Sharon walked around the living room on a business call with Crimson Lights. She noticed something was missing from the room. After hanging up, she called Faith downstairs to ask if she’d seen the antique figurine of the girl with the old fashioned dress that used to go on the end table. Faith hadn’t seen it. When Sharon asked if Faith was sure, Faith asked if she was being accused of stealing it. Sharon wasn’t suspicious of Faith, and she was sorry if it came off that way. Faith offered to help – she knew how much Sharon loved the figurine, and she asked if it was valuable. It was only valuable to Sharon – someone gave it to her a long time ago. They searched, and Sharon remembered Adam giving her the figurine. She thanked him for helping her find a psychiatrist. He was proud of how far she’d come, and he gave her the figurine to symbolize her new beginning. He thought the figurine’s expression was strong, fierce and determined, and it made her think of Sharon. She didn’t think that described her, and he said she had the figurine to remind her of the unsinkable resilient woman he saw when he looked at her.

Rey came in with cinnamon buns for Faith. She told him that they were looking for the figurine, and Sharon tried to downplay the topic. She told Faith to go upstairs to do her homework, noting that she had a lot to catch up on now that the suspension had been lifted. Faith hoped Rey and Sharon could work things out. That meant a lot to Rey. He said things were complicated now, but families came together to fix things when they were broken. Faith felt she’d been broken, and Sharon and Rey said she didn’t. He said Faith recognized her mistakes and made a sincere effort to turn things around, which was all anyone could do. Faith went upstairs.

Rey thought he and Sharon owed it to each other and to Faith to do their best to fix things. He thought they needed a therapist. She told him she’d found three possible therapists. He wanted to choose one now, together. He sensed that she didn’t actually want to do that, though. He said she’d been defensive and on edge ever since he brought up the idea. He felt that she was used to be the one asking the questions and getting to the root of the problem for her patients, and she was realizing how difficult it would be on the other side. He thought that if she was on the outside of their relationship, she’d recommend that they get couple’s therapy. He believed she’d say that they needed to get through the issue, be open, honest and deal with the hard things. He thought that it would be difficult for her to have a therapist tell her that for the good of their marriage, she’d have to remove Adam from her life. She said that was what she was trying to do. He knew that. He thought she was dragging her feet because she was going to have to put it all out there and say things that were difficult for him to hear, and she’d be on the receiving end of that also. She commented that doctors made the worst patients. He was committed to this relationship, and he wanted to grow old with her, and he was willing to do the work because she was worth fighting for. She called Dr. Carson and said she needed an appointment ASAP.

Faith was alone in the living room. She got a message from the mystery texter. “Pretty brave of you, putting those mean girls where they belong. Like an avenging angel,” it said. She smiled. “Hey, how do you” she started to text, before stopping when Sharon walked in. Sharon was happy that Faith decided to leave Nick’s and come home. Faith loved being with Nick and Christian, but she felt she belonged at Sharon’s. Sharon was sorry things got tense and that Faith felt like the trust was gone. She said she was scared when she found out there were so many things going on with Faith that she wasn’t aware of. She admitted she acted out of fear, and that was wrong. Sharon and Faith agreed that they wanted to fix their relationship.

Billy walked into Lily’s office in a good mood. He reported that Ashland Locke agreed to a meeting about Cyaxares. She noted they didn’t have an investor, and he said they’d figure that out. She asked if he was more excited about owning Cyaxares or outmaneuvering Victor and Victoria. He wanted both things. He said if they pulled this off, ChanceComm would be unstoppable. He was sure that their potential investor would back them. She noted that if things went their way, Victor would still come after them, because he didn’t like to lose. She didn’t want to back down from the fight, though. Things started heating up, and she thought they needed to channel his energy, so they left the office for some privacy in the restroom.

Billy and Lily returned and fixed their clothes. While she made sure her hair was in place, he said his mom wanted to take credit for their relationship. He wondered why a gorgeous brilliant woman like her chose him. She said she was with him because of who she was, not in spite of it. She liked being with him, and what they had was deeper than amazing sex. She said Jill was a genius, because she saw that they’d make a hell of a team. Jack walked in.

Jack wasn’t surprised Jill turned Billy and Lily down, because this was a lot of money. Billy and Lily explained their plan and their goals. Jack believed in Billy and Lily, and he said the proposal was thorough, concise and achievable, and because he believed in them, so he decided to finance their bid for Ashland’s company. He wanted to take them to dinner to celebrate, and they accepted. As Jack was leaving, he pointed out that Billy missed a button on his shirt. Billy laughed, and an embarrassed Lily put her hands over her face.

Billy thought they should get Jack a thank you gift before dinner. Lily asked what to get the man who had everything. He said Jack was happy when he was happy, and she made him happy, so if she put a smile on his face, that would go a long way toward making Jack happy. She laughed and asked what she could do to accomplish that, and he said he had a long list.

Nikki and Victoria finished a meeting at Newman. Victoria was pleased when she got an email from Ashland Locke. He was willing to negotiate, and while he liked the money and power associated with Newman, there were several parties who were interested in buying Cyaxares. Victoria assumed one of those parties was Victor and Adam. Nikki was shocked and unhappy to hear that Victoria and Victor were working against each other. Victoria explained that when Victor approached her about acquiring Cyaxares, she wasn’t interested until she found out he asked Adam to be involved. She thought Victor was trying to play her and Adam against each other, and she said it was obvious he underestimated her again.

Nikki had been under the impression that Victor’s obsession with buying Cyaxares had something to do with Billy. Victoria said Victor wanted to weaponize Cyaxares against ChanceComm and pay Billy back for his offenses, real and imagined. Nikki conceded that the article on Adam was brutal, but Victoria noted that it was also true. Victoria didn’t agree with Billy’s methods, but she thought Victor got a perverse pleasure from imagining her at the helm taking a wrecking ball to Billy’s accomplishments. She said now he was using Adam against her so she’d go after Cyaxares because he knew she hated the idea of Adam stepping in if she didn’t. Nikki thought Victoria was falling into Victor’s trap. Victoria disagreed. She said she was trying to keep Victor and Adam from getting the company to protect Billy. Nikki thought Victoria was putting herself in a dangerous position. Victoria was confident that she knew what she was doing. “I only play when I know I can win,” she said.

At Society, Adam told Victor he was on board with the plan to acquire Cyaxares. Victor was pleased. Adam was surprised that Victor trusted him. Victor said that if Adam were playing him, it would be a big disappointment, and Adam would be burning his final bridge. Adam welcomed the opportunity to run a company with Victor. Victor thought a man of Adam’s intelligence and talents needed something to focus on. Adam no longer had the time or inclination to double cross Victor – he felt that Chelsea and his commitment and Connor deserved a father he could look up to. Victor added that Adam could make a killing in this business, with the added benefit of taking Billy down. Adam said it was too good to resist. It meant a lot to Adam that Victor came to him with this opportunity, and he was 100% committed to it.

Adam thought Victor was right – he needed this job to remind him what he was good at. However, he wasn’t sure what Ashland would think of a man of his reputation running his media company. Victor planned to tell Ashland that Adam had taken charge of his life again after some tragic events in his childhood. Adam thought that this job would be good for Chelsea too. He said the job would give him renewed purpose. Victor also thought this job would keep Adam from ruining things with Chelsea due to spending time with Sharon.

Adam said Sharon was out of his life, so they didn’t need to talk about it. Victor was sure that Chelsea would eventually see the picture of the kiss. Adam was determined to try and keep it from her, since nothing good would come from her finding out. He vowed to make Chelsea and Connor his priority, even when he was running the company. He said this was his chance to reestablish himself and take no prisoners. Victor was pleased to hear Adam talk that way. He said to make sure the Sharon business was kept under control, so they could do business the Victor way, with ruthlessness.

Victor thought it felt right having Adam in charge of his newest acquisition, and he was glad they shared the same goals for their company. “And Billy,” Adam added. Victoria and Nikki arrived as Adam was leaving. Nikki gave a brusque reply to Adam’s greeting and walked away. Adam asked Victoria how things were at Newman. Victoria said they couldn’t be better and asked after Chelsea. He said she was well. She congratulated him. He asked on what, and she said it seemed like things were better between him and Victor. He said she was right, then he left. Victoria hoped Victor wasn’t planning to make a move against Cyaxares. He asked if something changed. She said no, and she told him to do what he needed to do, while she did what was best for Newman. He thought her mistake was to believe the two things were mutually exclusive.

Once Victoria left the table, Nikki hissed that she knew Victor was pitting Victoria and Adam against each other, and she didn’t approve. Victor stated that he didn’t care if Nikki approved. He said this wasn’t a game - he simply gave an opportunity to two of his children. He noted that Nick and Abby weren’t interested in the business. Nikki thought Victor was being cruel and divisive. He said he didn’t get to where he was now by being nice. He reiterated that he’d given an opportunity to two of his children, and he added that he wanted to see who came out on top.

Chloe went to visit Chelsea at the penthouse. After watching the nurse leave, she revealed that she saw the picture of Adam kissing Sharon, and she now realized that was what Chelsea was trying to tell her about. Chloe promised she was there for Chloe whatever she needed. Chelsea hoarsely said Chloe’s presence was enough. Chloe was stunned Chelsea could speak, but Chelsea whispered to keep it their secret.

Chelsea revealed that she worked on her recovery when she was alone. Last night, when Adam left, she got so mad that she stood up. Chelsea was glad she had Chloe. The nurse returned, and Chloe told a story about her kids while Chelsea pretended she was unable to move or talk. When Meredith left, Chloe offered to pack Chelsea’s things and move her into Chloe’s. Chelsea wanted to stay, and she wanted Adam to believe she was helpless. Chloe was concerned because her desire to get revenge on Adam consumed her and nearly cost her everyone and everything, including her best friend. She implored Chelsea not to make the same mistake. Chelsea said she wasn’t planning anything drastic – she just needed a clean break from Adam, and she needed Chloe’s help.

Adam came home, and Chloe and Chelsea didn’t let on that anything was different. Adam told Chloe that Chelsea looked tired, so maybe it was time to say goodbye. Chloe urged Chelsea to focus on getting out of the chair – one day this would be behind her. She left. Adam apologized for rushing Chloe out, but he couldn’t wait to tell Chelsea his good news. He told her that he was going to be running Cyaxares Media, at first from here, but when she recovered, they could go anywhere in the world. He vowed to take the company to new heights, and the best part was he was going to crush Billy. She said to herself that he wouldn’t have the chance to do that, because she was going to crush him.
