At Society, Lily raised a toast to a night free of business, but Billy had some work news. There was a third potential buyer for Cyaxares, and no one knew who it was. She figured that it didn’t actually matter and that they should just focus on their own pitch. He pointed out that it would be simple to differentiate themselves from Victor, but it wouldn’t be easy to set themselves apart from an unknown entity. Ashland called Billy. The call ended, and Billy told Lily that Ashland was flying to Genoa City to meet with all three competitors. She wanted to discuss the news that the third buyer was here in town, but he said she was right – this night should be about romance. She promised him a night of sex if he’d talk business with her now. He said the buyer had to be someone with money and guts to go after them and Victor. Lily suggested that the third potential buyer could be flying to Genoa City to meet Ashland. She changed the subject and praised Billy’s looks and intelligence. She said he looked at her like she was the only woman in the room. She came to town with a lot of baggage, and none of it mattered to him. She said she was a convict, and he still acted like she was the one doing him a favor. She’d dated after Cane and gotten serious with one guy, but it wasn’t like what she had with Billy. She said he made her feel excited and challenged every single day.

After dessert, Lily and Billy wondered who the potential buyer was. He suggested it was her brother – he had the money and experience, since he’d owned GC Buzz. Lily was sure Devon would’ve told her if he was getting into the media business. He suggested it was Bill Spencer, who’d recently been in Genoa City. She said it could be Adam. He didn’t think Adam had the money, and besides, he didn’t want to consider that possibility. They went to his suite, and he wanted to get on the phone and see if anyone had any idea who Ashland’s third offer was, but she reminded him they’d made other plans. He just wanted to make one call, but when she said she’d go back to her room and sleep, he changed his mind. He went over to kiss her.

At the penthouse, Devon struggled with how to tell someone that they needed to talk. He could never figure out how to put it into a text, and eventually, he gave up, grabbed his coat and left.

At the Chancellor mansion, Ashley tried to distract Abby, who was having her eggs harvested tomorrow. Abby was nervous, because everything would change tomorrow. Ashley marveled that Abby was willing the child into existence. She said Abby would soon know what it was like to look at your child and know you’d do anything for them. They looked through Abby’s baby book and came upon a picture of Abby and Brad. Ashley said Brad loved Abby even though she wasn’t his biological child. Abby realized this was a message. Ashley thought Abby might be feeling a little uncertain about how Chance would feel, and she said all she had to do was look at that picture of Brad who had nothing but love for his daughter. Smiling, Abby was sure Chance would look at their child the same way. Devon came over, so Ashley stepped out to give them privacy. Devon was there because he needed a friend. Abby promised she’d always be there for him, noting they’d soon be connected forever, through the child.

Devon looked at Katherine’s portrait, and Abby imagined how excited she’d be about tomorrow. She thought Katherine would say that while things might not go as planned, but as long as they were surrounded by love and support, they’d roll with it. He said it sounded like she was worried things wouldn’t go okay. She changed the subject and asked what was going on with him. He loved spending time with Amanda, and she was amazing, but during the ice storm, he slept with Elena. At the time, they agreed it was a goodbye, but he and Elena still had feelings for each other. He wondered if he slept with Elena to try and get back at Nate, and he didn’t like that thought. She said that didn’t sound like him. She asked which woman he wanted to be with. He got along great with Amanda, but it felt like that night with Elena rekindled something. Abby didn’t know if she could help. She didn’t know Amanda well, but she seemed awesome, and she’d thought what he had with Elena was special, but what she did was wrong. Abby didn’t know Elena’s side of the story though, and it’d be hypocritical of her to pretend she hadn’t made similar mistakes. Devon said Elena slept with Nate as a reaction to how close he was getting to Amanda. Abby thought Devon was the only one who could figure this out. He thought he knew what he had to do.

Ashley came downstairs and asked Devon if he had any baby pictures of himself that he could send her. He was sure he did. Devon appreciated Abby talking to him tonight. Abby thanked Devon for the amazing gift. He was honored to be part of it, and he asked if they could put a cap on the thank yous. Abby said they appreciated what he was doing, and they’d express their gratitude every time they saw him from here on out.

After Devon left, Abby wondered if she should give up alcohol in solidarity with Mariah. They thought about how close Abby was to having her own baby, then Ashley went to bed.

Devon went home, and he looked at Elena and Amanda’s names in his phone. He sent a text to Elena asking if they could talk, and she said she’d love to.

In their suite, Summer told Kyle she missed him at the office. He’d been at work, but she’d decided to give him space. She asked if Jack had any words of wisdom. He explained that he walked in on Jack and Sally in what seemed like a date, and when he asked Jack about it, he’d gotten defensive. He thought it was a bad time to tell Jack about the affair. He’d changed his mind about telling Jack at all, because he didn’t want Jack to sense there was more to the story and find out about Harrison. He knew Jack would urge him to fight for custody of his son. He didn’t think Jack would be intimidated by Ashland. Summer said Jack had a lot of experience fighting with Victor.

Kyle was worried that Summer was having second thoughts, but she assured him she meant it when she said she wasn’t going anywhere. She asked how he felt now that things had time to sink in. he felt more torn than the last time they talked. He was desperate to meet Harrison, but on the other hand, part of him thought that would be selfish. He noted that Ashland was the only father Harrison had ever known. Kyle experienced trauma as a kid, and he didn’t want to be responsible for inflicting it on anyone else. She noted that they only had Tara’s word that Harrison was his. If Tara was able to lie to her husband about the affair, she was obviously capable of deceit. He said he saw Tara, and she said it to his face. He believed her. He was concerned that Sally or Theo wouldn’t keep the secret. He decided to walk away and move on with his life. She supported his decision, and she said they should go to Crimson Lights, get warm drinks and talk about anything but this.

Jack and Sally went to Crimson Lights, on the patio, after ice skating. While she’d spent more time on her butt than her feet, she said she’d be a fantastic skater one day, as long as he was willing to coach her. He said he’d be honored. She was a good roller skater, so she overestimated how easy ice skating would be. She asked if he always skated. He’d skated his whole life. She asked what about Kyle, and he said Kyle was the best of them all, so good that they sent him to a sports related boarding school. Noting that Kyle seemed upset last night, she hoped nothing was wrong.

Jack admitted he was worried about Kyle. He thought it had something to do with NY, given the trip Kyle planned, then canceled. Sally knew from experience that past mistakes could come back to haunt you, so she tried to pretend those parts of her life ever happened. Her philosophy was that old errors in judgment couldn’t hurt you if you if you weren’t the same person. He asked if she thought something from Kyle’s past had caught up with him, and she said she hoped not for Kyle’s sake. She noted that one advantage Kyle had that she didn’t was a reliable father. He admitted it wasn’t always easy, particularly in the first few years after Diane’s death. She assumed the loss was hard on Jack too. He admitted that Kyle wasn’t the result of a great romantic pairing. Co-parenting with Diane was awkward and strained, particularly when Phyllis was in his life. He knew Sally had her own issues with Phyllis. Sally said she didn’t dislike Phyllis, but it was clear Phyllis didn’t like or trust her. Jack said Phyllis was acting that way because she was a very protective mother, but he thought things would fade in time. She said he seemed to be protective of Phyllis. She was curious what happened between them, since they still seemed to have a connection. Jack guessed they always would. He explained that Phyllis helped him through a difficult time, and they shared a lot of life; he even delivered Summer. He wished Phyllis hadn’t cheated on him, but it was in the past. She marveled that he was so forgiving. He noted that she’d just said it couldn’t hurt you if you weren’t the same person. He said he was older, wiser and with thicker skin. She added that he was romantic, charming and sophisticated.

Jack looked up and noticed Kyle and Summer staring at him and Sally through the glass doors. Kyle and Summer got a table, and she said they should’ve gone somewhere else so they wouldn’t have to see Jack and Sally together, but Kyle said no matter where he seemed to go, Jack and Sally were there together. Summer noted that Jack and Sally were beaming at each other. Kyle asked if Summer was on Sally’s side. She wasn’t, but she hadn’t seen Jack so happy in a long time. She remembered they’d come here for a distraction, and she told him that they’d forget about Jack and Sally and Tara and focus on themselves.

Back on the patio, Sally said she thought Kyle and Summer were giving them their space. Jack thought she was being kind. He thought Kyle and Summer disapproved of them. Sally said she was as determined to win Kyle and Summer over as she was to win Jack over. He said she already had won him over. She asked what about Summer and Kyle, and he said he didn’t care. He stood and leaned over for a kiss. It caught Kyle’s eye, and his jaw dropped. He was disgusted, and he couldn’t stop staring. Summer came up with a successful distraction when she told Kyle to take her back to her room, for hot passionate love. They left.

Sally gave Jack a napkin to wipe the lipstick off his lips. He said that was everything he hoped for, and more.
