TV Show Reviews
"Saving Hope"
review by Suzanne
Thursdays at 9/8c on NBC
This is an interesting show. It's very
romantic. The show is about a doctor, Charlie, head of
surgery, who goes into a coma and then haunts his own
hospital. He's just about to get married to his fiancee,
Alex, another doctor at the hospital. We watch as she
struggles with his condition as well as works on patients.
There are other doctors, including the hunky
Joel, whom Alex used to date. Most of the show centers
around Charlie, who narrates the show. Charlie can see other
coma patients, and some dead people as well. The show
reminds me a bit in tone of the movie "Somewhere in Time".
Another thing I like about the show is that
it's a little vague about what's happening. It's not
religious about the afterlife, but it's not entirely
supernatural, either. The actors do a great job. I mostly
started watching it because I just loved Michael Shanks
(Charlie) in "Stargate SG-1" and "Smallville", plus it also
has Erica Durance (Alex), who played Louis in "Smallville"
and Danielle Gilles (Joe), who sometimes plays Elijah on
"Vampire Diaries". It's really a great cast.
At any rate, it's a very good show that
makes you tune in every week to see what's going to happen
next. You should definitely check it out!
