Phyllis was concerned when Summer came home from work early. Summer explained that she and Kyle didn’t get a lot of sleep, and she wasn’t being productive at work, with everything going on, so she decided to go up to her suite and nap. Phyllis asked how Kyle was doing. Summer said that he was going to ask Jack to move Tara and Harrison into the Abbott house. Phyllis said Kyle would have to tell Jack why he’d taken a sudden interest in this little boy – there was no turning back now. After Summer was upstairs, Nick showed up looking for her. Summer’s assistant had pointed him in that direction. Phyllis tried to run interference. Nick said that Summer promised to talk to him in the morning, and it was morning. Phyllis tried to dissuade Nick because Summer didn’t feel well, but he he said that if he didn’t get answers from Summer, he was going to get them from Phyllis.

Phyllis said Ashland followed Tara to Genoa City and confronted her in the lobby. Phyllis had to break it up. Nick didn’t like that Phyllis was also caught up in Kyle’s stuff. She didn’t like it either, but she thought Kyle was making the best of it. She said that Kyle used poor judgment when he slept with a married woman, but that was a long time ago. Nick wanted Phyllis to say that there were more than nine months between the end of the affair and birth of Harrison. Phyllis shook her head no, and Nick sighed. Phyllis told Nick that Kyle had been very honest with Summer. Nick was annoyed Phyllis was defending Kyle. She said she wasn’t. She wasn’t happy about this, but she thought Kyle was making the best of the situation. She said if he treated Kyle like the enemy, he’d alienate Summer. He decided to go see their daughter. Phyllis wanted to go too, but Nick said he had to do this alone.

Upstairs, Nick informed Summer that Phyllis told him about Kyle and Tara. He admitted that he didn’t give Phyllis much of a choice. Summer wasn’t up for talking now, but Nick said that was too bad because they were having this discussion. He knew about Kyle’s son. She was upset Phyllis kept spilling her secrets, but he pointed out that Kyle was going to go public soon anyway. He was sure Ashland would want Kyle’s head on a platter. The visual Nick painted upset Summer. She knew he blamed Kyle, as usual, but she refused to go there. She said Kyle made a mistake, just like she, Nick and everyone else had at some point in their lives. She said Kyle was trying to do the right thing and be there for everyone including her. He wasn’t there to attack Kyle. Nick’s only concern was Summer. Summer said Nick couldn’t divide her and Kyle like that. She and Kyle were a package deal, and she wasn’t going to protect herself at Kyle’s expense or walk away. Every time she walked away from Kyle before, she lived to regret it, and she was standing by him this time.

At Jabot, Jack assured Kyle that he wouldn’t judge him. Kyle admitted he kept part of the truth from Jack, because he was pretty sure Jack would have a problem with it. Kyle revealed that Harrison was his son. “My grandson,” Jack quietly said. He asked if Kyle found out last night. Kyle said that Theo and Sally told him a couple months ago. Jack was stunned Sally knew. Kyle said he told Sally and Theo it wasn’t true, but he asked Tara, and she confirmed it. He explained that Tara said it’d be wrong of him to ruin the happy life she, Ashland and Harrison had. Selfishly, Kyle knew that it would ruin his life too, so he agreed to keep Harrison’s paternity a secret. Jack asked if Kyle was going to let that boy grow up without any connection to his family. Kyle knew it would be hard for Jack to accept, which is why he didn’t say anything sooner. He hoped Jack understood he was just trying to do what was right for Harrison. Jack asked if Ashland knew. Kyle said Tara lied to Ashland about the timeline of the affair, and god help them if he found out.

Jack assumed Tara changed her mind about keeping this a secret. Kyle explained that Tara was scared Ashland would take Harrison in the divorce. It’d be harder for him to do that if Kyle was the biological father. Jack asked if Kyle got a DNA test. He was planning to soon. Jack understood the hesitation – he’d been there when Kyle was a baby. It stirred up complicated emotions. Kyle said he’d almost blurted it out so many times. Jack hoped Kyle told Summer, and he said of course. She’d been great, she was scared of how intense it could get, but she supported him doing right by his son. Jack brought up attacks from Ashland. Kyle had come to accept that fending off attacks from Locke would be the central focus of his life from now on. He couldn’t let Tara do it alone. He had to take the brunt of this for Harrison’s sake. Jack wanted Tara and the baby out of that hotel. He wanted them to stay at the Abbott house. Kyle admitted that was part of the reason he came to Jack today. Jack hoped Kyle knew he’d say yes. Kyle wasn’t sure how disappointed Jack would be in him. Jack was very proud of Kyle for trying to handle this the best way possible every step of the way.

Tara met Kyle in the hotel lobby, but she was nervous about that. He told her they were safe. He had a friend at the GCAC, who told him that Ashland was there right now. She was sure Ashland had spies at the Grand Phoenix. He told her about Jack’s invitation. Kyle said they’d be more comfortable there, and even if Ashland found out, he wouldn’t be able to come to he Abbott house the way he could come into the hotel. Tara commented that Kyle was very different than when she knew him in NY. He said it was past time for him to grow up. She appreciated his help, and he said he’d do whatever was necessary for Harrison’s sake.

Devon and Amanda had a delicious lunch at his penthouse. He said that he lured her here with sushi, and she told him she didn’t visit him for the food. She mentioned that she had an appointment with Victor Newman in regards to Sutton’s case. He was surprised, because he was sure that Victor wasn’t involved in Richard’s death. She said some new information had come to light. The legal team’s P.I. found Richard’s day planner, and he’d had two meetings with Victor just before his death. Devon countered that Richard and Victor worked at the same place. Amanda didn’t think a low level accountant would be conferencing with the CEO. He asked if she thought Richard tried to blackmail Victor. She didn’t have to prove that, she only had to create reasonable doubt in the minds of the jury. She said the prosecution would point out that Richard attempted to contact Sutton’s campaign office, and she’d be able to prove he definitely was in touch with Victor. Soon after Richard met with Victor, and in the two weeks leading up to his death, he didn’t record anything in his planner about work. He didn’t deposit any paychecks either. She subpoenaed his HR file. She didn’t have it yet, but it looked like Richard was fired in retaliation for what he uncovered. Devon warned Amanda that she didn’t want to make an enemy of Victor. She wasn’t afraid of Victor.

Amanda went to Newman, where she met with Victor and his lawyer, Elizabeth Westerbrook. Amanda and Elizabeth had previously spoken on the phone. Amanda recorded the meeting, with Victor’s permission. The questioning started, and Victor said he didn’t know Richard Nealon. Amanda had evidence to the contrary. She showed Victor a picture of Richard, and he stared at it intently. “You recognize him, don’t you?” she asked. Victor recalled meeting Richard once or twice. Richard introduced himself as Rick. He was charming, and he’d passed Connie at the desk and come in for an impromptu meeting. Rick had been desperate to find a missing child. Amanda was caught off guard. She asked why Rick went to his boss for this information. Victor assumed Rick read his biography and knew he’d been abandoned at an orphanage when he was seven. Rick told Victor about getting a college friend pregnant and her putting the baby up for adoption. Rick asked Victor for help, and he put him in contact with a P.I. He also told Rick the job would be there for him when he came back from the search. Amanda was startled that Rick left his job voluntarily to look for the child. Victor never heard from him again. “Because he died,” Amanda said. Victor didn’t know Rick died. He thought it was sad that Rick’s son her daughter would never know their father was looking for them.

When Amanda went back to Devon’s, she was not okay. He asked if Victor went off on her. She said it was so unexpected. She told him what happened. Devon thought that Richard didn’t know Naya was pregnant. Amanda said he must’ve found out somehow, unless Victor invented this whole story. Devon didn’t think that Victor lied – it had been thirty years, and if Victor didn’t want to say what they’d discussed, he could’ve just pretended he forgot. Devon said Victor was traumatized as a kid by being separated from his family. Amanda didn’t know about Victor living in an orphanage until now. She said Victor and Richard only discussed one baby, so he didn’t know there were twins. Amanda fought back tears as she quoted Victor saying her father was desperate to find his child.

Amanda called Naya and left a message asking to meet ASAP. Amanda said the more she learned about her father, the more she felt his loss. If he weren’t killed, people may have found her and Hilary. She and her sister could’ve grown up with their father. Whoever took his life stole the future they all could’ve had. She vowed to make damn sure that this person answered for that.

Back at Newman, Nikki arrived. Victor told her about his conversation with Amanda about Richard. He had a feeling about Amanda. He thought that she was very focused and disciplined, but he noticed that she was very affected by what he told her about Richard.

Ashland ran into Victoria at Crimson Lights, and she invited him to join her. She offered to be his guide to Genoa City. He asked for her opinion on Kyle. He was engaged to her niece, but she didn’t know him well. She thought he seemed smart and hardworking though. He told her that Kyle had an affair with his wife. Victoria guessed that explained the divorce plans. She was sorry. She’d been through something similar, as he knew. He thought he’d be better off in the long run. His main concern was his son. She reiterated the importance of putting your child first. He agreed. He stepped away to take a call.

Ashland went to The Grand Phoenix and looked around. He had an envelope that he wanted Phyllis to deliver to Tara. She refused. He said this was a judge’s orders instructing Tara to stop blocking access to his son. Phyllis informed Ashland that Tara had checked out. Ashland accused Phyllis of enjoying this. She said no. she wished she’d never met any of the Lockes. He said whatever she thought of him, his little boy loved him, and it was his obligation as a father to protect his child. He knew she understood since she loved and was protective of her daughter. He said it would be best for Summer and Kyle to remove themselves from this situation and let Ashland and Tara handle things. Phyllis said she’d been taking care of her own for a long time, and she didn’t need pointers from him. “If your actions affect my daughter in a negative way I swear to you there is no court, judge or law that will protect you,” she warned.

Kyle brought Tara to the Abbott estate. She was worried what his father must think of her, and he assured her that his father was cool. He told her that there was a tennis court, heated pool and plenty of room for Harrison to play outside. He told her to tell Mrs. Martinez their food preferences. Jack walked in from the kitchen and said the housekeeper just made cookies. Tara thanked Jack. He said it’d be nice to have the company. Jack was curious where Harrison was, so Kyle called him in from the other room. Tara introduced Jack as Mr. Abbott.

Jack gave Harrison a drink and told him that lots of kids lived in this house, including him and Kyle. He said he and his sisters missed having kids here, and he asked Harrison to make a lot of noise. He said the house would have life in it again. Kyle called Jack the best. Jack showed Tara and Harrison upstairs to their rooms. Kyle arranged for someone to come to the house for a paternity test.

Elena ran into Nate at Crimson Lights. He noticed confetti in her hair. The clinic turned a year old today, and the patients and staff threw her a party. She wished he’d been there. He thought it went as it should’ve since the clinic was her brainchild, and she made it happen. Elena was going to go up to her apartment. It was so quiet with Lola out of town. He offered to buy her lunch. He’d enjoy the company. He said nothing fancy, just burgers, to celebrate the clinic’s anniversary. She agreed. They returned after lunch. She said she could do without the treats and the parties. Work was its own reward. She was glad she didn’t give up on being a doctor. If it weren’t for him, she may have given up on her dream. He almost quit after he lost Carolyn and injured his hand. He thought the world needed more doctors like her.

Elena decided she should go upstairs for a nap. He said he’d go to the clinic for a cupcake. She watched him leave.
