I am a Speech/Language Pathologist in a public school system in
West Virginia. What that means is that I do speech and language
therapy with children. I have been doing this for over 30 years and
am seriously considering taking advantage of the opportunity to
retire at the end of this school year. In addition to doing speech
therapy, I am in charge of all of the paperwork for the special
education programs in the school. I work in an Intermediate school
that serves only fourth and fifth grade students; however, we have
about 430 students in these two grades. We just opened a new
Intermediate school in the area so we are down about 300 students
from the 720+ that we had in this same building last year.
In addition to work, I enjoy reading, going to movies, and dining
out with friends. I am married but have no children (unless you
count my husband) and no pets. I have collected fountain pens,
vintage and contemporary, for about 10 or 12 years now and have over
150 of them. I use them everyday when possible and just love being
able to change the ink and enjoy the smooth feel of flowing ink on
the page.
