If you watch "The Young & The Restless," we could really use
your help! We are desperate to find some more
update
writers. This just means you watch the show and then type up
what happened. It's not that hard!
I was on vacation last week, so I didn't keep up the blog at
all! I went away for over a week, so before we left, I had
to try to get as much off my DVR as I could....I was worried
that when I recorded my shows while I was gone, it would
fill up too much. I could only get it about halfway cleared
off. That's because I still have the entire season's worth
of "Arrow,"
"The Flash" and
"Gotham" as well as
4 months of "General
Hospital." I'm
saving the first three to use for transcripts, eventually...
I've already watched Flash and Gotham. Fortunately, it all
worked out! I'm in no hurry to watch those GH episodes,
though, but I can't quite bring myself to delete them,
either. Old habits die hard.
I recorded the "Tony Awards" June 7 but still haven't
watched those yet, either.
While I was away, I couldn't run our site's soap
transcripts, but I did record the shows, so I'm slowly
catching up now on running those, since I'm back... as of
right now, I'm about half done. I should be all done by the
time you read this!
I'm still trying to catch up on "Defiance" second season
so I can watch the current one! It's so good. The first
season was so-so at first, but it got really better.
This week's News is here and
next week's is here. This
has the schedule for you of all of the upcoming TV shows
this week on the major and cable networks (well, not ALL but
most of them - we're not really into reality shows too much
and there are just too many of them to list). We put up most
of our Primetime news &
schedule up on the weekend, so check back!
I didn't have any interviews last week, but this morning
I had one with Tony Denison of "Major Crimes" on TNT. Great
show. He was such a nice man on the phone. I really love
that show and have been enjoying it. I'm looking forward to
catching up on new episodes of "Rizzoli & Isles," too.
I'm watching the last 2 episodes of "The Messengers" on The
CW. I really enjoyed this show. It's sad that they didn't
even give it much of a chance. I'm glad there are still 3
more episodes left, though!
San Diego Comic-Con is coming up soon, and I have volunteers who go
there for me and take photos. Some of the networks are kind
enough to invite us to their parties or events! Especially
NBC, Syfy and FX.
I still have to catch up on "The Whispers" from the past
two weeks. I like it so far, but finding room for another
show is a challenge! I'm already behind on "Beauty & The
Beast" for this month and haven't yet watched the newer
episodes of "The Comedians", "Dark Matter", "Wayward Pines,"
and "Unreal," and I still have to check out "Astronaut Wives
Club," "Proof," and "Complications!" Whew!
Speaking of "Beauty & The
Beast," the fans of the show
have made a cookbook, which they're selling in order to
raise money to fight Juvenile Diabetes (star
Austin Basis
has that disease, so it's a cause close to him).
As always, I took a bunch of DVD's with me on vacation
and didn't watch most of them...just so busy! We were busy
having fun :)
I'm sorry for the fans of "Hannibal" that it got
canceled. I know how painful that can be. I know why it got
shafted, though. I mean, it was on 3 seasons, which is a lot
for a summer show on NBC. This is the only Friday one I
didn't watch that they canceled! Like "Dracula", "Crossbones"
and "Constantine." Not to mention "Law
& Order!" I guess they kept "Hannibal" around because
it was artsy and by Bryan Fuller. They only did 10 episodes
per season and I guess, they thought it might pick up some
more audience members. To me it was just too gruesome, slow
and self-indulgent.
I was at a party over the weekend and told someone what I
do for a living, and she turned to me and said, "Wow, that
must takes up a lot of time." I replied, "Yes, it sure
does!" All I told her was that I
interview actors over the
phone and review all of the new shows. That's enough, but
I
do a lot more! As do all our
volunteers.
Last night I had a dream about characters from "The Young & The Restless," which is really unusual. If I dream about
any soap at all, it's usually "General
Hospital." On Y&R
right now, for real, Jack has been replaced by an evil twin,
and Victor is behind it. In my dream, it was Victor who'd
been replaced by an evil twin. I seemed to be the only one
who knew, yet I couldn't tell anyone, but I was trying to
let them know, anyway. Everyone was already pretty
suspicious because he was being really bad, even for him. It
was a very weird dream. I wish I could remember it better. I
know that his wife Nicki figured prominently.
I don't normally watch any sports on TV, but my husband
is a big sports fan. First, we watched the Triple Crown
winner June 6. We went to a bar that had the race playing. I
really didn't care. I just went with him and I was bored,
but then I kind of got into the race. The whole bar was
pretty excited. That's always fun.
We had a similar experience last week when we went to Las
Vegas. Although I don't care about sports, I like to bet on
them when we're there. I usually bet on my home team, or as close as I can
get. I bet on the San Francisco Giants because the game was
one of the few playing when we went to bet. It turned out to
be a great game, and once again I found myself in a crowd of
excited sports fans at a bar, cheering on our favorite. It
was a lot of fun! And I won my bet, so woo hoo! :)
I hope you get to watch "Mr. Robot" on USA because it's a
very good show. It's exciting and has good characters and
excellent writing.
Sometimes "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" does
these hilarious spoofs of TV shows using real actors. They
had one a few weeks ago "Pre-Trial Services" that featured
Dean Winters (whom you may know from "Battle Creek," "Law &
Order: Special Victims Unit," "Oz" or other shows. It was so
good. Great to see him again. I hope he gets another good
show soon. Josh Duhamel, too!
Speaking of canceled shows, we got the news last week
that "Constantine" won't be coming back... they had hoped
that another network would pick it up, but they couldn't
sell it. That's too bad. I admit it wasn't the best show on
TV, but I really did enjoy it.
I'm so behind on everything, due to being on vacation. I
have about 4 or 5 interviews to transcribe. UGH. I hate
doing that.
I found this last week:
Kelly
Hu from CSI:NY, Arrow, Vampire Diaries and Sunset Beach
stars in this Viagra commercial!
One thing I always love to do when I'm in Vegas is take
photos of the latest TV- and movie-themed slot machines. I
found a few this time, which you can see in my
Facebook photo album
(you'll see all my trip photos there, not just the slot
machines). I'll probably put them on the site a little
later. I already
have some from my last trip there.
I'm almost done with running this week's
soap
transcripts. Whew, it sure took a long time to catch up!
On "Bold & The
Beautiful," I'm glad that Rick and Maya are finally
being shown again. The Wyatt/Steffi/Liam/Ivy baloney is so
boring. The only bright spot was Quinn. We haven't seen
Deacon very much lately, either.
Everyone who's ever watched "General
Hospital" is very sad that Tony Geary (Luke) is leaving
GH. It's a real shame. I wish they had better writers to
write for him, and all of the other actors on the show. I
wish him well and hope we see him in other films!
I don't watch any of these shows regularly, but I see
bits and pieces while I run the transcripts. I was glad to
see a great moment recently between John and Marlena on "Days
of Our Lives!" They've always been my favorite.
Congratulations to our May Giveaway! Winners - Aretina
Trepczyk and Angela R Eppley! I'll be choosing the June
winners sooner. Make sure
to enter after July 4th.
Have a great week!
