Adam paced around the room by the lake where he was hiding out. He was relieved when Sharon arrived. She brought him food and some clothes. He was starting to think she’d abandoned him. She wanted to help him, even though it might be against her better judgment. Adam knew Sharon was making a sacrifice for him. She said he saved her daughter’s life, and if he didn’t try to kill Rey, she needed to know who did. He said he’d never forget this. She was ready to get to work.

Chloe was at the penthouse with Chelsea. She finished a call with Kevin. Chelsea asked if there was news on Adam. Chloe said the police thought he was still in the area. Chelsea noted that yesterday, Chloe said she thought Adam would come after them. Chloe still felt that way, and she was terrified Adam would use Bella or Miles to exact revenge, which is why she thought they had to come up with a plan to lure him out of hiding and make sure he’d be sent away for good. She had an idea, but she knew Chelsea wouldn’t like it, because the trap involved the one thing that would make Adam risk capture. Chelsea flatly refused to consider using Connor as bait. Chloe said they wouldn’t really use him, they’d just make Adam think Connor was sick. Chelsea thought that so many things could go wrong with that plan. Chloe was sure it’d go fine. She said she’d have Rey set up a sting operation. They heard Sharon urgently saying she needed to come in, so Chelsea got back in her chair, and Chloe went to the door. Sharon asked to talk to Chelsea alone, so Chloe went to the kitchen. Sharon whispered that she heard from Adam, and he was safe and nearby. Sharon said she was speaking softly because Chloe would probably turn Adam in. Chelsea thought to herself that she would too. Sharon stated that she’d seen Adam, and he asked her to check in on Chelsea. She mentioned that Adam saved Faith’s life, and she owed him so much. Chelsea internally grumbled that Adam would do anything for his precious Sharon, even risk getting caught. Sharon said she wanted to find out who really poisoned Rey to repay Adam. Chelsea thought to herself that she wanted Sharon to stay out of it. Sharon asked if it was okay to go upstairs and get some things Adam asked for. Chelsea blinked yes. Sharon went upstairs, and Chelsea moved around and groaned in frustration. Later, when Sharon returned, she promised Chelsea she’d do everything in her power to clear Adam’s name, then he could come home to Chelsea. Sharon left. Chelsea jumped up and said she had to follow Sharon.

Sharon met with Adam again at the room near the lake. She didn’t see any signs that Chelsea had improved, but she did sense a disturbing vibe in Chelsea, right behind her eyes. He lamented that things got so messed up – all he’d wanted was to help Chelsea recover. He said if he was right, something pushed Chelsea over the edge. “That something is me. Adam, that something is us,” Sharon said.

Phyllis saw Sally leave The Grand Phoenix. As soon as she was gone, Summer rushed up and blamed Phyllis for putting her in a terrible position with her boss. Phyllis acted like she had no role in this, but Summer told her that playing innocent wasn’t her strong suit. Summer theorized that Phyllis said something to Lauren, Lauren went to Sally about it, and Sally confronted Summer. Now Sally was a wild card who’d expose Kyle’s secret whenever she wanted. Phyllis said she was just trying to give Sally a nudge to go back to L.A. and she asked Lauren for help, but Lauren wanted to know her motives. Summer thought Phyllis betrayed her trust, but Phyllis denied telling Lauren anything specific. Summer argued that Phyllis said enough to put Lauren on Sally’s case, which put Sally on Summer’s case. Phyllis stated that Summer was smart and savvy, but Phyllis had a lot of experience with women like Lauren. Summer was upset because she’d begged Phyllis not to interfere. Phyllis called Sally the queen of lies and tricks. Phyllis felt that she needed to step in. Summer told Phyllis to step somewhere else next time, and she stormed off. She said hello to Nick as she left and he entered.

Nick asked what was going on. Phyllis said Summer was just upset about a work thing that he didn’t have to worry about, since he had so much going on. She asked how Faith was. She’d get released soon, but he knew the next few months would be rough with rehab, therapy, court ordered community service. He said he had to be grateful to Adam, of all people, for saving his little girl’s life. Nick had been eager to track down the Good Samaritan, then he found out it was Adam, and he didn’t know how to feel. Phyllis commented on Adam stopping to save an accident victim while he was running from the police. Nick said Adam did something heroic, and all his hatred and anger toward Adam didn’t erase that fact. Phyllis acknowledged that Adam did one good thing in his miserable life, but she told Nick not to forget that he was still Adam. She stated that Adam tried to kill Rey, he tried to kill Victor, and he stole Faith as a newborn and let everyone think she died. Nick assured Phyllis that he didn’t have a crazy positive epiphany about his psycho brother. The problem was he didn’t know what to do with all this gratitude. She told him to light a candle or something and let it go.

Lauren met Jack at Jabot. She told him she was worried about him, her company, Summer and Sally. He hoped she wasn’t buying into Phyllis’s unfounded grievances. Lauren informed Jack that they weren’t unfounded – the battle between Sally and Summer was far from over. Lauren said Summer may have been the one to start the fight, and it forced Sally to defensively retaliate. He was upset because he thought this was finished. She was questioning her decision to hire Sally in the first place. She loved a good underdog story, but some people were underdogs for good reason. Lauren conceded she’d done a lot of morally questionable things, and that’s why she wanted to give Sally the benefit of the doubt. She said Sally lied and deliberately covered up this ongoing battle. She was equally upset with Summer. She trusted her with JCV, and she expected more from her. He asked what exactly Sally did to disappoint Lauren. She wished she knew the whole story, and she thought he should talk to Sally.

Jack tracked Sally down at Crimson Lights, through her assistant. He asked how she managed to upset Lauren. Sally didn’t know Lauren was so upset that she’d go to Jack. Jack said Sally was dodging the question, just like she did before when he asked why Phyllis was so upset. She asked if she still had his support, because as much fun as they were having, they were still getting to know each other. She said maybe she was as bad as everyone said she was, and he should walk away. He never thought she was a saint – he knew that no one was all good or all bad, and he wasn’t going to judge. He wanted to help her, but he couldn’t unless she was upfront with him.

Summer went to Jabot. Lauren called and said they needed to talk in person. Summer agreed. The call ended, and Kyle walked up and asked what was going on. She said, thanks to her mom, they had to worry about Sally all over again. He told her to forget about Sally, because things had gotten worse. He said Ashland called and said he changed his mind about doing business with Jabot. She didn’t see the problem, since he didn’t want to work with Ashland anyway. He said Ashland suddenly changed his mind after personally meeting with him. He was sure Ashland was toying with him, and he was afraid this might just be the beginning.

Naya came to see Amanda at her suite, because she heard about Sutton and Amanda’s visit. Naya said if she’d known her father was going to drop by, she would’ve warned Amanda. Amanda said that his visit was enlightening, and Naya was pleased because she’d worried it would backfire and make Amanda refuse to take the case. Amanda wanted honest answers about her family before she made her decision. Naya wasn’t sure what that would entail. She just wanted Amanda to know her family believed in her. Amanda was glad to hear that, but she wanted to know about her father. Naya said she and Richard never had the chance to get serious; she never fell in love with him. He had a larger than life personality: fun, sexy and he made her laugh, but he wasn’t ready to settle down. He was focused on his future, and driven. She thought that Amanda got that drive from Richard. Amanda said Sutton thought she got her drive from him. Naya laughed and said it ran on both sides of the family. Amanda asked about Sutton’s legal team. Naya said the family wanted Amanda to head up the team. Amanda asked whose idea that was. Naya convinced her father to go along with it. Amanda asked if Imani was on board with it. Naya admitted that Imani thought hiring Amanda was a mistake, but she’d withdrawn the restraining order, and she’d accepted that this was what the family wanted. A family that would hopefully include Amanda. Amanda didn’t want conflict with Imani. She wanted peace with Naya and Sutton, but she wanted the same with her sister. Amanda took the case, and Naya praised God.

Devon, Mariah and Abby were all at the Chancellor mansion, because they were going to the appointment together. Abby was nervous, and she needed Devon’s calming influence. He promised he’d be there for her, especially with Chance away. Abby was cautiously optimistic about the pregnancy test. She didn’t want to get her hopes up too high. Mariah suggested they visualize a positive outcome, since Tessa swore positive thoughts made a difference. Abby couldn’t wait another minute. At the hospital, Elena told Devon that she didn't know he’d be there. She was administering the pregnancy test because Mariah’s doctor wasn’t there. Elena hoped for the best – she thought what they were doing was wonderful. Abby said Devon and Mariah were the real heroes. Devon thanked Elena, and she and Mariah left.

Elena and Mariah returned, and Elena said Mariah was pregnant. Abby and Devon cheered. Mariah said she wasn’t pregnant – they were pregnant – Abby’s egg, her uterus, Devon’s DNA and Chance’s love. Elena congratulated them and made a quick exit. Mariah felt hungry, so she went to get a snack. Abby was overjoyed. Devon was sorry Chance wasn’t there to experience this with Abby. Abby was making a video diary for him, but it wasn’t the same. She hadn’t spoken to Chance since he went undercover, and it was killing her. Devon promised he’d be there for her in the meantime. Devon said Chance would come home to a baby.

Amanda ran into Devon at Crimson Lights. He told her about the pregnancy. She congratulated him. He felt strange to know his DNA was growing into a human being. As his attorney, she was glad things were proceeding according to plan, but she could imagine the memories this was bringing up to him. He said it really wasn’t, because he and Hilary were planning to raise their child together, and he knew the terms of his agreement with Abby. He didn’t see this as a second chance. He said that it was actually happening – a child partially conceived by him was growing in Mariah. Amanda asked if that scared him. He said no; he felt closer to Mariah and Abby than he ever had before.

Devon asked about Amanda. She was going to take her grandfather’s case. She said Naya opened up about her father today in a way Amanda hoped she would. She thought the more she learned about her family, the more she’d understand herself. He thought so too, because he saw himself in a different light when he learned Tucker was his biological dad. She was glad she ran into him, because she told Sutton that she’d only take his case if they kept their relationship a secret. Devon was the only one who knew, and she wanted him to keep it private. He said of course. It made him happy she was moving forward with this on her terms. She stated that Sutton was able to tap straight into her vulnerabilities – he knew that because she never knew where she came from, she’d spent her entire life trying to fit in and that she lived in fear of where the journey might take her. Amanda said all that could change as she learned more about who she was and who she was made of. He asked if that scared her. It didn’t. She’d wanted this her entire life, and she couldn’t wait.

Mariah and Abby were back at the Chancellor mansion. Abby felt like they got so lucky to get pregnant on their first IVF try. In nine months, they’d meet her baby. Mariah said she had to prepare for morning sickness, bloating and shopping for maternity clothes. Abby promised to be there for anything Mariah needed. Mariah touched her belly and told the baby that its mommy was already taking care of them. Tessa came home, so Abby stepped into another room to give them privacy. Tessa was thrilled when Mariah told her the news. Mariah said it was a little weird – it wasn’t every day you happily told your life partner you were having someone else’s baby, but this all felt right. Tessa said she couldn’t be more in love with Mariah, who was the most loving person she knew.

Abby, now alone in her living room, recorded a video for Chance. “Mariah is pregnant with our baby. Our baby.” She loved and missed him.
