Since this was a short week on AMC, I am going to contain my “Thoughts” to
three subjects.
First, David’s reappearance at the courtroom after Greenlee’s verdict was
read to me was very anticlimactic. By now we all knew he was going to be
there. I cannot figure out whether VI just wanted time off from the show or
was in negotiations with the show over his contract. Either way I cannot
see this storyline playing out well for his character. IMHO they have ruined
the character of David forever. I really do not see how they can bring him
back to the evil but not cartoonish villain that he was.
After David showed up, it was a total free for all in the courtroom.
Everyone just either barging in (think Marissa) and giving David a piece of
their mind, or those in the courtroom standing up (think Jesse, Greenlee,
Ryan or Jack) and just throwing their two cents in. It was the most
ridiculous episodes I have watched in a long time.
Second, Alicia Minshew hit it out of the park in her scenes reacting to
the news of Zach’s death. From her initial denial to her repeatedly calling
his cell phone just to hear his voice were heartbreaking. When Erica and
Bianca held her, I could still remember a time when the three of them were
bitter enemies. This made the closeness between them for me all the more
powerful and moving. I understand Kendall blaming Ryan and Greenlee for
Zach’s death. Having someone to blame makes it seem not so random. However,
she also both asked and supported Zach’s mission to help them, so there might
be some residual guilt on her part. I would like to see eventually Kendall
letting Greenlee comfort her the way she took care of Greenlee when Ryan
“died”. I still remember the very moving scene of Kendall crawling into bed
with Greenlee and just wrapping herself around her. As for her not being
able to tell the boys about Zach, I completely understand. My husband died
suddenly also, at age 33 (I was 32) and we had a 2 ½ year old daughter.
Knowing the right time and the right way to tell a child is never easy.
Third, in last week’s article I mentioned 3 possible pregnancy storylines.
It looks as if one of my guesses will be correct. For those of you who don’t
read spoilers, I will not reveal which one.
