Victoria dropped by Billy’s office, and he mentioned he was coming by her place tonight, as they’d planned, for a rematch of the board game they’d played last night. She asked him not to come, as a favor to her. She said she wanted a quiet night at home. He didn’t understand why he couldn’t join her and the kids. She said last night was fun, but consistency was important, and she didn’t want the kids getting used to eating junk food, playing indoor football and staying up late. He asked why she was objecting when she won the football game, and she told him to be serious. He thought it was unfair – he played loose, but he was a good parent. She wasn’t questioning his parenting, but she thought it’d be a mistake for the kids to get used to the four of them spending time together. He said it was only a couple days – days he was supposed to have the kids while she was in Hawaii. She wanted to go back to the way things used to be. He said he thought they were giving Johnny and Katie a treat, and he noted that Victoria had fun too. She said she did, but it was too much. “I just don’t want you getting any more comfortable in our lives,” she said. He argued that they were co-parenting, and they were supposed to make the kids feel comfortable. He said not all separated parents got along, but he thought they wanted their kids to feel like they were a family. She clarified that wasn’t what she meant – she thought he should come on his visitation days. He said he wasn’t trying to take over her life. He had a life of his own, but his kids were the most important thing to him. She felt they should set very clear boundaries, like they had before. He wanted to know what happened last night to make her feel that way. Lily walked in.

Victoria said she’d get going. Billy wanted to continue the discussion, and she told him they’d talk when he came to pick up the kids. She welcomed Lily back and left. Lily asked what was going on, and Billy said it’d work itself out. He asked about her trip. She closed the deal in NY, and she brought champagne. He called her brilliant for turning this communications company into an empire. Victoria was at the elevator, and she heard Billy telling Lily how much he missed her. She didn’t want to hear it and kept pressing the button to make the elevator come faster.

Victoria went home, and Johnny was excited about playing the board game again tonight with Billy. Victoria said that they weren’t going to play tonight. It was a school night, and she and Billy both had jobs, so it wasn’t fair to expect him to come over all the time. Johnny whined that Victoria and Billy promised, and Victoria snapped that it wasn’t happening. He looked downcast, and she apologized, but she told him he had to accept what she said. She wasn’t mad; she loved him and Katie and so did Billy. After Johnny left, Victoria cleaned up. She picked up the football they’d all played with earlier and looked pensive.

Billy and Lily went to the hotel bar. She told him that Devon arranged for her and Amanda to see some of LP’s artists at a club on their last night in NY. She had a lot of fun, but the only thing missing was Billy. He stated that he and Victoria had a good time with the kids, then today she told him to back off. He was mystified. He wondered if he’d said something that rubbed Victoria the wrong way. Lily didn’t think that was it. He asked if she had a better idea, and she said he was there, and she wasn’t. He changed the subject and suggested they go upstairs for some fun. She was interested, and they got in the elevator.

Nick and Sharon were at the cottage waiting for Nikki. She hoped Faith would feel comfortable opening up to Nikki. He wanted to bring Summer and Mariah into this too. She still wasn’t comfortable postponing putting Faith in therapy. He thought that Faith would feel more comfortable talking to her relatives instead of being interrogated by some stranger – which was how he thought Faith would see a therapist. Sharon knew that she and Nick wanted the same outcome, even if they didn’t agree with the way to reach it. She thought they should present a united front. Faith came home, and Sharon showed her the vodka cap. Faith acted like she didn’t know what it was. Sharon said it was a vodka cap – a brand she’d never bought, and Faith asked why Sharon was showing it to her. Sharon said they found it in the couch cushions, and Faith defensively asked if they were blaming her. Nick said they weren’t accusing her of anything. Sharon noted that Faith and Jordan were alone at the house without permission, and apparently they drank vodka. Faith asked where she’d even get a brand of vodka Sharon didn’t buy? It’s not like a store would sell it to her. Sharon noted that Faith didn’t deny drinking. Faith denied it, and she asked if they were constantly going to be accusing her of things. She didn’t know how to prove that there was nothing to worry about. She asked what they wanted from her. Nick said they wanted Faith to stop pretending she was okay, because they knew she wasn’t.

Faith said she was okay, and as for the bottle cap… Sharon said they weren’t talking about the cap, but what came in the bottle. She felt that they’d already given Faith the benefit of the doubt, but too many things didn’t add up. Nick said that the drinking was a concern, and what was equally concerning was why she was doing it. Sharon said she and Nick had decided that Faith needed a therapist. Faith refused to go, and she said they couldn’t force her. Sharon said that it was her and Nick’s job to step up when something was wrong. Faith didn’t want to tell her deepest darkest secrets to someone who didn’t even know her. Nikki walked in, and Faith begged her to tell her parents that they were wrong to force her into therapy. Nikki wanted time alone with Faith.

Once they were alone, Nikki asked what was so terrible about therapy? It’d get Nick and Sharon to back off, and if the therapist agreed that Faith was a normal teen, and the drinking was nothing to worry about, the therapist would back Faith up. Faith felt suffocated and pressured to be perfect. She was sorry about what happened to Cassie, but it wasn’t fair that she was under her shadow. Nikki said to let her do the talking, and then she called Sharon and Nick in. Nikki wanted to take Faith with her for a little while, so everyone could cool down. They agreed.

Sharon vowed to try and choose her words carefully so this didn’t escalate. She wished she and Nick had a discussion before they allowed Faith to go with Nikki. He said they both agreed that Faith could turn to Nikki for help. He noted that he and Sharon weren’t getting anywhere, so why not try something else? Sharon said of course Faith was resistant to therapy at first, but now they’d lost all their momentum. Nick stated that Sharon had jumped right into Faith’s face, but he didn’t think they should’ve been confrontational with their daughter. Sharon felt justified, since Faith drank after promising it wouldn’t happen again. He argued that they didn’t know Faith drank, but Sharon said she knew. She also felt that things would get worse if Faith and Jordan kept thinking they could get away with it. Nick noted that they were supposed to be a united front, and fighting wouldn’t help. She said this wasn’t a fight – it was a spirited discussion, and she was right, and he was wrong. Sharon had to go to a meeting at Crimson Lights, and it couldn’t be postponed. She asked if he’d stay until Faith came back. He asked her to repeat after him – they were in this together. She did. She left.

Nikki returned from the main house without Faith. She’d left her playing chess with Victor. Nick was concerned Nikki filled Victor in, but she didn’t. Nikki relayed what Faith had said about feeling ganged up on and trapped. Nick wanted to find a solution to help Faith feel happy and safe. Nikki was happy to mentor Faith, but she thought it was best for her to see a professional.

Jordan went to Crimson Lights. She texted Faith to see where she was. Faith replied that she’d just purposely lost a chess match, and she was on her way. Sharon said that there was a lot going on at her house, and Faith would be busy. She asked Jordan to back off and give Faith space. Faith came onto the patio and overheard Sharon saying she didn’t want Jordan around Faith for now. Jordan said that if something was going on, maybe she could help – Faith was like a sister to her. Faith walked in and confronted Sharon. Jordan said that she was leaving, since Sharon didn’t want her around Faith. “How could you do that? She is my only friend,” Faith cried. Sharon said she had to look out for Faith’s best interests. Faith yelled to leave her alone, and she rushed out.

Gloria found Phyllis at the hotel. Phyllis didn’t know Gloria was in town for a visit. Gloria revealed she was here permanently. Phyllis tried to end the conversation, but Gloria was there for a job. She wanted to coordinate the Escape Club, which Lauren told her all about. Annoyed, Phyllis said the first rule was not to tell anyone about it. Gloria said no one knew a woman’s desire more than she did. Phyllis handled the Escape Club herself, but she was sure that Gloria would find something worthy of her. She suggested Newman. Gloria dismissively said she never considered it. Phyllis supposed Gloria couldn’t ask for a job if she was blackmailing them. She revealed that she knew Phyllis had something on a Newman executive and Kevin persuaded her not to use it. Gloria said Phyllis had it all wrong. Phyllis assured Gloria that she wouldn’t say anything, but she thought Gloria could use it as leverage to get a job from Victoria. Gloria wanted to work at the hotel.

Gloria met with Lauren at Crimson Lights. She was very upset, because she was desperate to get a job to pay her debts she racked up in L.A. but no one was willing to give her a chance. While Lauren was sympathetic, she said that nobody was willing to take a chance on Gloria because she burnt a lot of bridges in this town. Gloria tearfully conceded she’d made mistakes, but she’d survived and changed. She asked for a chance to prove herself. Lauren sighed and said she could hear Michael now. Gloria thought he’d be thrilled his two favorite women were working side by side. Lauren believed Michael would warn her that Gloria was trying to exploit their personal relationship and weasel her way into a job. Gloria said there was no downside because Lauren could fire her if her work wasn’t up to par. Lauren said she was thinking of promoting Sally, which would leave an opening as executive assistant. Lauren thought they’d kill each other within the week though. Gloria promised that she’d be an excellent assistant and subdued. She struggled with that last part, and Lauren said that it wasn’t believable that Gloria would be subdued. Gloria admitted she exaggerated a little. She promised she wouldn’t be any trouble – she just needed to get back on track and earn a paycheck. Lauren decided to think about it.

At Society, Tessa asked Mariah how she felt about helping Abby and Chance start a family. Mariah said she felt in love with Tessa for going on this crazy journey with her. She wondered how to repay Tessa. Tessa joked that they had a lifetime to figure it out. Tessa thought Mariah would be the most beautiful radiant surrogate in the world. Mariah said there would be so many firsts, but they wouldn’t belong to her and Tessa – they’d be Chance and Abby’s. She wondered if that bothered Tessa. Tessa said that if they ever decided to go down that road, Mariah wasn’t the only one who was capable of getting pregnant.

Abby was on her way into Society. She called her mom and left a message that everything had changed. She paused in the doorway as she overheard Mariah and Tessa talking about having a baby of their own some day and bandying about silly baby names like Hypotenuse. Mariah noted that Tessa brought up the idea of marriage once, but Mariah hadn’t wanted to talk about it while Sharon was still sick. Mariah thought they were at the place to have those conversations now. Tessa said they didn’t have to figure out things now. Mariah agreed that there was time now, but they could start. Abby walked in, and Mariah invited her to come celebrate.

Tessa planned to take a picture a day of Mariah from IVF to birth and make a flip book that Abby could show the baby one day. Mariah saw the look on Abby’s face and asked if something was wrong. Abby let them know about Chance’s results. She said he was so brave and sweet and hopeful after getting the results. She said Chance needed some time to think and process the news that this basic human thing wasn’t possible for him. Abby said Chance’s condition could be temporary, unlike hers, but making a decision now seemed rushed. She was sad, because she imagined her babies having Chance’s smile. “If I can’t carry and he can’t donate, is this really the right choice?,” she asked. Mariah said that they didn’t have to make any decisions now. She asked what Abby needed. Abby said she needed Mariah and Tessa to be together and in love. Abby was sure she’d be fine. Mariah said to call if Abby needed them. Abby left. Mariah was very sad for Abby and Chance. She said all they’d wanted was a baby of their own, and now the chance was taken away. She wondered how they would come back from that.
