Haven cast, season 5

"Haven" review by Suzanne 9/30/15
Season 5 premieres October 8 at 10/9c on Syfy

This is one of my favorite scifi shows, so I'm really sorry to see that this is the last season. (SOB!)  It's been on for a good long while, sure, but I will really miss it. I'll especially miss the characters. They're the best part of the show.

Haven returns right after the last episode. Audrey has been rescued by her mom, and Mara is gone. Duke, who was dying, released all of the troubles that Mara put in him, and the troubles headed toward Haven and all of its people, immediately giving them troubles (whether they had one already or not). Syfy let me watch the first two episodes that are coming up.

The two episodes are about what happens and how they deal with all of the new troubles. Also, Audrey has to get to know her new mom. Things don't go so well in that regard.  In fact, the only thing that does go well is between Nathan and Audrey (yay!).  They'd better end up happy and united at the end of this show, or I'm going to be pissed. I'm not the only one, either!

Duke ends up doing something unexpected and goes off on his own story for awhile. Pretty sure he'll be back, though, because escaping the troubles doesn't seem to work very well.  He learns something really weird and interesting (even for Haven!).  Dwight and Nathan do work together, but Dwight does some things that Nathan's not too happy about, in order to protect the town and its people.

After all of these troubles are released, the town of Haven is no longer the peaceful little town it was. Things are completely changed. It gives them all a whole new set of problems to deal with. I don't want to give you spoilers, so that's why I'm being vague.

Anyway, if you've watched the show for all this time, you know what to expect. It's always consistently good, and weird, and filled with mysteries. Don't miss it!

MORE INFORMATION:

Haven returns with two back-to-back episodes on Thursday, October 8th  at 10pm and 11pm ET/PT on Syfy.

About Haven:

Over the past five seasons, Audrey Parker and her friends have unlocked the mysteries of Haven, ME, a town whose residents are cursed with superhuman afflictions known as "The Troubles." In the series’ final 13 episodes, the town of Haven has been cut off from the rest of the world by a mysterious fog -- and hometown heroes Audrey (Emily Rose), Nathan (Lucas Bryant), Duke (Eric Balfour) and Dwight (Adam Copeland) are faced with challenges unlike any they’ve experienced yet.

The Shat will hit the fan when William Shatner (Star Trek) joins the cast as a pivotal character with the potential to forever impact the fate of the town and its Troubled residents during a multi-episode arc! Sneak Peek Video Trailer
