At the cottage, Rey asked Sharon if she knew where Adam was. She called the situation unbelievable. “To think that he might have tried to kill you?,” she added. He hoped she wasn’t defending Adam. She stated that she wouldn’t and couldn’t do that. He told her not to protect Adam, and he asked where Adam would go. She suggested Vegas or Kansas, but he said that was too obvious. He pressed her to think, and she felt like she was being interrogated. He said that he was just asking questions. She thought he didn’t believe her answers. He stated that she had challenges in the past when it came to telling the truth about Adam. As an example, Rey brought up the missing knickknacks, which Sharon never mentioned were gifts from Adam. Sharon thought that was a different situation. She said that if Adam really did poison him… He bristled because of her use of the word “if.” She explained that she’d said “if” because it made her sick to think someone she cared about would hurt the man she loved. He pointed out that if she or Faith had come in contact with the thallium, all of them could’ve landed in the ICU. He was adamant that Adam was dangerous and he needed to be stopped. She promised to help any way she could. He told her to come to him immediately if Adam contacted her. Then, he left to find Adam, himself.
Nikki went to tell Faith that the food was ready and discovered she’d left the main house. She then noticed that the bottle of tequila was gone. Nikki ran to Sharon’s and asked if Faith was there. Sharon didn’t understand – Faith was supposed to be at Nikki’s. Nikki told Sharon that Faith’s secret admirer was a catfish. Sharon gasped. Nikki believed that was the term for someone online who pretended to be someone else. Sharon asked who it was. Nikki said Jordan did it to humiliate Faith. Sharon said she knew Jordan was bad news. Nikki said she talked with Faith about it and told her she’d get past this, and Faith seemed to agree. Sharon stated that Faith had become an expert at pretending. Nikki explained that Faith left the house and wasn’t answering her calls. Sharon reasoned that Faith was avoiding Nikki out of embarrassment. Sharon left a sympathetic and loving voicemail for Faith and asked her to come home. Afterward, Nikki revealed that a bottle of tequila was missing. “Are you kidding me? You let my little girl get her hands on a bottom of alcohol?,” Sharon demanded.
Nick was at The Grand Phoenix. He called Faith, and she didn’t answer. He had no idea anything was wrong, and he left voicemail asking her to call him back. Sharon called Nick and told him the whole story. She thought Faith was drinking to numb the pain and maybe to punish herself. She said Nikki was talking to ranch security. He said he was on his way, and he promised they’d find Faith. “We have to,” Sharon cried.
Faith was hiding out in the stables. She got a flurry of texts from the bullies telling her she was pathetic, unlovable and worthless. She wept, then she opened the bottle of tequila.
At Society, Rey asked Victor where Adam was. Victor asked why. Rey told Victor about the arrest warrant and the charges. Victor accused Rey of drumming up murder charges against Adam to save his fragile marriage. Rey stated that there was plenty of evidence, and he said that if Victor was hiding Adam, he’d have him charged with aiding and abetting. Victor couldn’t say where Adam was. “You can’t or you wont,” Rey demanded. Victor ordered him to watch his tone. Rey brought up the time Adam tampered with Victor’s medicine. Victor said he had no idea where his son was, but if he had to guess, he’d venture Adam was with the woman he loved, who’d suffered a debilitating stroke. Rey said that Adam left the penthouse and ran off on the woman he loved. He warned Victor that if he obstructed justice, he’d have to pay the consequences. Victor stood up and warned Rey not to ever threaten him again.
Rey met Michael at Crimson Lights. Michael thought the case against Adam seemed pretty damning, and running made him look worse. Rey was worried Victor would help Adam stay off the radar. Michael said it wouldn’t be the first time Victor put someone on a private jet. Rey already checked the airfield to make sure Adam didn’t board a plane. Rey thought it was incredible that Victor would protect Adam, after everything Adam did, even almost killing him. Surprising, isn’t it – the lengths we go to to protect our children, Michael mused. Sharon called Rey and asked him to come home because Faith was missing. He promised it’d all be okay. The call ended, and he told Michael that kids were bullying Faith. He needed to get back to the ranch, but he wished he could be the one to arrest Adam. Michael said to go find Faith, take care of Sharon, then get back on Adam’s trail. Rey said thanks and left.
Lauren met Michael. He told her that Adam had gone off th deep end again. She sensed something was eating at Michael. He told her what little he knew about Faith’s situation. It reminded Lauren of how she bullied Traci, and she felt terrible about her actions. It reminded Michael of when Fenmore bullied that boy. Lauren remembered his name was Jamie Vernon. She thought about him sometimes. So did Michael. He was glad Fen turned his life around. He said that being bullied himself probably gave Fen some perspective. She wondered what happened to Jamie. He told her that Jamie was practicing law now, and he had a great career ahead of him. She was glad to hear that. She also believed that, with the love and support of her family, Faith would be okay. Lauren asked how much vacation time Michael had coming soon. He said not enough. She wanted to go on that Hawaiian vacation he promised her. She wanted him all to herself.
Chelsea walked around the penthouse and froze when she heard a knock on the door. She heard Chloe calling out, so she answered it and asked if Chloe brought champagne. Chloe didn’t think Chelsea should take the risk of getting out of her chair when Meredith could catch her. Chelsea explained that Meredith was on a break, because Adam was supposed to be taking care of her. Chloe asked if Adam left Chelsea, believing she was incapacitated. Chelsea said he had no choice, because he was on the run from the police. She grinned and said her plan worked perfectly and Adam was finally out of her life.
Chloe wanted details, but Chelsea felt it would be better of Chloe didn’t know, so she’d have plausible deniability. Chloe felt that she had the right to know what she’d been mixed up in, since she was the one who ran around completing all the errands. Chelsea said it was enough for Rey to show up with a search warrant. She thought Adam took off because he realized he was about to get arrested. Chelsea didn’t know exactly what Rey found, but she was sure that he found the items from Sharon’s house that Chloe planted in Adam’s car. Chloe was pleased with herself because she’d hidden the knickknacks well. Chelsea crowed that Rey also found the poison she hid upstairs. “Whoa. Wait. Poison? You never mentioned anything about poison” Chloe replied. Chelsea said that it had to be a big enough crime to put Adam away for good, so he couldn’t come after her and Connor. Shaken, Chloe recalled Kevin telling her that Rey was in the ICU. Smiling ear to ear, Chelsea said her favorite part was when Adam put the pieces together and realized he’d been framed. It was hard for Chelsea not to laugh in his face. She was pleased to finally be free of him.
Chloe disapproved of Chelsea’s actions. Chelsea thought Chloe would be applauding her for getting Adam out of her life. Chloe didn’t give a damn what happened to Adam, but she was upset because Rey could’ve died. Chelsea said she was careful not to give Rey enough poison to kill him. Chloe scoffed about Chelsea suddenly being an expert at dosing poison. She asked what if Faith or Sharon had been exposed. Chelsea dismissed the concern, noting that everything worked out fine. Chloe said Chelsea promised no one but Adam would get hurt, but Rey was an innocent victim. Chelsea said Rey was fine, and Adam was on the run. She felt that the ends justified the means. She was sure no one would suspect her or Chloe. “You better pray you’re right,” Chloe replied. Chelsea stated that everyone knew what Adam was capable of, so poisoning Rey wouldn’t really be anything new. Chelsea said that the article came out about Adam and made him look like a monster, then the picture of him kissing Sharon, then the desperate texts he seemingly sent were proof that Adam wanted Rey out of the picture so he could have Sharon to himself, then he made it happen. Chloe countered that Chelsea made it happened – she poisoned a police detective, and now, thanks to her, Chloe was an accessory to a major crime.
Chelsea said to calm down, because Adam would be blamed for the poisoning. Chloe didn’t want to go to prison and leave her kids. Chelsea was sure that wouldn’t happen. Chloe contended that Chelsea mislead her into thinking that the plan wouldn’t be dangerous. Planting Sharon’s knickknacks in Adam’s car and sending the texts seemed harmless. She’d assumed Chelsea was just going to set Adam up for a burglary charge or accuse him and Sharon of having an affair, not attempted murder. Chelsea promised that Chloe wouldn’t go to prison. She said kept the details from Chloe for her own safety. Chloe argued that nothing about this plan was safe for anyone. Victor knocked, and Chelsea hopped back in her chair, then Chloe got the door. He was looking for Adam. Chloe said he wasn’t there. Victor asked her to have Chelsea’s nurse call him. He told Chelsea not to pay Rey any mind. He said he knew she and Adam loved each other, and he promised that he’d bring Adam back to her. Chelsea thought to herself that not even the great Victor Newman could put things back together this time.
Victor left. Chloe said that he’d move heaven and earth to protect Adam, and he’d get his investigative team to figure out the truth. Chelsea was confident that her plan would work. Her doctors would verify that she’d been stuck in the chair for months, and everyone thought she was still Adam’s loyal and loving partner. “What about me,” Chloe asked. Chelsea said they had nothing to worry about, unless Chloe turned on her. “Do I have to worry about my best friend turning me in?,” Chelsea asked. Chloe said they were in this together, and if Chelsea went down, so would Chloe. Chloe didn’t want to be kept in the dark again, though. She wasn’t trying to act like she’d never crossed the line, especially with Adam, but she’d promised Kevin, and herself that she’d never allow her hatred of Adam to drive her to commit crimes. She felt she had to set an example for her children. Chelsea thought they did this for a good cause, but Chloe maintained that there was no way to justify this. Chloe said that even at her worst, she never put an innocent person’s life in danger. Chelsea countered that Rey survived. She was sorry for putting Chloe in an uncomfortable position, though. She said she never could’ve gotten through all this without Chloe. Chloe was glad they were friends, despite this. Chelsea said she owed Chloe, and Chloe agreed. She planned to have Chelsea babysit while she and Kevin went on vacation, and that was the tip of the iceberg. Chloe asked what next. Chelsea said they’d wait. She couldn’t make a miraculous recovery now, because that would be too suspicious. She planned to bide her time and sit motionless and silent while the police searched for Adam. She said if he was smart, he was on a plane to a country with a no extradition policy.
Adam walked into Crimson Lights wearing a hoodie with the hood up. He spotted Michael and left without getting noticed.
Sharon, Nick, Nikki and Victor were all at the cottage. Sharon left Faith another message. Victor talked to his security team. No one had seen Faith, but he recognized that the ranch was a large place. Nikki said Faith knew the property like the back of her hand – every hill and stream. Sharon was disgusted by Jordan. Nick really thought they’d solved this problem by telling the school about the bullying. He wasn’t sure what to do next. Victor got a call notifying him that one of the ranch trucks was missing.
One of the security guards saw a truck with a blonde girl behind the wheel. He didn’t stop her, because one of the ranch hands had a blonde daughter who used that truck sometimes. Alarmed, Sharon said Faith didn’t even have a learner’s permit. Nick pointed out that all the kids on the ranch learned to drive early, starting with the golf carts. Sharon countered that this was an actual truck. She thought they should have Rey call it in. Victor said the police had already been notified. Sharon was terrified – Faith was behind the wheel, in the dark and possibly under the influence. Nick remembered he’d installed a Find My Kid app on Faith’s phone. He pulled up the app and briefly got Faith’s signal, but it kept dropping out, because cell service was spotty in this area. He decided to drive around and look for her, and Sharon decided to go too. She asked Victor and Nikki to call if they heard anything.
Nikki beat herself up for leaving Faith alone, but Victor said it wasn’t her fault. He wished to talk to Jordan. He also wished Faith had confided in him the way she used to. She said Faith had been through so much and at such a young age. She wanted to hold Faith and never let go. He was sure Nick would find her. Rey got home and asked if there was news on Faith. He had some officers looking for her. Victor asked if it was the same guys who were wasting time looking for his innocent son. Rey asked where Sharon was, and Nikki brought him up to speed.
Nick and Sharon were in his car. He told her not to let him go to Jordan’s house and read her parents the riot act. He was done letting the school handle it. He vowed to stick up for his daughter. Right now all Sharon could think about was finding their baby. Sharon picked up Faith’s location on the app. She was just over the hill, but she hoped it was wrong, because according to the app, Faith was driving really fast.
Faith was speeding with tear-filled eyes and a hardened look on her face. She got a text message from a girl, and she took a hand off the steering wheel and reached for her phone in the passenger seat. Someone blew their horn. Faith sat up, looked terrified and tried to regain control of the vehicle.
