Summer woke Kyle up so he wouldn’t be late for work. She was sorry about it, because she knew he’d tossed and turned all night. He asked if he kept her up. She didn’t think she could’ve slept anyway. She was apprehensive about him claiming paternity. He was worried about Locke’s reaction too, but Kyle said his little boy needed his mom and he needed Kyle’s protection. He couldn't turn his back on his son. She was with him. She asked what they should do next – a paternity test? That was his plan, because he knew Ashland wouldn’t take his word for it. He wanted to tell Jack before he took the test. Later, after Summer left, Tara dropped by to make sure Kyle hadn’t changed his mind about claiming paternity. He was going to take a paternity test and hire a lawyer, but he said that Ashland might have legal grounds to fight since he’d been raising Harrison. Tara thought she’d have the upper hand as the biological parent. Kyle asked if Ashland would lose interest once he found out Harrison wasn’t his. Tara said Ashland really did love Harrison, and she didn’t think he’d just walk away after he learned the truth. She didn’t completely want that anyway, because she thought it would hurt her son.

Tara had told Harrison they were on a trip. He didn’t realize she and Ashland had separated. Kyle was thinking that if he got to know Harrison, it might prepare him for what was to come. Tara offered to let Kyle watch his son while she went to the store. He smiled and agreed, but when she left, he looked nervous. Tara returned with Harrison and told Kyle that as soon as either of them felt uncomfortable, he could take Harrison back to the nanny. Tara left. Kyle admired Harrison’s stuffed fox and said he used to have a toy something like that as a kid. He used to take it with him everywhere, especially on trips with his mom. Kyle said his mom could be silly and funny and made him laugh. He asked if Harrison’s mom was like that. Harrison nodded. Kyle said moms were pretty cool.

Jack and Billy were at Crimson Lights. Billy was curious about the party getting canceled. Jack said something came up that made Summer and Kyle leave. Jack asked about Billy’s relationship. Billy said he and Lily were moving in together. Jack didn’t realize they were that serious. Billy felt Lily was perfect for him.

Kyle called Summer, who was at work, and told her what happened. He said he was nervous at first, but spending time with Harrison turned out to feel easy and natural. Kyle had looked over his shoulder for Locke as he walked Harrison back to his suite. He wanted to get Tara and Harrison out of the hotel. Summer suggested getting them a room at the GCAC, but Kyle was thinking of asking Jack if they could move into the Abbott house. Summer’s jaw dropped. She asked if Jack even knew he had a grandson. He was going to tell Jack both things at the same time, but she wasn’t sure that was the best idea. Jack walked into the Jabot boardroom, so Summer and Kyle ended the call.

Summer told Jack that Kyle wanted to talk to him. Jack hoped that meant Kyle was ready to fill him in on what happened. He hoped Summer was okay after having to cut the party short. He said they could reschedule anytime she wanted. He supported her and Kyle no matter what. She said thanks and left. Kyle showed up. Jack said it was clear Summer was concerned about the Tara situation. Kyle said Ashland knew about the affair, and he kicked Tara out. Jack asked if Tara came to town to warn Kyle that Ashland was going to retaliate against him or Jabot. Kyle didn’t know what Ashland was going to do, but there was a bigger situation they had to deal with. Kyle started to explain that Ashland followed Tara, but Jack interjected to ask why Tara was bringing Kyle into this. Kyle said she had no choice. He clammed up, and Jack assured Kyle that he could tell him anything. Kyle wanted to handle this on his own, but it escalated, and it was time Jack knew the truth. Jack looked worried.

Phyllis saw Lily in the hotel lounge flipping through photos of homes and guessed that she was about to lose a guest. Lily was ready for a permanent living situation. She missed cooking for herself. Phyllis couldn’t relate, but she was sorry to lose Lily. Lily said the hotel was great, and Phyllis should be proud. Phyllis noticed Lily was looking at a place on Chestnut. Phyllis used to live there for a few years, and it was fantastic.

Phyllis showed up at Adam’s. She stated that Nick seemed to think Adam had the capacity to change. She thought she and Adam both knew that he couldn’t change. She warned him not to take advantage of Nick. She said if he did, she’d find him and come down on him like a sledgehammer. He thought his brother was lucky to have someone so protective and loyal in his corner. She said she knew what Adam was about. He said she’d been in his position – she clawed her way back to respectability, but there were some people who’d never trust her no matter how much she tried to prove herself. She told him not to compare himself to her. He’d resigned himself to the fact that some people, including her, thought he was a lost cause, but his father and brother didn’t agree. He was actually shocked Nick was willing to give him another chance. He knew there was nothing he could say to change her opinion. He didn’t want to harm anyone in his family. He just wanted a fresh start. She said a lot of people were watching and waiting for him to screw up, and when he did... He cut in and said he knew – someone would drop the hammer down. She left, pleased that her message was received.

Tara went downstairs, dressed all in black, and she pulled the bill of her hat down over her face. As soon as she got off the elevator, she ran into Ashland. He demanded to see his son, but she said they had a lot to work out before that happened. He accused her of kidnapping his son and using him as a bargaining chip. She disagreed. She said she needed assurances that if she let him see Harrison, he wouldn’t grab him and run. He said that was exactly what she did. She argued he gave her no choice. He yelled that she had every choice in the world because of the lifestyle he gave her, and it still wasn’t enough. She was in the process of yelling back that living with him wasn’t easy when Phyllis told them to stop arguing in the lobby. He said they’d go up to Tara’s suite, but Tara said no. Phyllis told Ashland to leave. Ashland told Tara she made a grave mistake. She told him she wasn’t the one who wanted to end the marriage. He said he didn’t want her anymore. The divorce paperwork had already been filed. She told him he was crazy if he thought she’d abandon her child. Phyllis threatened to call security if Ashland didn’t leave. He left. Tara thanked Phyllis. Phyllis didn’t do it for Tara. She did it for Summer. “If I find out that you are a threat to my daughter in any way, you do not count on me to be your ally. Got it?” Phyllis said. Tara understood. She knew mothers would do anything to protect their child.

Lily and Billy were at work. They talked houses, and she was leaning toward the condo on Chestnut St. He loved that building. It was a charming neighborhood, and he thought they’d be happy there. He wanted her to know there was a reason he was familiar with the building. She knew it was because he lived there with Phyllis. She asked why he didn’t tell her earlier. He didn’t think it was relevant. They wouldn’t be living in the same unit, and he didn’t want her to rule out that building just because he had a past there with someone else. She thought it might be weird – wouldn’t he have memories flooding back every time he walked into the lobby? He said he’d only be thinking about going home to her. She still wasn’t sure. He suggested they go spend some time at the condo and see if she felt uncomfortable there.

Victor and Adam met with Ashland at Society. Victor was glad Ashland looked well after the heart attack. Ashland held no hard feelings about Victor’s hardball tactics. He would’ve done the same if the roles were reversed. Victor was glad they understood each other. Ashland heard Adam had been in the hospital. He also heard his fiancee framed him for attempted murder. Ashland said sometimes in relationships, you didn’t see it coming until it was too late. He mentioned his divorce. In hindsight, it was long overdue. His concern was his son. He thought Adam would understand since he also had a young son. Adam wasn’t sure how to handle the Chelsea situation with Connor. He was in boarding school and didn’t know his mother was unwell. Ashland said that with Chelsea in a mental hospital, Adam wouldn’t have to worry about a custody war. Ashland was anticipating a knockdown drag out battle with Tara. Billy showed up and asked if they were discussing the demise of ChancComm. Adam said not everything was about Billy.

Billy wasn’t worried. Ashland didn’t know why he would be, since ChancComm was solid and could withstand some healthy competition. Billy didn’t think anything that came out of Adam’s mind would be healthy. But he said ChancComm could handle whatever Cyaxares put out. Victor revealed that they were changing the name of the company. That was news to Ashland. Billy said Victor was starting the company for his failure of a son. Adam shot back with a comment on Billy’s mommy plucking him out of the gutter and putting him on the throne at ChancComm. Victor said they were naming the company Newman Media. Billy called that adorable and said he was sure Victoria would love that. Billy continued on his way. Ashland stated that he had a lot on his mind, which was why he didn’t balk at them changing the name of the company he built. Victor asked if Ashland would’ve fought them on it. Ashland admitted he probably wouldn’t have. He thought it was a good idea for Victor to capitalize on his family name. Victor said he and Adam planned to obliterate ChancComm and fold it into their company. Ashland liked that agenda. Victor said this was war, and it was a long time coming.

Lily and Billy went to the condo. She asked if he was picturing Phyllis walking in. He asked who Phyllis was. He thought they should get more comfortable. They had a picnic on the floor. He pulled her onto his lap, and they kissed. He said this felt like home. She asked if he meant the condo, and he said “anywhere with you.”

Chloe visited Chelsea at the psychiatric facility. Chloe was heartbroken that Chelsea was here when she’d been so close to getting her freedom from her health issues and Adam. Chelsea said she’d be free soon, since she was only pretending to be crazy. Chloe didn’t know what to say about this revelation, but Chelsea felt she was doing what she had to do. She asked what Chloe was going to do when the police started harassing her. Chloe said Rey talked to her last night, and she denied everything. Chelsea said Rey came to visit her at her request. Chloe tensed up and asked what Chelsea said to him.

Chelsea said she had to tell Rey that Adam literally drove her out of her mind. Chloe thought it was best for Chelsea to stay away from the police, especially the detective she poisoned. According to Chelsea, Kevin said Rey was a really good detective, and he might catch the smallest slip. Chelsea was unhappy when Chloe revealed that she confided everything in Kevin. Chloe couldn’t lie to her husband. She trusted him with her life – he’d stood by her through all the awful things she did, and he already suspected she was involved. Chelsea swore she’d never implicate Chloe. Chloe was glad to hear that because she’d been afraid Chelsea would say the wrong thing to the wrong person. Chelsea swore she’d never let Chloe take the blame. She didn’t think Chloe did anything wrong, she’d just been an incredible friend. Chloe promised she’d be there for Chelsea no matter what.

It was time for Chloe to go home to her baby. Chelsea wished she could be with her baby. Chelsea asked Chloe to find out what was going on with Connor. She was afraid that Victor had taken him out of school, or maybe Adam violated the restraining order and was telling Connor horrible things about her. She worried he hated her. Chloe said Adam would never be able to turn Connor against Chelsea. Chloe promised to do her best to find out where Connor was, and she’d send love from Chelsea. Chloe promised to come back as soon as she could. Chelsea thanked Chloe for being such a good friend despite everything.

Victoria ran into Nina at Society. They chatted about the pregnancy, then Faith. That reminded Nina of when Chance donated part of his liver to Ronan. The son she raised came through for his half brother that he barely knew or liked. Victoria said that was the only thing Chance and Adam had in common. All Nina knew was Chance and Adam were friends who had a falling out. Victoria was glad Chance saw Adam for who he was. Nina pointed out to Victoria that Adam came through for their niece. Victoria said she wasn’t going to cut Adam slack for one good deed. Nina heard about Victor and Adam’s company. Victoria griped that Victor didn’t like her running Newman Enterprises as she saw fit, so he turned to the son who’d done nothing but let him down. Nina thought that Victoria had pretty much gotten what she wanted, now that Victor was leaving her alone to run Newman Enterprises. Victoria wanted Adam away from the family.

Rey and Sharon were at Crimson Lights. He wasn’t sure if Chelsea’s remorse last night was sincere or if she was trying to play on his sympathies so that he wouldn’t ask the judge to throw the book at her. Sharon said Chelsea was raised to be a con artist, and she could easily glide between reality and pretense. He wondered if Chelsea lost the ability to tell the difference, like she did with the delusions of Sharon and Adam having an affair under her nose. Sharon didn’t think Chelsea really believed there was an affair. She thought that Chelsea made up a story to rile Rey up and make herself look like the victim. He wasn’t convinced, he told Sharon that she didn’t see the way Chelsea unraveled. She agreed that he was right – she wasn’t there. He said if this was a calculated move on Chelsea’s part, it raised a lot of questions about the other things she said.

Rey said it was possible that Chelsea’s entire confession was a performance. He decided to talk to her doctor. Sharon wondered if Rey could let someone else do that. She was ready to put this behind them. He was too, but that couldn’t happen until there was some accountability. She didn’t disagree, but she thought it’d better if another detective handled the assignment. She thought they’d been through a lot because of Chelsea’s twisted games, and she was concerned Chelsea might come up with more fantasies about Sharon and Adam. He assured her that Chelsea couldn’t ever shake his faith in their marriage again. She trusted him, but she didn’t think he should put himself in a position where he was obsessing over Adam.

Rey couldn’t hand the case off to someone else, but he assured Sharon the end was in sight. He was just as eager as she was to get past this ugliness and focus on how lucky they were to have each other. After Rey left, Nick arrived. He texted Summer that he wanted to talk. He then went to Sharon and congratulated her. Faith told him Rey moved back home. Nick could tell how happy Sharon was just by looking at her. Sharon felt good not to have to worry about Faith and her marriage. She’d gotten a good nights sleep for the first time in a long time. Summer texted back that she was busy, but they’d talk soon. He still couldn’t believe Chelsea could do something like that. Sharon said Adam had the chance to build a new life, and hopefully a healthy relationship with his family.

Victoria walked in and overheard Nick expressing optimism about Adam turning things around. “Please don’t tell me that you’re falling for Adam’s mind games too,” she scoffed, “Especially when you’re the one who tells me that I’m too much like dad.” the siblings went out to the patio. Victoria was glad Adam helped Faith, but she wasn’t going to put blinders on. Nick saw a difference between putting blinders on and keeping an open mind. After what Adam did for his daughter, he was willing to give him a chance to prove it. He said he was also willing to let his big sister call him naive. She didn’t think he was naive, but she thought they both knew deep down Adam’s attempt to turn his life around were doomed for failure. He thought it might be different this time, in part because Adam had Victor’s support. Victoria said she and Nick both knew Adam and Victor would eventually tear each other apart.

Nick said Adam saved Faith twice, and he wanted to think that came from someplace genuine. And maybe Adam could build a foundation on that. She said he pictured a cement to put a foundation on, while she thought it was quicksand. He admitted he could be wrong. She said if he was, the consequences would be severe, because Adam devastated people’s lives when he went off the rails. She brought up Chelsea as an example – Adam broke her heart and mind. Nick thought Victoria almost sounded sympathetic. Victoria thought Chelsea should’ve seen this coming, but she still believed it was a shame. Nick wasn’t a huge fan of Adam, but he was hopeful. He asked if Victoria could give him that. She wished she could, but she said he was letting his guard down, and he knew better.
