Billy was in Victoria’s office. He was stunned by her confession that she was still in love with him. He asked how long she’d felt this way. She said that was irrelevant. She regretted her admission. She knew he was committed to Lily, and she didn’t intend to interfere in their relationship. He pointed out that he’d asked her if she had a problem with him moving on, and she said she didn’t. She said she cared about him and wanted what was best for him. He believed that. She tried to end the discussion, but he said they had history and children and they couldn’t just forget this conversation happened. She asked him leave, so he did.

Lily was in her office wondering where Billy was. She was delighted when Traci came in. Traci reported that she’d found some great writers for the ChanceComm platform while on her trip to NY. She was eager to tell Lily and Billy about it. She asked where her brother was. Lily wasn’t sure, but she had an idea. Traci sensed a problem and asked what was up. Lily felt like Victoria was trying to worm her way back into Billy’s life. She knew that Victoria would be a presence, due to the kids, but it felt like she was around all the time. She thought she must sound insanely jealous. Lily thought that Victoria decided to bid on the same company as ChanceComm because she wanted to stay on Billy’s mind, and Lily said it was working. She explained that Billy brought Victoria up in the middle of their pitch, then he decided to stay behind so he could talk to her before her pitch. It was clear to Lily that something happened during that talk, because Billy left the office a long time ago to go for a walk. Traci asked if Lily thought Victoria said something to provoke Billy to go see her. Lily didn’t know, but her gut told her that Victoria was trying to inject herself into Billy’s life. Lily felt that Victoria and Billy had an unshakable bond. Traci said there was – the children. She was sure that Lily felt the same bond with Cane. Lily said it was more than a parenting thing with Billy and Victoria, at least for Victoria. She couldn’t shake the suspicion that Victoria didn’t want to let Billy go.

Traci thought it was natural for Lily to feel threatened by Billy’s previous relationship. She said to stop being concerned about Victoria and to start focusing on how Lily and Billy felt. She asked if Billy had become withdrawn. Lily said he was very sweet and romantic, but he also thought that Victoria’s constant interruptions were no big deal. Traci thought that Lily should be honest with Billy about just how much this deeply upset her. She said no relationship could survive unless it was based on complete honesty and trust.

Billy returned to the office, and Traci left. She mentioned how long he’d been gone, and he explained that he’d gone for a walk and ended up at Victoria’s office. Lily wasn’t surprised. She thought they had to have a serious discussion about what was going on with Victoria. He was in full agreement. He revealed that Victoria went after Cyaxares to protect him from Adam and Victor and prevent the war from breaking out between the three of them again. Lily thought that, given everything Victoria had been through with Adam, Victor and Billy, it made sense for Victoria to try and prevent the train wreck. Billy conceded that this made sense, but he’d been insulted because he felt like Victoria thought he hadn’t changed.

Billy admitted that Lily’s instincts were right about Victoria and that he should’ve trusted her. He told her about Victoria’s admission of love. Lily had assumed Victoria had feelings for Billy, but she wasn’t expecting to hear Victoria was in love. He relayed the rest of his conversation with Victoria. He was sure that she didn’t mean to tell him how she felt. Billy said that Victoria didn’t want her confession to change anything. Lily asked if he believed that. He did believe Victoria. He said it didn’t matter though, because he didn’t share Victoria’s feelings, and Victoria was the past. Billy loved Lily, and nothing would come between them. Lily was wondering if part of the reason Billy felt the need to run in and declare his love for her was because he wasn’t sure. He swore he loved and adored Lily. Lily said she’d been here before – she gave Cane a million chances because of their history and their kids. She said real love might change, but it never died. He said that what she had with Cane was different than this. She thought he should do some soul searching and figure out how he really felt before their relationship got any deeper.

At the penthouse, Adam told Chelsea that things were turning around soon, while she thought to herself about her plans for him. He anticipated getting good news today. He knew he’d impressed Ashland, and he’d felt good to have Victor by his side. She internally grumbled about Adam seeking Victor’s approval again. She felt that she’d never replaced Sharon in his heart. She vowed to make him regret not appreciating her when he had the chance. Dr. Cavett came over to examine Chelsea. Adam gave Chelsea a pep talk, then he left. Chelsea thought Adam wanted her to stay powerless so she didn’t get in the way of his affair with Adam. Chelsea was concerned that Dr. Cavett would realize she was faking.

Chelsea successfully tricked Dr. Cavett into thinking she was still completely paralyzed. After the doctor left, Chelsea stretched then wheeled herself over to Adam’s tablet.

Adam arrived at the Grand Phoenix, having been summoned by Nikki. She was sure he could imagine her surprise when she learned that Victor threw his financial and personal weight behind Adam to make a deal with Ashland Locke. Adam was sure Nikki was displeased he and Victor were competing against Victoria, but he noted that the only reason he and Victor were working together was that Victoria passed on the opportunity. Nikki thought Adam misunderstood. She wasn’t thrilled Victoria and Victor were on opposite sides, but she was more concerned about the cozy working relationship between Adam and Victor. Adam noted that Victor came to him, and Nikki said that Victor couldn’t help himself. She said that Victor wanted to forge a bond with Adam, despite the hell Adam put him through. She said Victor wanted to believe he mattered to Adam. Adam said Victor did matter to him – Victor was there for him after Chelsea’s stroke. He added that the rest of his so called family didn’t reach out. She scoffed and asked what he expected after everything he did. He conceded that the rest of the Newmans were justified in turning their backs on him, but that was why it was more meaningful to him that Victor reached out. He said Victor’s business opportunity was just what he needed. She thought he should be focusing on Chelsea. He said Chelsea and Connor were his top priority, but he needed something that he was good at to focus on, and it’d make him a better husband and father. She thought Victoria would get the job. She was still concerned he’d turn on Victor. He said that wouldn’t happen. She said she’d never trust him or forgive or forget all the anguish she caused his family. She wouldn’t tolerate him wreaking any more havoc on her family. He asked if that was a threat. She called it a warning. She wanted him to leave town, for good, as soon as Chelsea recovered.

Victoria looked at a picture of herself with Billy and the kids. Nikki came in asking about some paperwork that Victoria forgot to give her. Victoria had forgotten all about it, which concerned Nikki. She said she would’ve sent it earlier, but Billy stopped by. Nikki asked what happened between them. Victoria made some vague comments about how feelings sometimes bubble up at the right time. Nikki tried to be comforting, but Victoria didn’t want sympathy. She said she and Billy were friends and co-parents and that was it. Nikki told Victoria that as long as you were going in the right direction, it was okay to look back over your shoulder. Victoria said thanks, and Nikki left.

At the cottage, Sharon was alarmed when Rey passed out. He woke up just as she was about to call the ambulance. Since he’d only been out for a few seconds, he didn’t think he needed to go to the hospital. He thought he probably had the stomach flu or something. He noted that she was really worried, and she said he was her husband and she loved him. She was sorry about everything. He wanted to take the couple’s therapy and the thing with Adam one day at a time. He was sure that, in time, they’d get to where they needed to be. He promised not to be so dramatic after their next session. He agreed to call out of work, because she wanted him to rest. He wanted Lola’s chicken soup, and she was going to go get it, but he reminded her that she had to meet with the coffee suppliers for Crimson Lights. She promised to be back ASAP.

Sharon went to Society and told Lola that Rey was sick. Lola predicted he wanted chicken soup, and she’d already made a fresh batch. Sharon thanked Lola for being kind to Faith and for being instrumental in finding the kid who took the photo used to bully Faith. Lola said it was no problem – Faith was a sweetheart, and they were family now. Lola admitted she was worried about what was going on between Sharon and Adam. She didn’t want to make things worse for Sharon and Rey, but she hated seeing her brother hurt, and she hated that Adam was a factor. She was rooting for Sharon and Rey, and she hoped Sharon saw what she had in Rey. Sharon said she and Rey had a couple’s counseling session this afternoon. It got off to a rocky start. Lola thought that the point was that Sharon was putting forth the effort. Sharon thanked Lola for being so understanding.

As Sharon was leaving, she ran into Adam, and he asked her to sit with him for a minute. She had to get home. He asked her to please wait, and she did. He hoped she knew he didn’t steal those things from her house. He wondered if she asked Rey, like he’d suggested. She said Rey wasn’t that petty. He seemed insulted that she had no problem believing he’d be petty enough to steal his gifts back. She started to leave, and he asked how Faith was. She commented that he was pushing all her buttons today. He felt like everything he said annoyed her, even when he was trying to be honest and sincere. She said he messed up her life, even when he didn’t intend to. He said that was the last thing he wanted. She asked him to save it, and then she left.

Sharon got home and received the text from “Adam.” “I can’t stop thinking of you. What I wouldn’t do for us to be free,” it said. Sharon looked shaken, and she put the phone in her pocket. Rey noticed she looked upset. She thought he looked paler. He felt achy and feverish. She went to heat up his soup. She returned and found him curled up on the couch, shivering and covered in sweat. She was worried something was seriously wrong.

Back at the penthouse, Chelsea was confused that the text she sent under Adam’s name got no response. She said she’d expected Sharon to immediately respond to the love of her life. She heard the door opening, and she put the tablet down and got back into place. Adam was somber because Dr. Cavett told him there wasn’t much progress. He promised her they’d beat this. Chelsea said to herself that she beat this already, and now she was going to beat Adam. He suggested they find another doctor. She thought to herself that this would all be over soon, and she’d no longer be his problem.
