Victor went to Adam’s and said he thought they’d be hearing from Ashland today. Adam had been second-guessing his pitch, and Victor told him not to ever do that. He thought Adam’s pitch was impressive and that he’d convinced Ashland. Adam had dreams of making Cyaxares huge. Victor said that even if they didn’t get this company, there would be opportunities for more acquisitions. He said he and Adam were partners now. Adam was amazed Victor was willing to alienate Victoria. Victor stated that Victoria had her chance and she turned it down, then she’d made the egregious mistake of trying to acquire Cyaxares behind her back. Adam wondered why Victoria changed her mind about Cyaxares. Victor didn’t know or care. “I have a feeling she must’ve known what that would mean to go up against me, up against us,” Victor said.

Adam thought Victoria made a pretty smart move by turning down Victor’s offer and making her own move for Cyaxares. Adam said Victoria had always been a good and loyal daughter, but she wanted to show Victor that she could do this deal on her own terms. He admired her for it. Victor was surprised to hear that. Adam knew this cut Victor deeper than he wanted to admit and that it was probably driving a wedge between Victor and Victoria. He was sure the family was appalled Victor teamed up with him, and he didn’t blame them for feeling that way, because he’d hurt Victor. Adam admitted that the damage he’d done and previously planned to do was appalling. Victor always had faith that Adam would evolve into the man he was now. He said he’d made it clear to the family that he’d never turn his back on Adam. Adam was determined to prove that Victor was right to believe in him. Adam said that if Ashland picked them, they should allocate some of the budget for a media blitz. He was sure there would be a lot of buzz around Victor’s first acquisition independent of Newman. Victor was glad Adam was thinking ahead, because they were going to be successful. Adam asked why Victor was so certain. Victor said he believed in Adam.

At the cottage, Sharon called Nate and told him Rey had a really bad night. He was feverish, nauseated and in pain, according to Sharon. Nate was still waiting on the test results. He told Sharon to take Rey to the hospital if he got any worse or if he still had a fever when he woke up. Afterward, Sharon and Faith talked while Rey slept on the couch. Faith was worried. Sharon hoped Rey wasn’t seriously ill, but she wasn’t going to take chances. She planned to have Nick drop Faith at school so that she could take Rey to the hospital if necessary. She said Faith could spend the night at Nick’s. Faith wanted to go to her grandparents’ instead, since Nick had been more overprotective than Sharon. Sharon said that was out of love. She and Nick were proud of Faith for standing up to the bullies. Faith got a text, and she told Sharon that someone from school said she’d done a good thing. Sharon was glad Faith was getting support at school, too. Faith said she’d let Nikki know she’d be staying over. Sharon promised to keep Faith up to speed on Rey’s condition. Faith looked at her text. It said “good morning” with a heart emoji. Faith smiled and then she went up to the main house.

Rey woke up feeling hungry, but he wasn’t able to swallow, and his temperature was very high. He was still thinking it was a stomach bug. He was sorry Sharon was stuck taking care of him. She pointed out that he’d taken care of her a lot of times during her treatment. She vowed to be his rock, the way he’d been hers. He suddenly got delirious and thought he was chasing a suspect. She grabbed her phone to get help, and he told her to stop. He knew he was at home again, and he didn’t think he needed help. Sharon called Nate anyway and arranged to meet him at the hospital. She asked Rey if he could walk to the car. He thought he could. He stood up and promptly collapsed on the floor. Sharon called 911.

Ashland was in the hotel lounge on the phone with his son. He promised to bring him a surprise and said he loved him. Phyllis overheard him. When the call ended, she mentioned that he’d stirred up a lot since his arrival, which was impressive. She introduced herself as the hotel owner, and he complimented her establishment. He mentioned that he’d be checking out later today.

Amanda ran into Nate at Crimson Lights. She sensed tension between him and Elena and asked how things were going. He said he broke up with her. Amanda asked if it was because Elena broke his cousin’s heart – the man she claimed to love. She had a realization; “and probably still does,” she added. He didn’t presume to know what Elena felt.

Elena apologized to Devon for showing up to the penthouse unannounced. She explained that she ran into Nate after leaving the Devon’s, and he’d wanted to talk about their relationship. Elena was in no condition to have that conversation, as she was sure Devon knew. He understood, since he also didn’t feel like speaking to anyone at the moment. She revealed that Nate ended things. Devon was sorry. Elena didn’t expect anything from Devon, and she didn’t want him to feel guilty. She said what happened between them was mutual, and they didn’t mean to hurt anyone. He said they did hurt people, though. She said she dropped her bracelet. He gave it to her and told her Amanda found it.

Devon said that Amanda noticed that he and Elena were getting closer. He imagined Amanda suspected there was more going on, and he knew it wasn’t fair to make her feel that way. He also didn’t want to mislead Elena into thinking they had a future. He wanted to see where things went with Amanda, just like Elena did with Nate. He didn’t want Elena to feel like he was playing with her emotions. She knew that this was as confusing for him as it had been for her. She guessed they shouldn’t have tried for a second chance. “I didn’t know we were trying for a second chance. I always thought we were seeing if there was still something between us,” he replied. She wished him the best, and she hoped he got all the happiness he deserved. She left.

Amanda showed up at Devon’s wanting answers. She asked if there was more going on with Elena, and he said yes. She said it was so obvious – the way the couch looked, the bracelet on the floor. She’d been able to feel that something was up. “You slept with her, didn’t you?,” she asked. He nodded. She sensed this wasn’t the only time he’d slept with Elena while he was seeing Amanda. He admitted it happened one more time. She bitterly thanked him for telling her the truth and started to leave, but he felt that if she wanted to know the truth, she needed to hear all of it. She didn’t know if she could handle it. He said that he meant everything he told her yesterday. Things ended so bitterly between him and Elena that they forgot they’d once loved each other. He and Elena knew they weren’t getting back together, because too many negative things had happened. “But you still manage to sleep with her twice. I guess you needed to be absolutely sure, huh,” she yelled. He knew it was bad. He thought he just needed to be with Elena to realize she was in his past. He didn’t want to go back. He wanted a future with Amanda. “You say that now, but what about when the two of you are together and those feelings start resurfacing? Are you gonna end up on that sofa again?,” she asked. He said no. He was sorry he hurt and disappointed her. She said it was fine, because now she knew who he was, and it’d be so much easier to get over him. She stormed out.

Amanda went back to the hotel and asked Phyllis to explain to her how she got herself into another doomed relationship. Phyllis didn’t know what was going on, but she was sure it wasn’t a reflection on Amanda. Amanda said she had a habit of making terrible choices when it came to men. She lived her life carefully, and she held herself and the men she dated to the highest standards. She tried to be cautious with Ripley, and he ripped her life apart. Phyllis said Amanda couldn’t blame herself because Ripley was crazy. Amanda cried that she went for Nate, and he slept with his cousin’s girlfriend. Then she dated Devon, and he… she said never mind, she was just hopeless at this. Phyllis said when she rekindled things with Nick, she was cautious, but she was just hopelessly in love with him. Amanda said the good news was she wasn’t hopelessly in love with him yet. “But I think I was getting there,” she admitted. She felt like she’d held herself back out of fear of rejection or fear of going too deep too fast and getting it wrong again. She’d tried to make sure she was important, and now she just looked like a damn fool. Phyllis was adamant that Amanda was incredible and Devon was the fool. Amanda nodded. Amanda knew what Phyllis was trying to do, but the facts were - . Phyllis interrupted and said the facts were that Amanda was gorgeous, strong, intelligent and accomplished. Amanda said she didn’t want someone who didn’t want her. Phyllis saw Devon walk in, and she said she wasn’t so sure about that. Devon asked Amanda to hear him out.

Elena went to Society to talk to Lola. She lamented that she’d manage to lose two great men. She admitted she had no one to blame but herself. Lola said Elena was a kind and loving person who made mistakes, and things didn’t happen in a vacuum. Lola said Elena wasn’t wrong to think something was going on with Amanda and Devon, because clearly there was an attraction there, and Nate was the one who chose to act on his feelings for Elena. Lola suggested that the men weren’t good for Elena and that this was for the best. Elena said Lola always knew how to make her feel better. Lola went back to the kitchen, and Elena fidgeted with her bracelet.

Lily and Billy were at the office. She tried talking to him about work, but he was distracted. He was wondering why they hadn’t heard from Ashland. She sensed that he was also thinking about Victoria’s confession. He stated that he’d been open and honest with Lily and that he didn’t hesitate to tell her that Victoria had feelings for him. She countered that Victoria was in love with him, which was much more intense than feelings. He thought the feeling Victoria was now experiencing was embarrassment. Lily felt like Billy was minimizing things to avoid facing a difficult truth. He thought she was seeing something that wasn’t there, and he didn’t think Victoria’s feelings mattered in this, because he didn’t reciprocate them. Lily thought it had been proven that she wasn’t imagining things, since she’d been telling him for a long time that Victoria was doing everything she could to stay connected to him. Lily felt that Billy let it happen and let this become more than just co-parenting. He admitted he should’ve listened to Lily’s concerns. “But you didn’t, and I think it’s because part of you wanted it to happen. I think that you were enjoying having those warm family moments,” she contended. He insisted that he’d been enjoying hanging out with his kids. “And Victoria. I think that you might not be as over her as you claim to be,” she said. She thought he should take some time and examine his feelings. He was adamant that he loved Lily. She didn’t know if he was sure about that. She thought they should take some time apart and not see each other outside of work. She walked out, leaving him in her office.

At Newman, Nikki asked what was troubling Victoria. She wondered if Victoria had second thought about jumping into the bidding war with Adam and Victor, especially since she was only doing it to protect Billy. Victoria didn’t regret her decision, and she said she wasn’t just doing this to protect Billy – it was a sound business deal. Nikki recalled that Victoria had said more to Billy than she intended to. Nikki wanted to know what Victoria said. Victoria admitted she told Billy she was still in love with him, then she told him to forget it. She was upset she let herself lose control like that. Nikki said Victoria and Billy shared children and history, and now his life was on track. Victoria said Lily accused her of setting her sights on Billy now that he’d become the man she wanted him to be. “I don’t want any of this,” Victoria insisted. She was upset because she’d sworn she’d never go down this road again with Billy. Nikki understood Victoria was frustrated because she prided herself on staying in control, but love couldn’t be controlled. Victoria wished she’d never said anything; Billy had already made it clear that he’d move on with Lily. Nikki asked what Billy would’ve said if Victoria didn’t tell him to forget she was in love with him. Victoria said she and Billy shared children – that was it. She left to get air.

Lily and Victoria both ended up at Crimson Lights. They got on the subject of Ashland, and Victoria asked if Lily had heard anything. Lily thought it was better to let Victoria wonder. Victoria didn’t know why, since they were all on the same side. Lily wasn’t sure that they were. She asked why Victoria cut her media division loose and had no interest in Cyaxares, only to suddenly enter a bid. Victoria said Ashland’s company was a strong investment. Lily had a feeling that Victoria only wanted the company because she didn’t want someone else to get it. Victoria said getting the company was important to her. “No, it’s important to me, and you know that,” Lily argued. Lily said she’d put everything into ChancComm. “You don’t care about Ashland’s company. You don’t need it. It’s just a trophy for you,” Lily contended. “You don’t know me as well as you think you do,” Victoria shot back. She said she didn’t make decisions like this on a whim – she thought them through and considered all her options for achieving her goals. That was why she was so successful and confident she’d come out on top. Lily laughed. “I think if you were really that confident, you wouldn’t try so hard to convince me,” she said. Victoria turned and left, and Lily rolled her eyes.

Jack went to ChancComm. He told Billy he’d sang his praises to Ashland last night over drinks. Jack felt that Billy and Lily complemented each other and were lucky to have each other. He said Ashland would be crazy not to choose ChancComm. He said that if Adam got hold of Cyaxares, he’d use it to go after Billy. He thought Billy should have a game plan for that possibility. Billy didn’t want to think that way. Jack thought Billy needed to think about how his reactions would affect Lily. Billy said Lily was his number one priority. Lily walked in, and Jack left. Lily told Billy that she ran into Victoria. Lily believed that everything Victoria did was calculated. She didn’t think it was an accident that Victoria told Billy she was in love with him. He said he couldn’t control what Victoria did. It had been a long time since he was proud of who he was. He didn't want to go backward – he wanted to go forward with Lily. He promised to do whatever he could to earn her trust so she’d believe in him and so they could believe in each other. Lily did believe in Billy, but she couldn’t ignore what was happening with Victoria. He said there was nothing happening with Victoria. She thought he was in denial. “First she tells you that she’s in love with you, then she pretty much tells me that she’s coming after you,” Lily stated. Billy wasn’t sure how many times he had to say that Victoria couldn’t do anything to come between him and Lily.

Nikki saw Victoria rushing into the office and noted that she looked more miserable than she did before. Victoria said she ran into Lily, and while they didn’t even mention Billy’s name, it was clear that every word they’d said was about him. She thought that Lily knew she’d admitted she loved Billy, and while Lily didn’t come right out and say it, she'd obviously been staking her claim on him. Nikki thought that Victoria should’ve expected Billy to tell Lily what happened. Victoria didn’t want to be lectured. Nikki asked what Victoria was going to do. Victoria said she’d decide after Ashland accepted her offer. Nikki wondered if Victoria was still planning to use Cyaxares to protect Billy and ChancComm from Adam and Victor.

All three potential buyers for Cyaxares got word that Ashland had made a decision.
