Kristian was born on September 5, 1963, in Brockton, Massachusetts. She was
an outstanding athlete when she won a gold medal at the Junior Olympic
Figure Skating Championship at the age of 13, but this came to an end when
Kristian fractured her leg. Her first acting role was at the age of 16 in
the movie "The Star Maker." Kristian was asked to audition for the part of
Hope Williams Brady in “Days of Our Lives” but declined. In 1983 she was
asked and got it. In 1987 she left “Days” and appeared in “Falcon Crest,”
“Full House,” and “Who's The Boss.” She returned in June, 1990 and left
again in October of that year when her son Gino was born. In May, 1994 she
returned to Days.
Hope's mom was killed and her father Doug raised her. She went to
boarding school and returned to Salem in 1984. She met Bo and they fell in
love, but they had to cross many obstacles to be together. Her father had a
heart attack just as she and Bo were about to make love for the first time.
Though she then married Larry Welch, Bo and Hope did finally get married.
In 1990 Hope was presumed dead after an explosion: everyone thought that
Hope was in the cage that was destroyed, but it was, in fact, Greta. In 1994
Hope returned, but this time she had amnesia and thought she was Gina. Later
on, Hope and Bo searched for the truth about Hope's past when she was held
captive by Stefano.
Stefano had transformed Hope back into Gina to help him steal a painting.
But Gina had an agenda of her own: to be reunited with her one true love,
John. Gina kidnapped John on his honeymoon and turned him back into the John
she knew. They made love on a submarine. The real Gina was held captive in a
castle, and later she escaped and locked Hope and Stefano in the room she
had been held in.
Gina took over Hope's life. When she realized that John was not
interested in her, she went after Bo, and she married him, but later on Bo
killed Gina. Hope and Stefano were rescued. Hope was pregnant.
Hope thought that Bo was the father but learned that she had slept with
John. Hope and Lexie gave birth on the same day, but their babies were
switched. Hope then found out that John was the father and kept the truth
from Bo. After her own baby almost died, and she found out that Stefano had
switched the babies, Lexie transformed Hope again into Gina to stop Hope
finding out the truth. Bo discovered that John was J.T.'s father. Glen came
back to Salem to get custody of his son, J.T. and won custody of him, and
later Bo and Hope filed for custody of their real son, whom Lexie had. Bo
and Hope learned that Bo was indeed Zack's father. Hope visited J.T. when he
was having surgery, but on her way back home she was kidnapped by evil Larry
Welch. Bo found Zack with Lexie and thought that she was responsible for
Hope's disappearance, and he almost killed her.
Hope was rescued, but she and Bo were attacked at Basic Black, and this
was the beginning of bigger things: a serial killer started killing her
friends and family. How will Hope cope with the death of her father Doug and
her beloved grandmother Alice?
Hope is another heroine, much like Marlena, but she is tougher because
she has been a police woman. Like many soap characters, she has had many
different jobs, including model, businesswoman, and bounty hunter. She and
Bo are a devoted couple. They met when she was a teen, but they have had
years of misery and heartache, mostly due to Stefano. Now they have children
and that brings them extra worries. Bo's nickname for Hope is "Fancy Face."
