Carly/Lorenzo Reunion
Chapter 2

After leaving Carly, Lorenzo has a smile
on his face. A smile that he hasn’t quite had since his and Carly’s
breakup and divorce. Now that some time has passed, he realizes that he
had been a little too hasty when he had thrown her out of their home. He
also blames himself for Carly’s nervous breakdown. But, now, since that it
is all over, and he has another chance with her, he vows not to let
anything stand in his way this time of getting her back for good.
Taking his cell phone out of his pocket,
he quickly dials Skye’s cell phone number. She answers it on the second
ring. Skye is glad to hear from him. Lorenzo informs her that he has
something to talk to her about. She also has something to tell him.
Skye wonders how she is going to tell
Lorenzo that the child that she is carrying is not really his, but Luke
Spencer’s. Also, she has another dilemma, how is she going to tell Luke
that he is going to be a father in less than three months. She daydreams
of what it would be like when she tells him that he is going to be a
father. She daydreams that Luke will be thrilled with the news, and offers
to divorce Tracy and marry her. Skye is brought back to reality by the
sound of Tracey’s voice, hurling her usual insulting remarks. Skye would
normally be upset by her remarks, but she wasn’t going to let Tracey get
to her this time.
Lorenzo arrives at the Quartermaines.
The maid shows him into the study where Skye is. Tracey hurls her usual
insulting remarks at him as to why he is here, and leaves the room.
Lorenzo quietly closes the doors behind her. He lets Skye know that he has
something to tell her. Skye interrupts him, and lets him know that she
wants to tell him her news first. Skye pours him a good stiff bourbon on
the rocks, and hands it to him. She tells him that he is going to need
this. Puzzled, he takes the drink from her.
Skye lets him know that she doesn’t know
exactly where to begin except to just blurt it out. Again, Lorenzo is
puzzled by her actions. Skye, looks at him, and gives him a half hearted
smile. She begins to explain that the last few months with him has been
wonderful with him, but she has never really fallen in love with him. He
nods his head that he understands. Skye explains that she had had a
doctor’s appointment that day, and every thing was progressing smoothly.
She also tells him that she had had a DNA test run to determine the
paternity of the baby. Lorenzo, now is beginning to become really
interested, and listens to her attentively. Lorenzo questions her as to
who the father of her baby is. Skye, with tears in her eyes, tells him
that the father of her baby is Luke. Lorenzo is shocked beyond words, and
can’t seem to say anything.
Lorenzo questions her as to when this
had happened that Luke was the father of her baby. Skye explains that it
had happened the night that her and Luke had been locked in the freezer
together. Lorenzo gets up, and sets his glass down on the table. He turns
to face Skye, who is afraid of what Lorenzo will do next. Lorenzo just
looks at her for a moment. It is so quiet in the room, you could hear a
pin drop. Lorenzo clears his throat, and begins to explain. He tells Skye
that he is happy for her and Luke, and he wishes them the best of luck.
Skye is completely confused by his actions. Lorenzo goes on to explain
that he had had dinner with Carly tonight, and he had come to the
realization that he still loved her, and wanted a second chance with her.
Skye gets up, slowly, off the sofa and join him. She places a hand on his
shoulder. Skye tells him that she perfectly understands because that is
how she feels about Luke. She tells Lorenzo that there is no man for her,
but Luke. Lorenzo smiles, and tells her that he is glad that she is
taking it this way. Skye lets him know that there is no other way to take
the news.
He kisses her on the head, and again
wishes her good luck when she tells Luke the news. She walks Lorenzo to
the door, and quietly closes the door behind him. She mumbles to herself
that one hurdle is over, now for the biggest step--telling Luke.
