wrenching. As you know, we found out last season that she has the debilitating genetic disorder Huntington's disease. In the premiere, this will give her a whole new ballsiness and outlook on life, which is pretty cool. We'll also be flashing back to her childhood, when we'll also meet her ill mother, who also suffered and died from the disease.

June 27, 2008 - Exclusive: P.I. Lucas to Be New Love Interest for Cuddy on House
Kristin says about the upcoming story arc, "...Private detective Lucas, has a crush on one Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein)!

"...Lucas (played by Six Feet Under's Michael Weston) is the character being introduced for a multiepisode arc this season to act as a foil for the doctors and possibly be the main character in a House spinoff."

May 29, 2008 - Next week's print edition of TV Guide has House on the cover with the question: "Can Wilson ever forgive House?"
Inside on page 29, it quotes Executive Producer Katie Jacobs as saying, "I don't think their relationship will ever be the same. Wilson... has been cleaning up after the elephant for years. Because House... is so self-absorbed, he relies on Wilson to [fix] his mess. This time it really cost him...."

May 17, 2008 (2nd) David Lomazoff sent us notification of this news item: Ausiello Report - Exclusive: Six Feet Under Alum Ready to Play House?
"Sources confirm to me exclusively that Michael Weston, best known as Michael C. Hall's psychotic pursuer on Six Feet Under, is in advanced talks to appear on House next season in a multi-episode arc that could lead to his own spinoff.

"But, as I reported last week in Ask Ausiello, the actor — also well remembered as Mariska Hargitay's long-lost bro on Law & Order: SVU — won't exactly be scrubbing in next to the show's title crab: He'll be playing a private eye. So it's probably a good bet that the potential offshoot would look more like Magnum P.I. than House 2.0.

"Fox will wait to see if Weston catches on in the role before deciding whether or not to move forward with the spin-off."

Here’s another great spoiler from Kristin at E! Online about one of season 5’s House guest stars. It seems that Breckin Meyer will be on the third episode and will have an extreme disorder that causes the team to have to really work. It sounds like an interesting case. Check it out:

According to a publicist for the studio that produces House, “Breckin guest stars on the show in the coming season as a struggling artist—a painter whose undiagnosed illness distorts his work and his perception, and threatens to undermine his career, his relationship, everything in his life. Of course, this leads House and his team to uncover a much deeper, darker secret beneath Breckin’s canvases.”

Michael Ausiello at EW.com has some fun spoilerage to share with us too. ONe concerns the mix-up about Thirteen’s real name. The FOX site had it shown as Rena and the FOX behind the scenes clip listed it as Rema. Here’s are the Ausiello spoilers:

Question: Please give me some good news regarding Cameron and House. — Tammy
Ausiello: Not exactly sure if this qualifies as good, but Cameron starts spending a lot of time at Wilson’s pad in the first two episodes. Officially, she’s sprinkling some of her special widower fairy dust on his Amber-grieving soul. Unofficially, I’m guessing they had to…well…um…Once again Wikipedia comes through in a pinch!

Question: Just three weeks until House returns! Give us something! — Kristina
Ausiello: Call me crazy, but I was getting a serious Damages vibe after watching the Sept. 16 season premiere.

Question: Huh? Fox’s official House site lists Thirteen’s real name as Rena Hadley. I thought her real name was Remy? — Polly
Ausiello: It was! It is! A House rep tells me someone goofed and listed her name as Rena on the site. It should be fixed by the time you read this.
