Sharon was with Adam at the place he was hiding out. She warned him not to take her presence as a sign she thought he was innocent. He told her that it meant everything to him that she was there. He said he could never poison Rey. She alluded to his past, and he said wouldn’t go after Rey. She brought up all the evidence against him, and he said it was planted by Chelsea. She was skeptical because Chelsea could barely move a muscle. When he told her that he Chelsea was faking, she countered that she’d seen Chelsea’s struggles up close. He explained that, as he was leaving his house to go on the run, he saw Chelsea move her head and smile, like she was relishing in framing him. She said that was a far cry from attempted murder and framing him. He hadn’t figured out how Chelsea did it yet. She noted that Chelsea would have to fool doctors and nurses, and he reminded Sharon that Chelsea spent years as a con artist and excelled at deception. Sharon asked how Chelsea managed to leave home and break into Sharon’s house. He thought that Chloe helped. She had a hard time believing Chloe could concoct such an elaborate plot – what did she gain from poisoning Rey? He said maybe Rey was an innocent victim, maybe Chelsea wanted Sharon out of the way, and maybe Chloe showed her the picture of Sharon and Adam’s kiss and it pushed her over the edge. Sharon said no, because only Rey’s things were tainted – someone wanted him gone. Adam didn’t realize Rey was the target – the news hadn’t gone into detail. He realized she still didn’t believe him. She said he wouldn’t let her go, and in his mind, the only thing standing in the way of them being together was her husband.

Adam swore he’d never try to end Sharon’s marriage, he asked why he’d do that when he had Chelsea and Connor. She said he’d been lonely since Chelsea had the stroke. She thought he made his feelings clear with the kiss. He said that the kiss was a one time impulsive act. He never stopped loving Chelsea, and he was hoping and praying she’d recovery. Sharon couldn’t forget the kiss, and the text messages. Adam clarified that he didn’t send the texts. He thought Chelsea and Chloe sent them to create evidence for the police to find. He was pleased when Sharon said she didn’t share the texts with anyone. He said she knew the real him, and he wouldn’t hurt Rey. She wanted to believe him, but she had so many questions. It killed him that Chelsea would do this. He suggested the stroke had a deep psychological impact, maybe Chelsea blamed him for her condition, with good reason. Or maybe his plan to have Sharon work with Chelsea backfired. Sharon had a hard time believing Chelsea would frame the father of her son. He said Chelsea might think she was protecting Connor, or maybe she wasn’t thinking at all. He said Chelsea needed help. Sharon thought Adam should turn himself in and let the police investigate. Adam didn’t think that would work, because Rey and Paul already thought he was guilty, and they wouldn’t believe it was Chelsea. He wanted Sharon to goad Chelsea into proving her true condition. He asked her to go see Chelsea and tell her that she’d met with him and was helping him. He said to act like Chelsea would be thrilled to know he was okay. He thought maybe that would lure her into following Sharon in hopes of finding Adam. She wasn’t sure about this, but he said Sharon was his only hope. She asked what if Chelsea sent the police to follow her. He said that Chelsea would have to reveal herself to tip the police off. Sharon said this was all too much, and she shouldn’t have come. She felt she should be with her family. Adam knew Sharon was overwhelmed, but he asked her to consider what he was saying, and he asked her not to tell anyone where he was, especially Rey. She left.

Chloe arrived at the penthouse. Meredith stated that she was disturbed by the situation with Adam, and she wasn’t comfortable working there anymore. Chloe explained that Meredith asked her to stay with Chelsea while they arranged for a new nurse. Meredith went to pack her things. “Goodbye and good riddance,” Chelsea said with a smile. Meredith left for good, and Chelsea sprang from her chair, happy that she didn’t have to keep faking. Chloe wasn’t happy that she had to leave her children for a few days to help Chelsea keep up the pretense that she hadn’t recovered. Chelsea said that they were both trapped until Adam was captured. Chloe felt like she was in so deep that she had no choice but to see it through, but she was scared she’d lose her kids and Kevin. Chelsea was optimistic, since they’d made it this far without any trouble. Chelsea asked if Kevin said anything about how the search was going. According to Kevin, the police had no leads. Chelsea thought Adam left the country, which was fine by her. She hoped he lived his whole life on the run far away from her and his precious Sharon, who was probably angry he’d poisoned her husband. Chloe said the police were monitoring the airports, train stations and Adam’s credit cards, and he hadn’t left. Chloe thought Adam was somewhere hiding and plotting his next move. Chelsea said Adam knew he’d never get a fair trial here, so she truly believed he’d cut his losses and left town. Chloe said they couldn’t afford to sit back and hope he’d accept defeat. Chelsea was sure that there was nothing left for Adam. Chloe said there was something left – Chelsea. Chelsea said Adam didn’t love her. “Who said anything about love?,” Chloe asked. Chloe said Adam knew he was set up, and he was going to figure out that it was Chloe and Chelsea, if he hadn’t already, and then he was going to come after them with a vengeance. “We have to take care of Adam before he takes care of us,” Chloe said.

At ChancComm, Billy wanted to do a followup article on Adam, something that would put Rey’s poisoning into context. Lily told Billy to drop the idea of doing another attack on Adam. He felt that it was becoming a habit of hers to shut him down. He’d wanted her to at least consider it for half a second. She was very concerned with how he lost perspective when it came to the Newmans, and that was why she wasn’t comfortable teaming up with Victoria to go after Cyaxares. He said he’d told her he wouldn’t go down a rabbit hole, and he wished she had more faith in him. She trusted him, but she didn’t think going after Cyaxares was a good idea. He asked if she was opposed to partnering with Victoria because she was his ex. She admitted that was part of it – they knew Victoria had feelings for him, so she’d rather not deal with Victoria more often than she already did. She believed in what she and Billy had, and if she thought this was good for the company, she’d agree to it, even though Victoria was involved. He said it was good for the company, but she maintained that there was no deal that was worth getting into the middle of a Newman family war. She was sure Jill would agree.

At Crimson Lights, Sally video chatted with her grandma. Shirley didn’t believe Sally was just checking in. she was sure Sally was either plotting or in trouble. “You’re welcome, by the way for sending you that check,” Sally said. Shirley said things had been a little tough since she and Coco left L.A. but they’d always been a family that shared the wealth, and Coco told her about Sally’s big promotion. Sally said it wasn’t that big – she was just a junior executive. She just wanted Shirley to know things were going well professionally and personally. Shirley asked what his name was, and Sally said Jack Abbott. Shirley was very impressed Sally landed a big shot. Sally said she didn’t care about that, Jack was kind, smart and funny, and he really got her. Shirley hoped Sally could get her a lifetime supply of Jabot makeup. Lauren walked in, and Sally ended the call. Lauren said that she ran a company, and she needed to be able to rely on Sally. She asked if Sally was still trying to make trouble for Summer. Sally admitted to being a little disappointed Summer was chosen to run JCV, but she said she was way over that. Lauren asked what was going on with Sally and Summer. Sally said that Summer went to L.A. to dig up dirt on her. Lauren asked if there was dirt to dig up. Sally didn’t respond, so Lauren said she could call Bill Spencer or Eric Forrester, but she’d rather hear it from Sally. Sally said she came here for a fresh start. Lauren asked why, and Sally said those reasons were private.

Lauren asked what compelled Summer to research Sally’s past. Sally said Summer was the kind of person who felt threatened and took preemptive action. Sally had to fight back to protect herself. Lauren wanted to know what Sally did to fight back. Sally said it didn’t matter, because it was over now, but Lauren demanded an answer. Sally admitted she found out some information that Summer didn’t want anyone else to know, but she said she was only using it as insurance to stop Summer from telling the world about her past. Lauren said some people would call that blackmail. She expected so much more out of Sally and Summer. She couldn’t believe how much energy was wasted on this conflict, especially after Sally said that proving how valuable she was to Fenmore’s was her top priority. Lauren was deeply disappointed, and she needed time to process things and figure out what to do next.

At Society, Kyle laughed nervously. Ashland repeated his question. “Did you sleep with my wife?,” he asked. Summer was looking in the window and she saw Ashland and Kyle. Kyle chuckled and said he always heard Ashland liked to play games with people. He acted like he thought Ashland was making a ridiculous accusation, and he decided to leave rather than waste his time. Ashland laughed and told Kyle to sit. Ashland said he’d been suspicious of Kyle and Tara, so he put Kyle to the test, and he passed. Ashland said that if Kyle had gotten angry or indignant, he would’ve known he was right, but instead, Kyle laughed it off. Ashland was relieved to be mistaken, because if he ever found out someone slept with Tara, that person would be in a world of trouble. Ashland and Kyle talked business, then Summer walked in and said hello. Ashland had another matter to attend to, so he left. Kyle told Summer what happened. Summer assumed things were fine now, judging by the friendly way that Ashland and Kyle’s conversation ended. Kyle said that sometimes the way things looked and the way things really were weren’t always the same. He was worried he could be in real trouble if Ashland started digging around. He thought he needed to talk to someone who was familiar with Locke’s playbook.

Jack was at Jabot. He called Kyle asking for an update. Billy came in, and Jack said he wouldn’t give him the money to make another bid for Cyaxares. Billy said they didn’t need it, because they had another source – Newman. Jack thought that made sense, because Billy and Victoria both wanted to shut Adam and Victor down. Billy said they both wanted their companies to succeed – it wasn’t just a personal battle. Jack asked if Lily was on board, and Billy said no. He was there because he needed a non-judgmental sounding board. Jack promised to do his best. Billy wanted to beat Victor, but he truly believed this was a good opportunity for ChancComm. If he and Lily were just business partners, he’d tell her they were doing it his way, and he wouldn’t care what she said, but he was crazy about her. He said she’d been good to him and made him a better man. Walking way from the deal would kill him, but if he didn’t, it could change or end his relationship with Lily. He asked if Jack had advice. Jack thought Billy already knew exactly what to do.

Billy met Victoria at The Grand Phoenix and told her that he’d be passing on her offer. She was caught off guard because he’d seemed on board a couple hours ago. She asked if he was okay with Adam and Victor winning. He thought that Ashland would pull out of the deal now that Adam was on the run. She thought Ashland might still sell to Victor. He said he wasn’t afraid of Victor. She stressed that Victor would destroy Billy and he wouldn’t rest until ChancComm was dead. She wished he’d take the lifeline she was throwing him. He appreciated her concern, but he wasn’t going to change his mind. She knew he’d wanted to make this deal happen, but maybe maybe what he wanted wasn’t as important as what his girlfriend wanted. She asked who was calling the shots, him or Lily. He warned her not to go there again.

Kyle met Jack at Jabot and told him about the talk with Ashland. Jack thought it sounded like Ashland knew about the affair.

Ashland went to his suite. He called someone and told them to get him the financials on Jabot Cosmetics and highlight the weaknesses for him.

Sally confronted Summer at Society. Sally said she thought they had an understanding – Summer kept her mouth shut, and Sally would keep quiet about what she knew. Sally accused Summer of going to Lauren and telling her Sally was holding something over her. “You betrayed my trust, Summer. A big mistake,” Sally snapped. Summer said she didn’t do anything. Sally didn’t believe her – she said she knew what Summer did, and she wouldn’t forget it.
