This is a very good show that, for some reason, did not
get enough viewers. It's a real shame because it was well
worth watching. I'm glad to get a second chance to watch it
on DVD.
I'm guessing that part of the problem was that it was
sort of scifi but soft of not, and sometimes vaguely-defined
shows have trouble. The premise of the show that old
prisoners from Alcatraz suddenly appear and then escape into
the present, and these special gents have to track them down
and bring them back to a secret prison. At the beginning,
you don't know why this is happening or who is behind any of
it.
You can read my original review.
The DVD doesn't have a lot of extras. There is just a
featurette "The Allure of Alcatraz" that talks about the
island prison, some deleted scenes, and a too-short gag
real. I would have liked to have seen more!
