Faith woke up in her hospital room and saw her parents smiling at her. Nick and Sharon assured Faith that her recovery was going well, and if things continued on that path, she might be able to come home sooner than they originally thought. Faith asked if they figured out who rescued her. Nick promised that they’d find out. Sharon said she was going to go to Crimson Lights for a bit. Nick told a cheesy joke, and Faith laughed, grimaced in pain and wondered why everyone kept trying to make her laugh. Sharon offered to bring Faith some clothes from home. Faith figured the outfit she’d been wearing was ruined in the accident, sighed about doing something so dangerous. Nick and Sharon were just glad Faith was okay, and they vowed to get her the help she needed so she could heal physically and mentally.
At the penthouse, Devon was happy to see his little brother, Moses. Moses appreciated Devon giving him a place to stay so he could shadow Nate and learn about being a doctor. He also thanked Devon for enrolling him in Walnut Grove. Devon didn’t need thanks for that, since Moses was family. Nate said that he found Moses wandering around the ICU, flirting with the patients. Moses denied flirting and said he went to the hospital because he couldn’t wait to see Nate in action. Nate planned to show Moses that no matter what obstacles were thrown in your path, it was possible to be a great doctor. Moses wanted to learn about medicine from every angle, so he’d take all the role models he could get. Devon felt that Moses chose the best with Nate. Nate clarified that there were a lot of talented doctors at Memorial, but Devon said no one was more dedicated than Nate. He said Nate worked at full time hospital, he put in hours at the clinic and he worked on an online medical program with Lily. Nate said there wouldn’t be a clinic if Devon didn’t fund the place. He called Devon a local hero. Moses felt lucky. Devon said they were all lucky, and he learned that from their dad. Moses said Neil was his inspiration too. Moses took a lot of science classes and studied hard so that he could get into pre-med programs, then after Neil died suddenly, he knew he wanted to be a doctor to help catch things that people might miss. Nate felt blessed to practice medicine, but it wasn’t easy. Moses was ready to put in the work, because he’d never wanted anything more. He was grateful that Nate was willing to teach him. Devon was too.
Moses asked when he could start volunteering at the hospital, and Nate said he’d set it up. Devon announced that he’d arranged for Moses to intern at the clinic a few days a week after school. Nate said they also might set up an internship at the online medical site he was part of, AskMDNow. Devon teased that Nate was an internet star. After Nate left, Moses apologized more than once for going to the hospital after his flight landed instead of to Devon’s, like he was supposed to. Devon didn’t mind at all, because he thought it showed how excited Moses was about medicine. He was impressed listening to Moses talking about becoming a doctor. Moses said Neil told him that Devon did something similar as a teen – he’d wanted to be a musician, and now he was a music mogul. Moses wanted to hear about Devon’s career. Devon enjoyed his work, but the music industry wasn’t as glamorous as it seemed from the outside. He said he and Neil shared music. Moses thought it was great that Nate and Devon were so close – they even built the clinic together. Moses’ mom, Sofia gave him the impression that Devon had a live in girlfriend, and he didn’t want to get in the way. Devon said it was just going to be him and Moses at the house.
At Society, Lola was shocked that Adam was the one who poisoned Rey. Rey asked if she was really that surprised. She said she was shocked, but not surprised. She recalled that Adam tampered with Victor’s medication. She ranted about all the things Adam gotten away with because he had money and connections and was a Newman. Rey said none of that would save Adam this time. Lola didn’t think Rey should be working on this case, but he said he was a professional, and he wouldn’t let his emotions cloud his judgment. Elena arrived, and Rey left. Elena and Lola talked about the girls’ night they were having to take Abby and Mariah’s mind off the embryo transfer. Lola wanted to make sure Elena was comfortable celebrating Mariah’s possible pregnancy with Devon’s child. Elena said she and Devon never seriously talked about kids. Of course, she’d pictured having his baby, but if Mariah conceived, she’d be carrying Abby and Chance’s baby, not Devon’s. Lola asked how Elena really felt. Elena said Devon was trying to make things work with Amanda, and the time Nate used to spend with Elena was now being spent mentoring his cousin. She felt like everyone was moving on but her.
Lola said she was so caught up in trying to save her relationship with Kyle, then it just ended, and he moved on. She felt like something was missing, then she realized the things that were missing were the drama and the self-doubt. When her marriage ended, she regained the sense of who she was. She said Elena had incredible friends, she saved people for a living, and she still had the number of that guy she met at the bar the other night. Elena didn’t plan to text that guy back. The last thing she wanted to think about was men. Nate walked in and chatted with Lola about Rey. Lola was always going to be grateful that Elena and Nate figured out how to help Rey. Lola made up an excuse to leave Elena and Nate alone. Nate said Lola was right – he and Elena did work well together. She assumed they weren’t going to try again. He saw no point when she still wasn’t finished sorting out her feelings for Devon. He wished it weren’t true, but he wouldn’t be able to trust Elena again. She understood. He added that they did work together beautifully as doctors, though. She was glad that they could do that, and so was he. He left. Lola came back. Elena sighed that she was a mess when it came to men. She decided to follow in Lola’s footsteps and take a break from romance for the time being.
Nikki and Victor finished dinner at The Grand Phoenix. She wanted him to go with her to the hospital to visit Faith. He had to meet his lawyer to finalize the contract with Ashland first. She was disappointed, and she wondered if he was trying to avoid seeing Faith right now. He insisted that he wanted to see Faith. She knew he loved his family, and she said Faith’s accident was a terrifying reminder of how they lost Cassie. She wondered if he was worried he wouldn’t be able to control his emotions in the ICU. He noted that he’d already gone to visit Faith. Nikki said Faith was awake now, and she needed him. She left.
Devon took Moses to the hotel, and they ran into Victor. Victor was happy to see Moses again and asked how long he’d be in town. Moses was staying at least through the end of the school year. Victor mentioned that he thought highly of Neil, and Moses said Neil talked a lot about Victor too. Moses excused himself to use his phone, and Devon chatted with Victor. Devon wanted Moses to live with him because he thought Moses was still struggling with Neil’s death. Victor said Moses couldn’t be in a better place or with a better person. Victor said he and Abby really appreciated Devon helping her start a family. Moses returned. Victor was sure Neil would be proud of Devon for helping Moses.
After Victor left, Moses asked if Devon and Abby were more than friends. Devon said Abby was happily married to another one of his friends. He wondered why Moses was interested in his love life. Moses had been happy to when his mom told him that Devon had a girlfriend. He didn’t get to spend much time with Hilary, then Neil died right after she did. Devon said it was a rough couple years, but he’d been living his life again. Moses smiled and asked if Devon was seeing someone. Devon said he’d been seeing someone named Amanda, and he kind of screwed things up with her, but right now he was focused on Moses.
At Crimson Lights, Sharon got a text from Adam begging her for help. Nick walked in and told her that Nikki was with Faith. He sensed something was going on with Sharon. He told her that earlier, in the hospital, she seemed thrown by a text, and when he came in just now, she was staring at her phone with the same expression. He asked if it was Adam. She said on top of her worry for Faith, Adam was also stressing her out. She was constantly checking her news feed to see if he was found and wondering if he was capable of poisoning Rey. She worried what would happen if Rey was the one who found Adam. He was sure Rey would be professional. He’d asked Rey if they could take a look at the hospital security footage so they could find out who brought Faith in. He wanted to talk to this person. He said the man had proven there was some good left in the world, and he wasn’t going to stop until he found out who it was.
At the hospital, Nikki gave Faith an update on her horse, Patches. Nikki had ridden and groomed her. Faith appreciated Nikki looking after her horse for her. Faith asked if Victor hated her for stealing his tequila and wrecking the truck. Nikki assured Faith that her grandfather adored her more than words could say. She said Victor visited earlier, and he’d been so upset. Nikki felt that she’d failed Faith by leaving her alone after she found out Jordan tricked her. Sharon walked in and overheard Nikki. Faith said it wasn’t Nikki’s fault. She said she made a mistake and she had to make it up to everyone. Sharon told Nikki not to blame herself for believing Faith when she said she was okay. Sharon stated that Faith had gotten adept at hiding pain. Sharon wished she’d been more proactive about getting Faith into therapy, but she knew there was no point in second-guessing herself. Nikki said that Sharon was right - they had to move forward. Nikki asked for more time with Faith, and Sharon said of course. She stepped out to give Faith more time with her grandmother. Later, Nikki got a text, and she smiled and left the room. Faith opened her eyes and smiled when she saw Victor walk in. he brought a little chessboard for them to play with. She apologized. He was happy she was okay. He set up the board.
Rey went to Crimson Lights and gave Nick the security footage from the hospital when Faith was brought in. They watched it together and recognized the guy in a hoodie carrying Faith as Adam. Rey said that Adam knew he had the entire GCPD and the state police looking for him, and he still took the time to pull over and see if he could help the person in the accident. Nick wondered if Adam caused the accident, but Rey said all indications showed that Faith lost control of the truck. “So Adam was on the run from poisoning you, and he stopped and risked everything to save my daughter’s life,” Nick said.
Sharon went home and texted Adam to ask where he was. “Lake,” he replied. She sat down on the couch.
