Payback

A few years ago, Carly’s world was rocked when she was told that Sonny was the father of Sam’s baby.  Carly was lied to for months, since Jason claimed the baby was his.  When the truth came out, she reacted and got over it.   

Now the tables have turned. Sam just found out that Jason is the father of Liz’s baby.  She was lied to for months, since everyone believed that Lucky was the baby’s father.  I can’t tell you how delicious it was for Sam to realize that payback was a witch (with a “b”).   

Adding fuel to fire, unlike Carly, Sam was never told the truth, she overheard it.  How perfect was that, Sam overhearing Jason and Liz discuss their son?  She had to hear the pain in his voice as he spoke of not being able to claim his son.  She had to also realize that the death of Alan had not been the cause of Jason’s deepening brut. 

Even with those realizations, Sam’s pain takes precedence over Jason’s.  After all, this is selfish Sam we’re talking about.  Knowing Sam, we’re in for the whining, the tears and the alcohol.  It would not be Sam if she didn’t do her usual “why me” rant, while crying crocodile tears and sucking down hard liquor.   

Apparently, she feels betrayed by her latest revelation, which is interesting considering she didn’t have any emotional response when she was the one doing the deceiving.  Sam didn’t care that Carly was left in the dark, when it came to her baby’s true paternity.  In fact, if it wasn’t for Sonny’s guilt, Carly would have never known the truth.    

The saying “what goes around comes around” applies to Sam’s latest plight.  She’s getting exactly what she deserves.  Now she truly knows what Carly went through when she was pregnant with Sonny’s child.
