Jack went to the restaurant door and glanced outside, while checking his watch. At the same time, Phyllis sent a text, and Nick asked what was keeping Summer and Kyle, who’d said they’d be back in a half an hour. Phyllis said they hadn’t been gone that long. Mariah stayed positive – she brought up Abby’s pre-wedding jitters and said things looked rocky then, but it turned out wonderfully. Jack replied that it was a beautiful wedding, just like Kyle and Summer’s would be. Abby wanted the party to be lively for the couple’s return, so she sent Mariah to turn up the music. Phyllis and Nick stepped into a private area. He accused her of dodging his questions, and he decided to call Summer himself. She asked him not to interfere. He wanted her to tell him everything.

Phyllis told Nick not to get mad at her, and he thought that depended on what she said. His temper flared when she revealed that Tara and Kyle had an affair, but she clarified that it was before Kyle reunited with Summer. She explained that when Tara and Ashland came to town for the Cyaxares deal, he became suspicious of her and Kyle. If Ashland found out, there would be hell to pay. Nick asked Phyllis how long she’d known about this. She stammered that she hadn’t known for long. He was upset that she didn’t tell him that the corporate titan who’d been doing business with the Newmans had it out for Summer’s fiance. She said Summer didn’t want Nick and the rest of the town to know. Nick was sure the secret would be out soon, now that Tara showed up at the party.

Abby could tell her brother wasn’t taking this well. She guessed he didn’t buy her pep talk. Jack admitted he was starting to get concerned too, but he knew there wasn’t a lot he could do about it. He called Kyle, then Summer, and it went to voicemail both times. He left Summer a message asking her to call if they needed help.

At The Grand Phoenix, Summer apprehensively paced around the lounge. She saw the missed call from Jack, and she didn’t return it.

Back at Society, Jack was starting to think something serious was going on. Mariah offered reassurance that Kyle and Summer could handle it. Across the room, Phyllis told Nick that neither of them were in the position to condemn others, since they weren’t saints and sometimes the past caught up with people. Nick asked if she expected him to allow Kyle’s past to wreck Summer’s future. Phyllis didn’t think that they should be so hard on Kyle. She pointed out that Summer and Kyle weren’t together during the affair. Nick wondered if Kyle and Summer should break up now. Phyllis thought the younger couple deserved love and support, not judgment. He asked if Jack knew. Phyllis said she thought Summer mentioned something about Kyle telling Jack. Nick strode away, as Phyllis hissed at him not to make a big deal out of this. Nick asked Jack if he’d heard from the kids. He hadn’t. Nick announced that he just found out about Kyle and Tara’s affair. Jack was confident that Kyle wouldn’t let anything come between him and Summer. Nick wasn’t convinced of that. Christian’s nanny called, so Nick stepped away. Christian couldn’t sleep, so Nick had to leave. He told Phyllis to text him if and when Summer returned. He was starting to believe he was right all along and that it would be big mistake for Summer to marry Kyle.

In the hotel suite, Kyle noted that Tara was drawing him into her battle with Ashland after she’d told Kyle goodbye forever. She pointed out that she was only in this nightmare because of her affair with Kyle. She was terrified she’d lose her son. He reminded her that they agreed it was best for Harrison if they never told anyone who his biological father was. She told him that everything had changed since that conversation. Now that Ashland tricked her into admitting to the affair, he was going after custody. She was not about to give up her son, so she told him that he needed to step up and claim paternity. Kyle reminded Tara that she’d told him it’d be worse for Harrison if Ashland found out his true paternity. Tara was frustrated that he didn’t seem to be listening to her. She stressed that Ashland was trying to punish her by taking her son away from her. She couldn’t lose her son, and the only way to stop it from happening was if Kyle claimed paternity. He wanted what was best for Harrison, but he wasn’t so sure this was a good plan. She lied about the dates of the affair so Ashland didn’t get suspicious, but now she thought the truth was the best weapon. He felt that telling the truth might be like waving a red flag in front of a bull. He thought they should take this one step at a time – she couldn’t be sure Ashland would cut her out of Harrison’s life. She said she knew for a fact that he would. Tara had bought them some time by making it look like she and Harrison were heading to Virginia. But in actuality, she came straight to Genoa City. He noted that she crashed his engagement party. She didn’t mean to get in the way of his plans with Summer, but she had no choice. She thought he was the only solution to the threat against their son.

Kyle couldn’t make a decision until he talked to Summer. Tara understood that, but she said time wasn’t on their side – soon, Ashland would figure out they weren’t in Virginia. She’d checked into the hotel under a false name, and she had a burner phone. She’d give him the number. She was sorry she dropped this on him, but their son’s future was in his hands now. She left. Later, Summer came upstairs, and Kyle brought her up to speed. He said coming forward about Harrison would be a huge step. She countered that it wasn’t a step, but a leap off a cliff. All he knew is he had to protect his son. Maybe Ashland would back off if he found out Harrison wasn’t his. Summer doubted that Ashland would just walk away from a child that he loved and raised. Kyle said they had no idea what the fallout could be – they saw what he did to Jabot, and the fallout of this could be worse. Her head was spinning. He didn’t think they could figure this out tonight, and they still had their engagement party. She asked if he was up for it. He was always up for celebrating marrying her.

Back at Society, Abby texted Nikki and Victor and told them not to come. Jack did the same with Ashley and Traci. Abby was sorry it all fell apart. Jack said they’d reschedule. Abby got the feeling Mariah didn’t agree. Mariah did agree, she was just having her first pregnancy craving, and she wanted the engagement party cake. Abby went to get a knife. Summer and Kyle returned. Jack asked what was going on. Kyle said everything was under control, and he hoped they were still in a party mood. Abby said they were. Summer asked about her dad. Phyllis said he went to check on Christian, and Kyle had better be happy about that. Summer quietly asked if Phyllis told Nick about Kyle. Phyllis said she couldn’t keep it a secret anymore – Nick loved Summer, and he wanted to help. Summer didn’t want to talk about it. “That little boy…” Phyllis started, but Summer shut down any questions. Summer trusted that Kyle would handle it. Phyllis said she and Summer had to talk later.

Mariah asked Kyle how it went. Jack pulled his son aside to ask what was really going on and if Kyle was okay. Kyle continued to to act calm cool and collected. He said he could handle this on his own. Jack trusted him. Kyle looked across the room and saw Summer looking uncomfortable.

Nick met with Phyllis at the hotel. He’d helped Christian fall asleep. His son had just needed reassurance that Faith would be okay. He was more concerned with Christian’s other sister. Phyllis said she wasn’t able to get anything out of Summer. Something didn’t seem right to Nick. He asked if Summer and Kyle were upstairs. Phyllis said she left them at Society. She didn’t want him to confront Kyle. She said they had to accept that their daughter was an adult. He thought she was probably right. They went to her suite.

Kyle and Summer were in their suite. He was sorry things didn’t turn out like they’d planned. She said it wasn’t his fault. He wasn’t sure he agreed. He announced that he’d come to a major decision about his son. Someone banged on the door, rattling them. Kyle answered it and found Ashland glaring at him.

Sharon and Rey lounged on the couch after spending the night together. She thought it was good to know, that after everything they’d been through, their love and connection was still there. They promised that no matter what happened in the future, they wouldn’t let things get to that place again. Faith came downstairs and was delighted Rey was back. She would hug him if it wouldn’t hurt too much. He asked how she felt. She felt sore, and the area around the incision was numb, but Nate told her to expect that. She didn’t complain because she knew she was lucky to be alive. Sharon noted that Faith had been sound asleep when they came home, and she asked if Faith came downstairs to get something. Faith was hungry, so Sharon went to make some food. Rey apologized to Faith about the trouble between him and her mom. Faith asked if the marriage was really back on track. He said he’d never lied to her, and he never would. He assured her he and Sharon were back on track, and they were going to last. Sharon was walking back in and she overheard Rey talking about his devotion to their marriage.

Faith said Rey’s honesty meant a lot to her. She recalled that lying got her into nothing but trouble. She hoped that if she was upfront about something, he’d do her a favor. She’d hit it off with Moses, and he was really cool. But he’d texted her that Nick told him to back off. She thought her parents were worried she wasn’t strong enough. Rey wasn’t surprised that Faith’s parents were being protective, since she just got out of surgery. He was sure they didn’t want her to be overburdened. Faith said seeing Moses would be the opposite of a burden – it’d cheer her up. He told her she’d make a good defense attorney. She asked him to help her. He didn’t make any promises, but he said he’d talk to Sharon.

Devon and Amanda were at his place. Amanda had her doubts about Imani’s motives for wanting to meet with her. He suggested that Imani just didn’t want to be the last person in Amanda’s family who was standing in her way and that she wanted an actual relationship. Amanda hoped so, but she thought there was a possibility that Imani was following the adage of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. She decided to keep her guard up with Imani. She thanked him for having her back. He said she never had to thank him – he’d always be there for her. Moses walked downstairs without taking his eyes off his phone. Amanda figured that was her cue to leave, and she said hi and bye to Moses. Devon reminded Amanda that she was in control and she could walk away from Imani any time.

Later, Moses and Devon watched baseball. Moses flashed back to some of the times he’d spent with Faith, which caused him to miss a great play his team made. Devon asked what had Moses preoccupied. Moses hadn’t had much time to connect with Faith recently, because her dad told him to back off. Devon said not to take it personally – Sharon and Nick were good people who were probably being overly cautious. Moses said Faith had been through a lot, and he wanted to be there for her. Devon wanted to know the nature of Moses and Faith’s relationship. He knew kids didn’t want to talk about things like this, but he had to ask, because he was looking after Moses. Moses said he and Faith weren’t in a relationship. “We’re a thing. No labels,” he stated. He said they were friends, and for more than half the time he’d known Faith, she was in the hospital. He liked her a lot, though. It didn’t surprise Devon that Moses had a thing for Faith, but he thought he needed to be a little overprotective and give Moses the guidance that Neil would’ve given him. Moses asked if Devon thought Neil would disapprove of him seeing Faith. Devon didn’t think Neil would disapprove, and he didn’t disapprove either, but he understood that Nick and Sharon didn’t want Faith and Moses rushing into anything, because Faith had been through a lot. Devon lightened the mood and said maybe Faith’s parents didn’t want Moses around because his jokes weren’t funny, and she needed to laugh during her time of recovery. Moses laughed, but he said Faith wasn’t just some girl – she got his jokes, and she got his ambitions. He wanted to be there for her, and he wasn’t going anywhere. Faith texted to ask if she’d see Moses soon, and he smiled.

Faith received a thumbs up emoji from Moses. She smiled and went upstairs. Sharon returned with Faith’s sandwich. She was touched by what Rey said to Faith about the marriage. She wanted him to know she was holding up her end of the marriage too, and she’d do everything she could to make sure they didn’t go off track again.

Amanda met Imani at Crimson Lights. They were both early, and Amanda wondered if that was a family trait. Imani said possibly. She was just grateful that Amanda agreed to meet. She hoped she’d be allowed to help with her grandfather’s case. Amanda clarified that Sutton was their shared grandfather. Imani was still getting used to that. Amanda needed more answers before she could consider working with Imani. Amanda wanted to know if Imani chose to accept her as family or if Sutton forced her hand. Imani said she made her own decisions, which might be something else she and Amanda had in common. She didn’t deny that their grandfather had strong opinions and made them known, but she refused to be bullied. She said she chose to accept Amanda as family. Amanda asked if Sutton viewed his political career as a moral responsibility or the family business. Imani thought that sounded like a trick question. She said he viewed his political career as his family’s lifeblood, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t passionate about helping his constituents. Amanda asked if Sutton was willing to pay people off. Imani said that if Sutton thought the influx of Newman business would help the community, he wouldn’t have let red tape get in the way. He may have cut a few corners, but he wouldn’t have had anyone killed to keep the arrangement a secret. Amanda wondered how Imani was so certain about something that happened before she was even born. Imani knew and trusted her family. Amanda asked if Imani thought Sutton was capable of murder, even if he didn’t kill Richard. Imani noted that Amanda was just full of questions tonight. She wondered if she was being put to the wringer to see if she passed muster or if Amanda thought she might reveal a deep dark family secret. Amanda just wanted to see who she was dealing with. Imani said from a defense standpoint, it shouldn’t matter whether she thought Sutton was capable of murder. She asked what Amanda was really after. Amanda wanted to know what everyone in her new family thought about everyone else. Imani thought that was fair, and she found Amanda’s honesty and bluntness refreshing. “And to answer your question about Grandfather, yes,” Imani said. Imani thought, under the right circumstances, most people were capable of almost anything. It just depended on how far someone was pushed. But being capable of something wasn’t a crime. Amanda didn’t disagree. She welcomed Imani to the team.

Amanda went back to Devon’s. She couldn’t figure her half sister out. On the surface, Imani seemed devoted to the family, but Amanda sensed she was holding something back. She told Devon that Imani said Sutton was capable of murder. She conceded Imani had framed it as a rhetorical answer, rather than something based in history. However, Amanda didn’t understand why Imani wouldn’t just say no. She wondered if there was some hidden message in Imani’s response. This made her more determined to learn everything she could about her relatives. If there was a missing piece of the puzzle, she wanted to find it. He asked what if this puzzle pieces was bleaker than she expected. She was prepared for anything, and if it helped the case, great. If it hurt the case, she’d do what she could to bury it. He asked her to be careful. She had to go get back to work. He suggested she stay with him tonight, so she didn’t get burned out. She smiled and headed up to his bedroom.
