Traci found Kyle sitting in the Abbott living room, staring off into the distance. He explained that he’d come to see Jack, but his father had already left for the office. She wondered what he’d been thinking about. He’d been thinking of how lucky he was to have his dad. She replied that Jack was grateful to have Kyle. Kyle noted that his father had no say in his conception, his parents weren’t together at the time, and Jack had no idea he even had a son at first. Kyle’s mom took him to Europe at age three, and he and Jack missed out on a lot of time. He wondered who he’d be today if Jack hadn’t welcomed him into the family. Traci couldn’t imagine Jack rejecting his little boy. Jack had been smitten the minute he found out about Kyle, Traci recalled. “You were a part of the legacy, always and forever,” she said. He thought every kid should have a dad like his.

Summer was in the Jabot office. She tried to get into Kyle’s phone, but he’d changed his passcode, which used to be his mom’s birthday. Summer wondered why he changed it. Jack walked in, and a startled Summer hid the phone. He explained that Kyle asked him to look for his phone. She said she already found it. He shifted gears and praised her for the deal she worked out with Bill Spencer. He said he knew she would be a natural in the fashion industry, but she exceeded his expectations. She replied that she learned from the best. He was also glad she took his advice not to let minor irritants get in her way. “And when you say minor irritants are you referring to one with red hair and a big mouth? Because there is still tension there and I don’t see it going away any time soon,” she replied. He was dismayed she was still at odds with Sally. She asked why it mattered and what was going on between him and Sally. He thought that all anyone needed to know was that he and Sally enjoyed each other’s company. She hoped that worked out well for him, and she left. Sally texted Jack that she had a surprise.

Summer went to the hotel to ask a confidential favor from her mom. She insisted that Phyllis not tell Nick. Summer thought Kyle was hiding something from her, and she asked if Phyllis could help crack his phone passcode. Phyllis was capable of doing that, but she didn’t recommend violating Kyle’s privacy. Summer noted that Phyllis had done things like this in the past. Phyllis said Kyle would find out, and Summer would be putting their relationship at risk. Summer couldn’t stand that Kyle was keeping secrets. Phyllis asked if this was about Lola again. Summer said it was about a different ex, but she didn’t want to go into detail, because too many people already knew. Phyllis wanted to know what was going on. She figured that the ex was someone from NY and that Theo knew the secret. Summer revealed that Theo told Sally, and she was holding it over Kyle’s head.

Summer said she’d been so stressed out about Sally, because she was using the dirt on Kyle to make sure he and Summer didn’t say anything about what happened in L.A. Summer didn’t name names, but she explained that Kyle had an affair with a woman who was married to a well known power player who’d destroyed people’s lives. She said Sally kept hinting that there was more to the story, then Kyle booked a flight to NY, where his ex lived. She asked if Phyllis understood why she needed to get into Kyle’s phone. Phyllis still thought it was a bad idea. She asked what if Summer broke into a phone and didn’t find anything. She was sure Summer wouldn’t trust it because she knew Kyle was holding back. Phyllis told Summer to go to Kyle and demand honesty. Summer was skeptical that this would work. Phyllis said if it didn’t, Kyle and Summer didn’t really have a relationship. She told Summer to promise not to judge Kyle or freak out, then tell him she wanted the truth.

Kyle went to Jabot, and when he walked into the boardroom, Jack thought it was Sally. Kyle could tell Jack was expecting someone else. He said he’d hoped to talk to Jack over lunch, but he ended up having a nice chat with Traci instead. Kyle was there for his phone, and Jack noticed him tense when he found out Summer had it. Jack asked about it. Kyle pretended not to know what Jack meant. Jack said he hadn’t forgotten the planned trip to NY Kyle kept from him and Summer. Jack wanted an explanation for this secret trip. Kyle started stammering, but he didn’t have to come up with a cover story, because Summer arrived with his phone. Just as she handed the phone over, it rang. Kyle stepped aside and answered. Tara informed Kyle that she and Ashland were coming to Genoa City next week for a business trip. She warned him not to mention the past if he ran into them, because nothing good would come of it for any of them, Harrison included. The call ended, and Kyle asked Jack for a moment with Summer. Jack left. Summer said things were off between her and Kyle, and it was making her nervous. Instead of spying or lashing out, or anything she’d done in the past to mess up their relationship, she was asking him to respect her enough to be honest with her. He revealed that Tara gave birth to his child.

At Crimson Lights, Faith thanked Nick for taking her seriously when she said she needed a break from the ranch. He knew she missed her mom, but he realized it had to be good to get away from the drama. He’d been checking her old phone, and there weren’t any new texts from the bullies. According to Nick, Lola helped figure out who the girl was that posted the picture of Adam and Sharon online. She was probably going to be suspended from Walnut Grove. Faith wanted to know who it was, but Nick said the important thing was that the bullying probably wouldn’t happen again. Faith thought it was gross that Sharon let Adam kiss her, but she didn’t think Sharon deserved to be publicly shamed. She was concerned that Rey would break up with Sharon. He assured her that Sharon and Rey were committed to working things out. She felt that Adam didn’t want that to happen, and he told her not to let Adam inside her head. She likened Adam to the bullies she dealt with at school. “If I expect mom to stand up against her bully, maybe I should be doing the same,” she mused. He assured her there was no shame in asking for help. She brought up Jordan, and he knew why she preferred going to someone her age, but he told her to trust that her family had her best interests at heart. She asked if he’d ever trust her again.

Rey went to the cottage because Sharon texted wanting to talk. She asked if he’d changed his mind about them needing counseling. He still felt that they needed an outside perspective. She protested that they’d only been married a couple months, and he countered that they’d been struggling about Adam longer than that. She agreed to go to couple’s counseling, even though she wasn’t convinced it was necessary. However, she didn’t want to go until she’d made sure things were okay with Faith, and she said that might take awhile. He was adamant that they needed to start counseling now, not some indefinite time in the future. He agreed Faith was the priority, but he thought Sharon could spend an hour a week on their relationship while Faith was in school. He thought she was scared, and he was too, because he didn’t want to lose her. He’d been happier with her than he’d ever been in his life, except when these things with Adam popped up, and if they didn’t deal with it head on, they’d lose each other anyway. Nick showed up and announced he’d brought Faith for a visit, but right now she was at the stables. Rey left for the station. Nick reported that Faith had something important to tell them, but he wondered if Sharon was too upset over the situation with Rey to hear it. She said she wasn’t – she and Rey had a good talk, and she was optimistic.

Faith told Sharon and Nick that she’d tried to handle the bullies on her own. She said she had Jordan, who wasn’t a bad person. She said Jordan helped with the mean girls sometimes. Faith admitted that Jordan also goaded her into some dumb choices and got an attitude when Faith didn’t do what she said. Sharon and Nick were impressed that Faith had done some deep thinking and come away with a mature look at the last several months. Sharon asked what gave Faith the new perspective. Faith had been replaying things in her head and noticing things she didn’t catch the first time. Sharon said that was what it was like when you go to counseling. Faith said when she overheard them talking about sending her to therapy, she felt like they thought something was wrong with her. They assured her they thought she was perfect and that they were just trying to help make things easier for her. She apologized for pushing her parents away.

Faith was incensed that one of the girls tried to get at her by hurting Sharon. She was glad that the girl was punished for taking the picture of Sharon and Adam. Nick hoped that one day Faith would be as protective of herself as she was of Sharon. Faith revealed that she’d decided to name the girls who were bullying her. She was still scared of retaliation, but she thought maybe the girls would back off if they got in trouble like the one who took the picture did. She gave Nick the girls’ names, and he left to take the list to Walnut Grove.

Sharon brought up the picture of the kiss. Faith said she knew it was Adam’s fault, not Sharon’s. Sharon said it wouldn’t be fair of her to put all the blame on Adam. Faith didn’t know how Sharon could be around Adam and let him kiss her. Sharon said Adam saved Faith’s life once. Faith was taken aback. Sharon explained that there was a tornado, and when the barn they took shelter in collapsed, Adam threw himself on top of Faith to protect her. She added that Adam was the one who got her psychiatric help when her bipolar disorder was undiagnosed and untreated. It changed the course of her life, and she owed that to Adam. She conceded she needed to set more boundaries with Adam, but she wanted Faith to know more about their history, now that she was mature enough to understand that things weren’t all black and white. “There was a lot of good with the bad,” she said. Faith nodded and asked if Rey was moving out. Sharon said she and Rey were still in love and they were going to work through this, and Faith smiled. Faith wanted Sharon and Rey to be happy. Sharon did too, but what she wanted most was to set a good example for Faith. She was sorry for the times she’d disappointed Faith, and she was trying to do better. She promised things would get better.

Sharon called Rey. He was at Crimson Lights. She let him know that Faith was doing incredibly well. Sharon was also willing to go to counseling and face her issues with Adam. She wanted him to know she loved and appreciated him. He said he loved her too. While Sharon was in the kitchen on the phone, Faith got a text. “I hope they all pay for the way they hurt you,” it said. She asked who they were and how they got her new number.

Chelsea used her hands to grip her wheelchair, then she tried to pull herself into a standing position. She failed, but she wasn’t discouraged. She then wheeled herself into a different direction, but she stopped when she heard Adam calling her from another room. He entered and said he met with Dr. Cavett earlier today, and she said it was too soon for Chelsea to travel. Chelsea thought to herself that Adam didn’t actually want to move and leave Sharon. He told her that Victor wanted to meet to see how they were doing. He thought it was ironic that Victor was the one person in the family who cared. Chelsea thought that was how Victor sucked Adam in. She wondered how he kept falling for the same old tricks. Adam supposed it couldn’t hurt to spend time with Victor. Chelsea planned to eventually do something about Adam’s weakness for Victor and Sharon. Chelsea was glad when Adam left for his meeting with Victor, because that gave her the privacy to work on using her muscles. With a slight smile, she moved her chair a short distance. She fell asleep and dreamed that she shot Adam.

Victor and Adam met at Society. After talking about Chelsea, Victor noted that Adam had a lot of help with her, which meant he had a lot of free time. He’d talked with Victoria about a media company that was on the market. Adam asked if Victoria reversed the decision to divest Newman of its media division. Victor said she hadn’t, and he still thought it was a foolish decision to sell those divisions. This new company was too good to pass up, so he was going to buy it himself, and he wanted Adam to run it.

Adam assumed that this was about Victor wanting to get back at Billy for that sleazy article. He figured Victoria refused to screw over the father of her children. Victor said Victoria could be far too sentimental. Adam said he didn’t have that problem. He was interested in hearing more. Victor said it’d be a standalone company, independent of Newman. Adam was glad, because he didn’t want to work under Victoria’s thumb. Victor said Adam would report to him and he’d be free to run the company as he saw fit. Adam thought the offer was terrific, but he and Chelsea still planned to leave town. Victor said Chelsea had a long road ahead. He suggested Adam run the company remotely. Adam agreed to give it some thought. Victor left.
