At The Grand Phoenix, Nick told Phyllis he and Devon were excited about New Hope teaming up with Newman Media. Phyllis had a bad feeling about this collaboration. He stated that Adam and Victor offered up free tech for New Hope and free media coverage, which would generate new interests. She was concerned he’d be under Victor’s thumb again. He said his eyes were wide open when it came to his father, and Adam’s offers were good. She didn’t see how that could be when Adam tainted everything he touched. He didn’t forget Adam’s past, but he was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt after what he did for Faith. She respected his attitude, but she still reserved the right to keep hating Adam. Phyllis noticed Nick had a new attitude – he was giving Adam a chance and he’d been laid back when Summer and Kyle announced their wedding plans. She asked if this meant she could be naughtier than usual. He wasn’t sure – she was already pretty naughty as it was. They wrapped things up because he had to leave.

Nikki visited Newman Media, and Adam told her Victor was at a lunch meeting, but she already knew. She was there to see Adam. She said she saw Victor earlier, and he’d been upset. She assumed it had to do with something underhanded or selfish that Adam did. She never approved of this partnership. He said he and Victor were getting along better than ever, probably because there were no secrets. He knew he had a long way to go to earn her trust, but he hoped that Nick’s willingness to give him an opportunity would inspire her to do the same. She said trust was earned through action, not promises. He was working on it. She asked what he said to upset Victor. He admitted they had a business disagreement, but it wasn’t a big deal. She was very concerned about Victor’s health. He promised he wouldn’t jeopardize that. Nikki admitted Victor had been more irked than upset. She stated that Victor had settled into a version of retirement before when he stepped away from Newman Enterprises, but now he’d jumped into business with Adam, and he was emotionally invested in building another legacy. Adam didn’t see the problem with that. Nikki asked what Adam wanted out of all this. Adam wanted to be the man Connor could respect, the man Hope wanted him to be and the man his father believed he could be. He knew what he’d done in the past, but he had tools to cope, and he didn’t want to repeat his mistakes. She admitted he was saying the right things. He was sure she and the rest of the family were going to keep an eye out and make sure he didn’t veer off the path of good intentions. She hoped, for Victor’s sake, he was sincere, but the moment she thought he’d reverted to his former self, she’d show no mercy. He nodded.

Adam said he was officially on notice. He asked if she had any other concerns. Nikki was curious, for Connor’s sake, if Adam would try and mend things with Chelsea after her release. He said Chelsea would always have a place in his heart. He took responsibility for pushing her over the edge, but he wasn’t sure if they could reconcile. She knew that would be hard for Connor, who’d want his parents together. He was determined to do right by his son, no matter what happened in the future. She hoped so, since he had a lot to make up for. She left.

At Crimson Lights, Rey told Sharon that everyone in his family was happy they were coming back to Miami. He’d told his mom that this was their second honeymoon, so they’d need some alone time. He was excited to take her dancing. The vacation sounded like heaven, to Sharon, but she was nervous about leaving Faith, especially now when she was about to restart therapy and rehab. He understood, and he’d cancel if he thought Faith was struggling, but she was doing well, and she had so many people to lean on. She noted that Faith was pushing them to go on this vacation. He said they’d been through so much this year with the cancer treatments, his poisoning and Faith’s accident, Faith would be in good hands with Nick, and if she and Sharon needed to talk, she’d only be a phone call away. Sharon thanked him for being so understanding.

Nick arrived and told Sharon and Rey not to worry about Faith while they were in Miami. He thought Summer would drag Faith into wedding planning. Sharon asked how he felt about the wedding. He realized he had to trust Summer’s judgment. He gave his blessing, but he still worried, which was part of being a parent. She commended him. Faith showed up after her half day at school. She wasn’t as nervous about her rehab session today as she was before. She had a tough school year, but it made her think about college. Sharon was glad Faith was looking toward the future. Faith said almost dying had an effect, so did hanging out with Moses, who already knew he wanted to be a doctor. She wanted to find something she was that passionate about. Sharon and Nick promised she’d find something.

Adam cautiously entered and commented that the gang was all here. He asked Faith how she was. She was better every day, thanks to him saving her life twice. He said they didn’t have to talk about it – she didn’t owe him anything, and she didn’t have to keep saying thanks. She said thanks, then caught herself. He said she’d get the hang of it. Faith left. Adam was there to talk to Rey. He didn’t like what Rey was doing with Chelsea. Rey asked what Adam meant, and Adam told him not to play dumb. Nick stood up, and he and Sharon tried to keep the peace. Adam was aware that Rey had been visiting Chelsea. He assumed Rey was trying to prove Chelsea should've stood trial, but he said the court decided she was where she should be, so she could get the help she needed. “Chelsea does need help, and whose fault is that?,” Rey asked. Adam admitted it was his fault, and he was trying to be worthy of forgiveness. Rey said Adam was free to make over his image, while Chelsea was locked in a ward fighting the demons Adam inflicted on her when he broke her heart and mind. Nick thought Adam understood this already, so there was no sense re-fighting old battles. Sharon agreed. Rey wanted Adam to stay away from him and Sharon. Adam had no intention of harming them. Rey said to leave, and Adam did, since he had somewhere else to be anyway.

Rey didn’t understand how Nick could defend Adam, like what he did for Faith erased everything he’d done. Nick wasn’t saying it did, but Adam seemed to be making a concerted effort to change, and Nick was willing to see where that went. Nick wouldn’t tell Rey what to do, but he thought Rey had a lot of great things in life that he could be focusing on, starting with taking Sharon to Miami. Rey admitted Nick was right. Nick left. Sharon was sorry. Rey said she didn’t do anything. She was just sorry about the situation. He didn’t want her to feel that way. He said Nick was right – he had better things to worry about, like her. She asked if he wanted to go shopping for the trip with her. He wished he could, but he had to go check in at work. She left, and he got a text from Michael wanting to meet.

Chelsea was curled up in her hospital bed when Adam walked in. She tensed up and scooted back. She thought he came to gloat now that she’d been declared insane. He said he just wanted to see her and to let her know he video chatted Connor. He’d told Connor that she was having treatments and she sent her love. She worried that he was lying about telling Connor she loved him, but he assured her that he really said it. She asked how Connor was. He was finishing up the school year, and he’d be coming home soon. She was glad. There was nothing she wanted more than to be with her little boy again.

Tara was glad to run into Summer at the park. She heard Summer met Harrison. Summer said he was a wonderful boy. Tara was also happy the wedding plans were back on track. Summer appreciated Tara saying that. Summer said that Harrison was Kyle’s priority, and he wouldn’t lose sight of that because they were making wedding plans. Summer said bye, and as she walked away, a dark look spread over Tara’s face. Sally happened to be there, but no one saw her. After Summer was gone, Sally approached. Tara didn’t want anything to do with Sally. Sally asked for five minutes.

Sally thought it was clear that Tara had set her sights on Kyle. Tara denied this. Sally said she saw the look on Tara’s face after talking to Summer about the wedding. Tara accused Tara of imagining things. Sally understood why Tara wanted Kyle – he was rich, gorgeous and the father of her son. Tara got angry, but Sally said not to deny it – she’d already suspected the truth for months. Sally said if Tara wasn’t interested in Kyle, she would still be in NY instead of moving to the Abbott house. Sally offered a way to get Summer out of both of their lies. Tara wondered what made Sally so sure that she wouldn’t tell everyone that she was plotting against Summer. Sally had radar for kindred spirits. Tara said she and Sally were nothing alike, but Sally was sure that they were. She’d sensed it the first time they met. Sally said they had a common problem – the woman who was running JCV and wearing Kyle’s engagement ring. She was working on a scheme to get Summer away from them and Kyle, and all Tara had to do was make Summer want to take it. Tara asked how she was supposed to do that.

Sally would take care of the Summer side of things. She said all Tara had to do was work on getting Kyle to fall back in love with her. Tara didn’t know why she bothered listening to this ridiculous plan. She said Sally might have time for these kinds of games, but Tara was facing a devastating divorce and the possibility of losing custody of her child. She was going to forget they ever had this conversation. She started to leave. Sally told Sally to let her know if and when changed her mind.

At Society, Ashland got a call that displeased him, but he agreed to make the necessary arrangements. Victoria arrived. She was looking forward to dinner tonight. He had to fly back to NY, but he invited her to join him and have dinner in Manhattan. She wasn’t sure that was a good idea, given the impending messy divorce. He said they weren’t doing anything wrong, and no one needed to know. She suggested he should play it safe, but he said that had never been his style. He enjoyed her confidence and drive, and he’d been thinking about her advice that the best revenge was civility. He wasn’t sure he’d handle the divorce that way, but he appreciated her perspective, and he enjoyed being with her. She was tempted, but she had the kids at home, and she wasn’t sure about her schedule in the next few days. He told her to check her calendar, and he’d follow up with her.

Nikki went to work and told Victoria that she had an odd conversation with Adam. She said he seemed sincere about wanting to change, and now she understood why Nick and Victor were giving him another chance. Nikki was skeptical, and Victoria didn’t buy it either, but she wasn’t going to get worked up about it. Eventually the truth would come out. She had more pleasant things to think about than her half-brother, though. Nikki asked what was going on. Victoria said she just had a very productive day. Ashland called Victoria, and she regretfully declined his invitation to join him in Manhattan. She ended the call, and she noticed Nikki staring intently at her. Nikki wanted to know what was going on. She wished Victoria would confide in her. Victoria said it wasn’t a lack of trust; she just didn’t feel the need to share everything with her mother. She liked having a secret of her own.

Summer went back to the Abbott house and talked wedding plans with Kyle. She detailed her conversation with Tara. He was grateful to Summer for being so positive and putting in the effort. She said he could show her how grateful he was at home later. He was going to play with Harrison, and he asked if she wanted to join them. She did. Harrison came in, and he had the toy Summer gave him. Kyle asked if it was okay if Summer played with them, and Harrison nodded. Kyle thanked Summer.

The trio came inside after playing I spy, and Tara showed up and saw them together. Tara asked Harrison if his daddy bought him that toy, and Summer said she got it for him. Tara said that was sweet. Kyle was glad Tara was able to get out today. Tara said thanks for watching Harrison – she’d needed it, given what was on her mind. They all watched Harrison play, and Tara said she hoped things worked out the way they should, for all of them. Kyle and Tara got identical texts from Ashland who wanted to meet without lawyers. Tara took Harrison upstairs then she returned and they all talked about Ashland’s request. Summer wondered if it was a power play. Tara thought anything was possible, since he loved keeping people off balance. Kyle suggested Ashland might be looking for an answer to his offer. Kyle wanted to know where Tara’s head was too, since in return for shared custody and financial support, she had to cut him out of her son’s life. Ashland showed up at the house, and Kyle asked him what the hell he wanted.
