At the lake room, Sharon theorized that Chelsea saw the picture of Adam kissing her. Adam confirmed that Chelsea knew about it, since Chloe brought it up in her presence. He thought that he’d helped stoke the flames when he insisted that Sharon treat Chelsea. Sharon admitted she shouldn’t have gotten involved in that. She recognized that there were many times she should’ve pulled away, and she didn’t. He said the irony was Sharon’s provocation therapy may have spurred Chelsea’s recovery. Sharon wondered if it also spurred Chelsea to poison Rey. “Am I the reason why Rey almost died?,” Sharon questioned. Adam wouldn’t let her take responsibility for that, since all she did was help him and Chelsea. She countered that the kiss didn’t help anyone. She wished she put a stop to it. He said if anyone was to blame, it was him, he caused Chelsea’s condition, he got Sharon involved in Chelsea’s treatment and he initiated the kiss. She didn’t have time to debate this – Faith was being released today. He said he was glad Faith was doing well and that Sharon had been there for him – he was there for her if she needed anything. She urged him to turn himself in, so they could find the truth the right way.

Adam couldn’t put his life in Rey’s hands and trust him to investigate Chelsea. Sharon thought Rey would take her seriously if she backed up Adam’s story. Adam said it wouldn’t matter – Chelsea had fooled them all, and she was good enough to fool Rey too. He said Chelsea had to slip up on her own, she couldn’t be cornered.

Michael was at the cottage with Rey. All the viable leads for Adam were dead ends. Michael hoped the APB would be productive, but he said this wouldn’t be the first time Adam disappeared without a trace. Rey would bet his badge that Adam was close by. Sharon came home, and Michael asked about Faith. Sharon said she’d be home soon. He was glad. He knew what it was like to have a child who struggled with substance abuse. He asked Rey to keep him updated, then he left. She started making plans for Faith’s arrival. He asked if she’d been with Faith earlier. She said yes, and he told her she wasn’t.

Rey knew Sharon wasn’t at the hospital, because he’d been texting with Mariah, who was actually at the hospital with Faith. Sharon tried to pretend that she and Mariah had just missed each other. He wished he could believe that, but it didn’t take a trained investigator to see something was going on with her. He said Nick saw it too. She accused him of interrogating her like a common criminal. She was upset he’d gone behind her back and talked to Nick when she already told him she didn’t like that. He thought she knew where Adam was. He hated to think she was helping Adam, but he could see that she’d been an emotional wreck. She thought that was understandable, given the circumstances. He told her that he recognized the signs, and she had little tells when it came to Adam. He said Adam always turned to her when he was desperate. He understood she was vulnerable and grateful to Adam for saving Faith, but that didn’t excuse what Adam did. He couldn’t believe she just forgave Adam for trying to kill him. He said she was lying to protect the man who brought literal poison into her home. She blurted out that Adam was innocent. “And yes, he has been in touch with me, but he did not try to poison anyone. It was Chelsea all along,” she revealed.

At the Grand Phoenix, Nick told Phyllis he wanted to have dinner with his three favorite girls, her, Faith and Summer. She thought they should see if Faith was up for it. He said it wasn’t really about Faith, it was about Summer. He was concerned about the argument he saw Phyllis having with Summer. He didn’t think it was really about work, and he wanted a straight answer. She said she’d been trying to ease Sally out of town, and he commented that everything she did these days involved Sally. She told him how her plan to get Lauren to transfer Sally to L.A. backfired, and now Summer was mad at her for overstepping. Phyllis insisted she was trying to protect her daughter. Nick didn’t think this was just about Summer, because he knew Phyllis had also been trying to protect Jack. Nick reminded her that he told her to stop meddling in Jack’s personal life. Phyllis was unrepentant about trying to protect people she loved. Nick stated that everyone in this drama Phyllis created was an adult, including their daughter, so he thought she should stay out of it. He said she betrayed their daughter’s trust by going behind her back to her boss. Phyllis said Lauren was her friend, but Nick asked what if this affected Summer’s job or relationship with Lauren. He told her to let this go before it snowballed.

Talk turned to Faith, who couldn’t wait to get out of the hospital. Nick wouldn’t relax until she was 100% physically and mentally. Phyllis was sure he’d make sure that happened, since he was such a good dad. She said she’d help, but he didn’t need her when he had Sharon’s expertise. He didn't know if Sharon was in the best place to help Faith. He suspected Adam reached out to Sharon and she was lying about it. Phyllis called Nick a hypocrite because he was protecting his ex. He said of course he wanted to protect Sharon, because that went hand in hand with protecting their daughter. Phyllis countered that she was protecting her daughter. Nick replied that Faith was still a child who needed both her parents to look out for her. Phyllis was glad that Nick stopped saying kind things about Adam. Nick still wanted to thank Adam, but only as he was on his way into jail. She doubted Adam left close for the police. He thought he might find a lead of his own. She asked what that meant, and he said he’d let her know. He left.

At the penthouse, Chelsea told Chloe that Sharon met with Adam. Chloe was surprised Sharon didn’t turn Adam in to Rey. Chelsea griped that Sharon didn’t care about Rey; all she cared about was saving Adam for herself, so they could run off and live happily ever after. Chelsea sensed that Sharon suspected she poisoned Rey. Chelsea thought Adam was using Sharon to set a trap for her. Chelsea paced around the penthouse and griped about Sharon and Adam being unable to resist each other. Chloe wasn’t concerned about that. She wanted to come up with a plan to make sure they didn’t fall into Adam’s trap, because she was not going down for this. Chelsea wanted to pick up the phone and tell the police Sharon confessed to harboring a fugitive, but she knew she couldn’t do that, because people would be suspicious of her miraculous recovery. Chloe said it had to come out organically so that it wouldn’t be traced to Chelsea.

Chelsea went on a rant. She was finally out of the chair and she could move and talk, but she was still trapped. It was driving her crazy. Meanwhile, Adam had an attempted murder charge hanging over his head, and he still found a way to carry on with Sharon. Nick showed up, so Chelsea played incapacitated again. He was so sorry she was going through this. She said he wasn’t half as sorry as Adam would be. He heard Adam was responsible for the fall that probably caused this. She thought that Adam was a liar who betrayed her in every way possible. Nick wished he could hear what Chelsea was thinking. Chelsea thought to herself that she needed Nick to go after Adam, so he’d get arrested and she and Connor could be free for good. Chloe asked Nick to leave so Chelsea could rest. Nick got the feeling Chelsea wanted him to stay. He never understood Chelsea and Sharon’s connection to Adam, and how everyone always seemed to be able forgive him, but now he was starting to see it a little. He was standing somewhere between hatred and gratitude for his brother, because he saved Faith’s life. “No. NO!,” Chelsea internally yelled. He told Chelsea the whole story, and she thought to herself that she didn’t want him to fall for it and give Adam the benefit of the doubt. He knew Adam should go to jail for what he did to Rey, but he also wanted to thank him. She didn’t think Adam deserved Nick’s gratitude. He asked if they heard from Adam. Chloe said no, and if she did, she would turn him in. Chelsea didn’t understand why the police hadn’t found Adam before he could come after her. He said that Adam hadn’t tried to contact Connor or Sharon either. Chelsea thought that, thanks to Sharon, he’d get a chance to get revenge. She was upset because she thought Adam was going to get treated like a hero instead of an attempted murderer, and she decided to do something about it. Nick got up to leave, and he stopped because he heard Chelsea make a gurgling noise. “Sharon knows,” Chelsea weakly announced.

At Jabot, Summer asked why Kyle thought Ashland was toying with him. He told her he could just feel it. Ashland didn’t say anything hostile or accusatory during the call, but that made Kyle even more suspicious about Ashland doing a complete 180 on the deal he proposed. He’d wondered all along if the proposal for Jabot was a smoke screen. Lauren arrived for her meeting with Summer, so Kyle left. Lauren asked Summer why she pretended she’d made peace with Sally, then flew to L.A. to get dirt on her. Summer said she went to L.A. to make a deal for JCV, which was a success, and the Sally thing was a side project that was purely a defensive maneuver. Summer just wanted some insurance to make sure Sally didn’t do anything shady to steal her job. Lauren said you kept your job by doing it well, not by blackmailing someone to leave you alone. She asked if Summer had that little faith in herself. Summer explained that she panicked and felt insecure after she saw how close Lauren and Summer were getting. She was sorry she played this devious game, because it led Sally to retaliate. Lauren was disappointed. She’d wanted to mentor both of them, and she thought it was going well, but now she knew they were only pretending to get along. Summer was sorry, but Lauren said apologies didn’t cut it. She couldn’t have them going back to blackmail.

At Crimson Lights, Jack wanted to understand how Sally ended up on both Lauren and Phyllis’s bad side. He wanted complete honestly going forward. She warned him that it wasn’t pretty. She explained that Theo told her about Kyle having an affair with Ashland’s wife. She wasn’t blaming it all on Theo, but she just wanted to make it clear that she didn’t go out of her way to get something to hold over Kyle and Summer’s head. It just dropped into her lap. Jack asked if Theo came to her with this out of the blue. He realized that Theo was in town in February, and all this time Sally had been claiming that Summer invented a power struggle that didn’t exist. Sally said she already admitted she foolishly overreacted when Summer confronted her. Jack pointed out that she’d been involved in blackmail. Sally said it was Kyle’s story to tell, not hers. Jack said that was how blackmail worked – you held a secret over someone’s head. She said she was desperate to maintain her new life here, and she had to do something to ward off Summer’s attacks. “She forced my hand. She started this whole thing by going to L.A. just to dig up dirt on me,” she said. He asked what dirt.

Sally said she respected Jack too much to lie. She did some things in L.A. that she regretted. He needed details. She felt that if she was guilty of anything, it was loving someone too much. She lost her boyfriend to an old flame, then he came crawling back to Sally, because the other woman did something awful – something worse than Sally ever did. Sally and Wyatt got back together, then he left her for Flo again. Jack said Wyatt had no right to jerk Sally around. Something inside Sally snapped, and she pretended to be deathly ill in hopes that Wyatt would be by her side in her time of need. She was planning a miraculous recovery, but then Flo figured out what she was up to. Sally was in too deep, and she just lost it, and she held Flo against her will, so she couldn’t get to Wyatt first. Jack’s jaw dropped. Sally swore she didn’t mean Flo any harm, she just needed to get to Wyatt before Flo could. Jack said this was kidnapping. Sally knew she went too far, but back then, all she could see was the guy she loved being snatched. She was fighting the feeling of being abandoned again. Jack compared it to Sally being abandoned by her parents. Sally had been dealing with an aching need to matter to someone, and she knew what she did was wrong, but her motives were pure. She just wanted love and not to be alone. She’d grown since then, and she’d started over and done things right. She said she hadn’t looked for trouble, but it kept finding her, so she handled it the only way she could.

Sally hoped Jack could find a way to understand and give her a chance to redeem herself. He said he’d always given her the benefit of the doubt, despite countless warnings. She knew, and his support meant the world to her, especially knowing he had lapses in judgment when he was young. He wished she told him sooner, especially about his son, now this situation with Ashland was precarious at best. She was sorry if she had anything to do with that. She asked where this left things between them. He thought they had to slow things down. He thanked her for her honesty. He left, and she wiped away a tear.

Lauren brought Sally and Summer together at Society. They both apologized, and Lauren said that wasn’t going to cut it because they both had dirt on each other. Lauren told them there was no place for gossip, blackmail and cat fights in the office. Women had to support women. She made it clear that they had to handle any conflicts in a forthright manner, because she was not going to have this discussion with them again. Summer and Sally both left. Phyllis charged into Society and confronted Lauren for repeating their personal conversation to Sally. Now Phyllis had a problem with her daughter. Lauren said she wasn’t going to let Sally or Summer threaten the success of her company. Phyllis ordered Lauren not to put her daughter in the same category as Sally. Lauren said she had a frank conversation with both women, and they admitted their mistakes and apologized. Lauren intended to keep a very close eye on them both. “Need I remind you what you were like at that age?,” Phyllis asked. Lauren didn’t need a refresher. “Then you remember that the next time you decide to lecture MY daughter,” Phyllis snapped. Michael arrived, just as Phyllis went barreling out of the restaurant. He asked Lauren what was going on.

Lauren brought Michael up to speed on Sally and Summer. She’d never been so disappointed in her life. He suggested they get a couple’s massage. She liked the idea, but it was going to take a good therapist to help her take her mind off those two. She hoped she got through to them, because she’d hate to lose them.

Kyle met with Jack at Jabot and told him about Ashland canceling the deal. Jack said it could be a business decision, but Kyle felt like Ashland was playing mind games. Kyle figured Tara would know for sure, but he knew he shouldn’t be talking to her. Jack ordered Kyle not to call Tara and not to make any more unilateral moves like he did when he showed up at the meeting with Ashland. Kyle asked what was wrong. Jack said he’d had a very illuminating and troubling conversation with Sally.

Jack asked why Kyle didn’t mention that Sally was blackmailing him and Summer. Kyle asked if this was about the affair. Jack said yes, unless Sally was holding something else over Kyle. Kyle said he tried to tell Jack that Sally was opportunistic, but he didn’t want to hear it. Jack stated that Summer made her own opportunistic move when she blackmailed Sally. Kyle said Summer was protecting herself because Sally was going after her job. Jack said Sally felt she was protecting herself. Kyle asked if Jack was still defending Sally. Jack couldn’t defend the way any of them handled this situation.

Jack was alone in the boardroom now. He called Ashland to ask why he pulled out of the deal. He left a message and asked Ashland to call back, so they could try and work something out.

Summer and Kyle were at the hotel in the lounge, and she told him about getting read the riot act from Lauren. Sally came up and said Lauren was right – things got out of hand. Kyle suggested they all put down the swords and pick up an olive branch. Phyllis was headed into the lounge, but she stopped short when she saw the trio talking. They called a truce. Summer said she didn’t tell anyone about Sally’s secret, and she hoped Sally would do the same with Summer and Kyle’s secret. Sally agreed. Kyle and Summer headed away. Phyllis approached Summer wanting to talk, but Summer refused because he blamed Phyllis for this whole mess. Phyllis glared at Sally.
