Kyle went to Jabot and asked if Jack had a minute to talk. Jack hoped it wasn’t more bad news. Kyle knew Jack was disappointed in the way he and Summer handled things with Sally, not to mention his decision to show up for the meeting with Ashland. He apologized. He had something serious to discuss, but he had what he hoped Jack would see as good news. He said he and Summer were engaged again, and this time it was for keeps. He added that they’d actually been engaged for awhile, but they didn’t want to keep it private anymore. Jack brought up the uncertainties about Ashland. Kyle knew Ashland had a reputation for going after his enemies and their families, but he said there was no way Ashland would get through him to get to Summer. He refused to put his life on hold for Ashland. Kyle was going to tell Jack about Billy’s call, but Jack already talked to Billy, who’d let him know that there were dark rumors about Jabot going around - unsafe working conditions, mistreatment of employees etc. Kyle was convinced Locke was behind it. The thought crossed Jack’s mind, but he wanted proof. Kyle said that by the time they got proof, the damage might be done.

Summer went to The Grand Phoenix to meet with her parents. She announced that she and Kyle were engaged. Phyllis said that was great. Nick wanted Summer to be happy, but the last time she came to them with this news, she bolted on Kyle and disappeared. She said she panicked, but she and Kyle worked through it, and they wanted to be together forever. He wanted to talk to Kyle man to man, then he’d feel more comfortable with this. He had to go to court for Faith, but he wanted to talk to Summer later. She said to tell Faith she was rooting for her. He left. Summer tried to leave too, but Phyllis called her out on just walking away. Summer was still angry with Phyllis, to the point that she’d been tempted not to tell Phyllis about the engagement. She shared the news with Phyllis because it was the right thing to do, not because she forgave her. The unapologetic Phyllis said she did what she did because Sally was a threat to Jack and Summer. She vowed to always love and protect Summer, and she told Summer to deal with it. Summer didn’t expect Phyllis to change, but this hit too close to home. Summer said she’d been so worried that Sally was a threat to her job, then Phyllis almost made her lose her job. She loved Phyllis because that was her mom, but it was going to take her awhile to get over this. Phyllis asked if it’d help her to know Jack ended things with Sally. Summer admitted that was something to be grateful for, and she thanked Phyllis.

After Summer left, Jack went to the hotel and talked to Phyllis about the engagement. He didn’t have a problem with it; he loved Summer, but it was hard for him to separate it from everything else. He wasn’t happy with the way Summer and Kyle handled Sally, and he said Kyle, Summer and Sally were to blame. Phyllis knew Jack was hurt, but she hoped he didn’t hold what happened with Sally against Summer. She said there was blame to go around, but not everyone deserved the same share. She conceded that one could say Summer overreacted when she went to L.A. to get the dirt on Sally, but she was following her gut, which turned out to be right. She said Summer’s sins didn’t compare to Sally’s. Jack started to defend Sally, then he realized what he was doing and said he had to break the habit of sticking up for her. He said Phyllis opened his eyes, and he noted that she never said “I told you so.” She said she’d never do that to him ever, but then she joked that she might be saving it for another day.

Kyle and Summer were in their hotel suite. He wasn’t surprised Nick didn’t seem thrilled about the engagement. Summer said dads never liked the guy who whisked away their daughter. He thought Nick took it to a new level. He knew their track record wasn’t perfect, but they’d been the perfect couple since they got back together, and he wouldn’t mind Nick recognizing that. His phone rang, but she enticed him away for a shared shower instead of answering it, so he didn’t notice it was Tara calling. Later, he checked his phone and called Tara back. She confided that she and Ashland got in an awful fight. Kyle asked if they were fighting over him. Tara didn’t answer. She ended the call, stating that Harrison needed her, and ehe said she’d call back later. Kyle brought Summer up to speed. He had an uneasy feeling.

Sharon was surprised when Rey walked into the cottage, because she didn’t realize he’d left. He said he’d gone to the gym to clear his head, and he bought Faith’s favorite drink from Crimson Lights to wish her luck in court. She thought he was coming to court, but he felt that was Faith’s parents job. Sharon wanted to talk, but he didn’t think there was a point, because there was far too much pain and too little trust between them. He still intended to leave after everything settled with Faith. Faith came downstairs dressed for court. She apologized for what she’d done. Sharon offered supportive words. Rey was proud Faith took responsibility for her actions. He told her she was more brave and responsible than some adults he knew. Sharon’s smile faded, and she looked back at Rey. He told Faith he loved her, then he left. Faith asked Sharon if she was okay. She said she was, she just wanted to be the best mom she could be for Faith, and she couldn’t think of anything else. Nick arrived. Faith was scared about going to court for the first time. Nick said he and Sharon had been to court many times, and he told Faith to be respectful and polite. Sharon added honest. Christine arrived and assured Faith that everyone was nervous when they went to court the first time. Sharon and Nick made it clear that they’d support Faith. Nick said Faith could go back to school after class. Faith thought she’d probably get a lot of weird looks at school because she missed class for court, but she was sure she could handle it.

Sharon and Nick took Faith to Crimson Lights after court. She received a $500 fine, 100 hours of community service, and she had to go to an outpatient clinic for substance abuse. The charge would be expunged once she turned 17, once she completed her sentence. Nick thought it was fair. Faith said she’d babysit Christian and do extra chores to earn the money. She’d saved up some money that she could use, too. They were proud of Faith for the way she handled herself in court. Faith was relieved it was all over. She knew the kids would stare at her at school. Jordan’s friends blamed Faith for her getting suspended. It wasn’t great, but she was going to face the bullies with her head up.

At Walnut Grove, Faith said hi to a boy, who ignored her. She was getting something from her locker when another boy, Wayne, accused her of getting Jordan suspended. Jordan was his lab partner, and he was mad because he needed her notes. He called Faith a loser. Moses came over and stood up for Faith. Wayne told Moses to back off. Moses asked if Faith knew this kid, and she said Wayne was in her homeroom. Moses noted that Faith called Wayne by his name instead of a lame insult. Moses thought Wayne looked like a wuss. Wayne was offended. Moses said Faith had too much class to call Wayne out, but Moses didn’t have a problem doing it. He told Wayne off, and told him to leave. He did. Faith told Moses he was brutal. Moses said Wayne deserved it – he was tough when he was bullying a girl, but a wimp when he was called out. Faith appreciated the defense, but she could fight her own battles. Moses said he was doing Wayne a favor, because Faith probably would’ve been really hard on him and made him cry.

Victoria met Nikki at Society to talk about something she wasn’t comfortable saying in the office. She thought Victor was letting Adam hide out at the ranch. She’d seen a rare brand of scotch at the main house, and she happened to know it was Adam’s favorite. Nikki didn’t know whether or not Victor was hiding Adam, but she wasn’t surprised if he was. Victoria didn’t understand why Nikki was shrugging off Victor lying to her. Nikki wasn’t shrugging it off, but she knew that Victor would also hide Victoria if the shoe were on the other foot. Victoria said that wasn’t the point. Nikki saw no reason to get worked up into a frenzy. Victoria asked if there was anything Victor could could do to upset Nikki. Nikki scoffed and said she’d been angry with Victor a lot over the years, and that’s how she learned to pick her battles. Nikki said this wasn’t black and white – Adam saved Faith’s life, and they were grateful, and Adam couldn’t stay hidden forever. Eventually, he’d be found. Victoria pointed out that he’d gotten away with a lot of things. Nikki thought Victoria should be savoring her win of Ashland’s company. She was sure all the other stuff would work out. She left for a meeting. Victoria called Rey and left him a message. Rey arrived and told Victoria he to make it quick because he had a lot on his plate. She told him about the bottle of scotch and glass she saw at the ranch. She said that her dad drank tequila, and her mom didn’t drink at all. He thanked her and left. She smiled.

Rey went to the main house, and he saw the bottle of scotch Victoria mentioned. Victor walked in for the meeting with Rey. Rey was looking for Adam. Victor pretended he wished Rey would find Adam, so Victor would know Adam was safe. Rey commented on the rare brand of scotch, which was still on the wet bar. He told Victor that it was illegal to harbor a suspect. Victor said everyone knew about that law, but if Rey was looking for justice, he should go see Chelsea. He thought Chelsea’s sudden progress was convenient. Rey said he’d take that under advisement, but he wanted to look around if Victor didn’t mind. Victor did mind, and he said if Rey didn’t have a search warrant, he could leave. Rey said Victor proved his theory. Victor asked who put the theory in his head, and Rey said it was Victoria. Rey left.

At the penthouse, Chelsea video chatted with Connor. He’d been starting to get worried since he hadn’t heard from her in so long. He asked if she was okay. She said seeing his handsome face was all she needed. She told him she was getting better and better every day, and they’d be able to see each other soon. He asked to talk to Adam. She said he wanted to be there, but he was working with Victor today. Connor was happy at school, getting good grades and making friends. He had to go to class, so they ended the call. Chelsea called the headmaster. She was sure the school had heard the stories about Adam, and she said they were true. She intended to file a restraining order against Adam, because he was a danger to himself, to Connor and to anyone else he came in contact with. The doorbell rang, and she ended the call and got back in her wheelchair. She weakly told the person to come in. It was Rey. He asked if she was alone, and she said she was trying to make do until her new nurse was assigned. He asked if she knew where Adam might be. She reiterated that he should ask Sharon.

Rey said he got a tip that Adam was at the ranch. He was able to search a few of the buildings, without a warrant, but he saw no sign of him. She told him about her talk with Connor’s headmaster and her intention to file a restraining order. Rey thought it was smart. He was glad to see she’d recovered to the point that she didn’t need a nurse – she was improving so fast. She said it seemed like something was weighing on him, and she apologized for the crack she made about Sharon earlier. He thought it was best if they left his marriage out of this. She was just thinking how similar their situations were, thanks to Adam. He said they weren’t similar. She asked if he was sure. She said she thought she and Adam were building a future and had a family to cherish. She hoped he and Sharon could persevere. She was okay with ending up alone, but she’d hate for that to happen to him because of Adam’s obsession with his wife. She hoped Sharon owned up to her part in this.

Rey went home and asked Sharon how Faith did in court. She said Faith was so strong and mature. She wished Rey had been there. He told her to stop, because nothing had changed – he still intended to leave when things settled with Faith. He asked if she understood. She did. “If that’s the way you want it,” she said. He told her searched the ranch for Adam. She was surprised Adam was on the ranch. He hoped that her surprise was genuine. She swore she had no idea, and he believed her, but he was sure she could understand why he was suspicious, after all her lies and evasions. He left.

Victoria got summoned to the ranch by Victor. He told her that she betrayed him. He noted that he’d told her several times that family trouble stayed in the family. He told her to go look around the ranch, and she’d see that Adam wasn’t there. She supposed Victor helped him move on, because she was sure he’d been staying at the ranch. She told him that his precious Adam tried to kill a cop. He insisted that Adam was innocent. She yelled that his blind loyalty to Adam was going to push the rest of the family further and further away. He yelled back that he was blindly loyal to all his children. Nikki walked in on the screaming and asked what was going on. Victor told her about Victoria going to Rey. Nikki said this was no time for this kind of divisiveness. He told Nikki to stay out of it. “This is between your daughter and me,” he said, and he left the room. Nikki said Victor was wrong – anything that affected this family involved her.
