DVD Reviews
This is always a very good show because the acting and
writing are top-notch. Each season, they push things a
little bit further, until you wonder, what can they possibly
do to top themselves? Unlike some other shows, it's not just
about the violence or sex. It's about the characters and how
they develop, and their relationships. Each season gets
better.
Veteran actor Ian McShane is added to the cast. He is
always good to see. What makes Ray's character interesting
is that he's tough, but he's got a lot of heart as well. He
shows that more this season than in previous seasons. Each
character is dealing with something new this year.
I enjoyed all of the episodes, but the Blu-ray is sadly
lacking in features. There are just audio commentaries.
Maybe they'll have more when the series is ended and they do
the whole set? I'm surprised because seasons one and two had
quite a few features.

RAY
DONOVAN: SEASON THREE Coming to Blu-ray
and DVD December 29
CBS Home Entertainment, Showtime Networks and Paramount
Home Media Distribution are releasing
RAY DONOVAN:
SEASON THREE on December 29 on Blu-ray
and DVD.
The third season of the hugely popular series garnered
more than 1.61 million viewers in its premiere episode,
beating the Season 2 premiere by 32%, and adds notable
guest stars to its cast including Katie Holmes
(“Dawson’s Creek”), Ian McShane (“Deadwood”) and Wendell
Pierce (“The Wire”).
Schreiber portrays the titular character
Ray Donovan,
a Boston-native who makes the problems of Tinseltown’s
celebrities, superstar athletes, and business moguls
disappear. In the latest season, Ray
discovers that even his own actions have consequences
and that clean slates are a dirty business.
Ray takes some hits that would
leave lesser men down for the count, but what doesn’t
kill a Donovan only makes him
stronger. One thing is for sure, whether you’re with him
or against him – it may be a new day, but it’s the same
Ray.
