Well, Happy 40th to All My Children. Despite its lackluster performance
lately, not many shows, either in daytime or primetime, can claim a 40-year run.
I am hoping that with new people at the helm, we will return to the AMC that I
remember.
I appreciated the actors that came “back” for the special. I would have liked
the storyline better if Hayley just came back to do a special for "Wave" on
growing up in a small town, instead of Pine Valley being chosen The Best Town in
America. I had a hard time accepting that premise. I also thought that having
the actors interviewed “in character” was not very exciting. I really would have
liked more of a retrospective show, showing scenes, actors, and storylines that
made AMC the show that is. Years ago M*A*S*H did an episode (in B&W) where the
actors were interviewed by a reporter in character. It was one of the best
episodes they did. In my opinion, it did not work well for AMC. I also thought
that the whole cast was trying way too hard.
I have a question for everyone out there as I have forgotten the details.
Ryan was the sperm donor for both Spike and Emma. As a sperm donor, he forfeits
his parental rights, correct? It is also very realistic to believe that Ryan has
more children out there as a result of his donations. My question though, did
either Kendall or Annie give parental rights to their respective children to
Ryan? I know this was discussed at some point, but I do not remember what
finally happened. If Annie never officially gave Ryan parental rights regarding
Emma or he did not officially adopt her, he has no legal grounds to keep her.
I have said this before: I do not have a problem with the older woman/younger
man storyline. I just find Erica and Ryan as painful to watch as Marissa and JR.
Erica was acting like a high school girl wondering if she slipped about her
feelings regarding Ryan and what would he think about what she said.
Say what you will about Annie, at least she wants nothing more than to be
with her daughter. Ryan constantly sends the child up to her room, palms her off
to Corrina, or on a sleep-over. He never spends any time with her. As far as I
am concerned, to Ryan Emma is just a piece of property to use against giving
Annie anything.
Boy, oh boy, when Greenlee does get back to the Valley is she going to be
pissed. Her Dad is gone, Ryan has not only moved on but with Erica, Fusion is in
the trash, and Kendall is gone.
Well, that’s about all for now. Have a great week.
I would love to hear from any of my readers.
