Nick and Faith were at Society. When Phyllis joined them, Faith left the table to see if Lola was working tonight. Phyllis could tell Faith was unhappy to see her. She assumed Faith was still angry with her for telling Nick about the drinking and the reasons she was suspicious of Jordan. Nick said Faith was upset with him too, because she overheard him talking with Sharon about her, and she felt betrayed. He felt terrible for Faith, because her emotions were all over the place. Faith returned. Lola had the night off. Faith said she was going to do a group chat with her friends about schoolwork, and she asked for privacy. Nick and Phyllis went over to the couch and let Faith keep the table.

After Faith finished her call, Phyllis told her that the hotel was going to do a spa package targeted toward young people. She asked if Faith would be interested, and Faith said probably not. Nikki walked in and reported that the plane was grounded because of bad weather. She hoped they could fly out in the morning. Nick invited his mom to join. She didn’t want to impose, but Phyllis also encouraged it, so Nikki joined Faith at the table. Noting that it’d been a long time since Faith visited her horse, Nikki suggested they go for a ride and chat later. Faith said Nikki didn’t have to lie. She knew Nikki wanted to lecture her on the evils of drinking. Nikki said she didn’t want to lecture Faith, she was just concerned. Faith said they were all scared out of their minds, and they should be, because they had no idea what she’d really been up to. She listed strip poker, long island ice tea, which she’d learned didn’t really contain tea, but it tasted good. She said there was this one guy… “No. Hey, no,” Nick warned. “Why? It’s what you all think I’m doing isn’t it?,” Faith argued. Nick noted that nobody said that. Faith said Phyllis ratted her out for messing up and drinking too much a couple of times. “So now, thanks to that, I’m ‘out of control Faith’ headed down the same alcoholic path as Grandma because it’s in my genes,” she snapped.

Faith yelled that Nick and Sharon wanted her to go to therapy, and they acted like she couldn’t be trusted and never let her out of their sight. She was sick of them acting like she was a lost cause. She ran off, ignoring Nick’s pleas for her to wait. He tried to follow, but Nikki and Phyllis said to give her some time. He apologized to Nikki, as he assumed she wasn’t prepared for that. She clarified that she was more prepared than he knew, since Sharon had filled her in earlier. Nick said he’d wanted to tell Nikki about it, but she said it was just a timing thing, since she happened to run into Sharon. She assured him that they were all in it together. He knew Faith was struggling, and he’d hoped that tonight they could reassure her. Phyllis thought Faith was most upset with her. Nikki accused Phyllis of making this about her. Phyllis denied it. She said she was just thinking that she should talk to Faith, because maybe Faith would vent to her. Nikki said no – she felt she should talk to her granddaughter.

Faith stepped out of the restroom, drying her tears. She texted Jordan that her family was driving her crazy. Nikki came up and asked Faith to come outside with her. Back in the dining area, Nick hoped Nikki could get through to Faith, but he knew there was no magic wand to make everything better. Phyllis said teens were hard. Nick thought that maybe he and Sharon needed to be more proactive and stay more on top of Faith. Phyllis believed Faith felt backed into a corner, and putting a tight leash on her would make her rebel more. He said he couldn’t sit back and do nothing. She said gentle guidance was better than forcing Faith into what he thought was the right direction.

Outside, Faith apologized for losing it and calling Nikki a liar. Nikki said no apologies were necessary. She raised kids, and she knew it was difficult being young and misunderstood. She said it was almost like people didn’t see you for who you were. Faith said that’s exactly how it felt. She thought her parents were completely overreacting. Nikki wouldn’t go that far. She noted that Faith had been pushing her limits, and she knew Faith didn’t want to hear it, but she did have a predisposition to alcoholism. “So what? It’s my destiny?” Faith asked. Nikki said no one thought Faith was a lost cause. She promised that things would get better. They did for Nikki, who admitted she was a handful when she was younger. Faith had heard the stories. Nikki said her sister, Casey didn’t understand Nikki’s choices, and Nikki hated feeling judged. Nikki promised she’d never judge Faith. All she, Nick and Sharon wanted to do was love and protect Faith. Faith knew, but it didn’t always feel like that. She thought she was ready to go back inside. Nikki offered to go too, but Faith thought she had to do this herself. Nikki said Faith could call day or night. They said they loved each other, and Faith went inside.

Nick went to Faith and asked how she was doing. She apologized for going off earlier. He said she never had to apologize for how she felt, but she needed to be more respectful. She nodded. He said all he cared about was protecting her – she’d always be his little girl. She knew he thought he was doing what was best, but she wasn’t a little girl – she was growing up, and she wasn’t scared of monsters under the bed. She needed to learn to take care of herself, and she might mess up, but she promised she’d figure it out. He said okay. She suggested they start over, and he agreed. Phyllis walked over and said she was all about second chances. Faith was interested in the spa treatment Phyllis mentioned earlier.

Amanda had Devon meet her at the hotel lounge. She let him know she wouldn’t have time for dinner, but she could squeeze in drinks. She had to go out of town. He asked if she was saying their first official date would be out of town. She said she was going to be with his sister, not with him. He said he was more fun than his sister. She explained that it was a business trip. She mentioned that Jill had the Chancellor jet. He offered the use of his jet, and he offered to tag along if they wanted, since he always had work to do in Manhattan. He thought they’d have a hell of a time. She said he was laying on the charm, but she couldn’t mix business and pleasure on the trip. He was sure she and Lily weren’t going to work the whole time. She said it was different because Lily was a colleague. Amanda needed to stay focused and she couldn’t have any distractions. He took it as a compliment that she saw him as a distraction, since he assumed that meant she thought about him a lot.

Devon said he and Amanda had come a long way – adversaries, to acquaintances, to friends. She said good friends. She appreciated him being there for her. He enjoyed every single second of getting to know her, and he was excited to see what this lead to. He hoped that wasn’t too forward. She said he was honest, and she liked that. She was also looking forward to seeing where this went. He said a lot of people already thought they were a thing, which was crazy because they hadn’t had a date or a first kiss. She wasn’t sure a kiss was a good idea. He was sorry – he thought they were on the same page. She said they were. She wanted to kiss him, but she asked if he was sure about this. She wondered if it would be weird for him to kiss someone who looked exactly like his late wife. He said it wouldn’t be, because she wasn’t Hilary. When he first met her, he couldn’t help but think of Hilary, but he didn’t do that anymore, because they were different people. He saw Amanda for who she was, and he knew how her mind worked. He knew that she was ten steps ahead of other people, so he’d probably lose a lot of arguments in the future, and if they ordered Chinese, he had to get to the spring rolls first. He admired her strength and independence. He couldn’t wait to know everything there was to know about her. She said he was kind, generous and despite everything that happened to him, his heart was open and he knew what he wanted. She was excited to learn more about him.

Amanda had to go do some things for work before she packed. Devon understood. He said that for a non-official first date, it was pretty nice. She agreed. He asked if she’d changed her mind about the kiss, and she said soon. He watched her go to the elevator. After she was gone, he texted and said to let him know when she was on her way back from NY, because it’d give him something to look forward to. She read the text in the elevator and smiled, and she sent back an emoji blowing a kiss.

At ChanceComm, Billy taught the kids how to golf by putting balls into paper cups. Katie was successful, and Billy and Lily cheered for her. Victoria walked up and overheard. Billy said this was how he came up with his brilliant ideas, and Lily added that he had help from his partner. Victoria walked in and the kids were thrilled to see her. Billy asked Victoria if she wanted to golf, and she said thanks but no. He mentioned they were about to take the kids to dinner, and Johnny and Katie asked if Victoria could come. Lily said she had work to do, so Billy, Victoria and the kids could go together. Billy felt that they could all go. Johnny and Katie wanted pizza at home. Billy mentioned that Lily was leaving town tomorrow. Lily told them all to go have dinner, and she told Billy they’d have a nightcap afterward. Victoria thought that was a perfect solution. Lily adopted a strained smile.

Victoria, Billy and the kids were at her place. While he was ordering pizza, she mentioned that the children seemed to enjoy their time with him and Lily. The kids said they liked Lily. She was funny and nice. Victoria repeated that yes, she was nice and funny. Billy teased the kids by suggesting anchovies on the pizza. Later, Johnny and Katie were upstairs watching a movie. Victoria said Billy let the kids con him into more screen time. He assured her that he wouldn’t just sit them in front of a screen while she was gone – he’d take great care of them. Earlier, he’d sensed that it bothered her that the kids were getting along with Lily. He said that kids believed Lily was only a colleague and a friend. She said she wasn’t jealous of him and Lily or their new life. She was happy for him, but he’d asked her about this so often that it made her wonder if he was the one who wasn’t sure what he wanted.

After dinner and the kids were in bed, Billy and Victoria agreed that it was a good night. He said he didn’t want to leave Lily waiting, but before he left, he wanted to answer her question from earlier. She said not to, since she shouldn’t have asked. He noted that his “new life,” as she’d put it, included the kids. He wanted her to know he was happy, in a good place and he wasn’t questioning anything. He thought the reason he kept asking her that was because he wanted to know that the two of them were in a good place. She said they were. He told her he’d be back in the morning to get the kids, and he hoped she’d enjoy Hawaii.

Lily and Billy met at the hotel bar for drinks. He said she was a big hit with the kids, and she was glad to hear that. She guessed that Victoria didn’t appreciate her encroaching on the kids’ lives, though. He said he’d had the same feeling, but he asked Victoria about it, and she said she didn’t have a problem with it. “What else is she gonna say?,” Lily replied. He knew it wasn’t a simple yes or no answer. He said that co-parenting could get complicated, but Victoria liked and respected Lily. It was just weird to see your ex with someone else, then to see your kids with that person. He was sure it’d be weird for him too if he saw Victoria with another guy, then he saw the kids with the man too. As long as the person was a good man, he’d do his best to keep an open mind, though. He thought Victoria was trying to get to that place, but it would take time.

At the Chancellor house, Abby wanted to talk with Chance about their options for starting a family. She said the choices were adoption or surrogacy. Her eggs were viable, so they could have their own biological child. She could see pros and cons to both choices. He thought that they should use their hearts as well as their heads to make this decision. Abby thought adoption would be wonderful, but even if they found a birth mother who wanted to place her baby, that would be months into the pregnancy. Abby wanted to be part of the journey from the beginning and go to all the appointments. She desperately wanted to carry their baby, and the thought of someone else doing it took some getting used to, but with surrogacy, the baby would be half of both of them. She wanted surrogacy. He felt great about that, and he hoped their baby had her eyes.

Abby said there had been a roller coaster of finding out she couldn’t get pregnant to realizing they could still have the family they dreamed about. He wondered how to find a surrogate, and she said there were agencies that helped. She wished they could find someone they knew and trusted to carry their baby. He said that was a lot to ask. She knew they couldn’t ask Victoria, because she had her own personal history with pregnancy. He was sure they’d find the perfect person. Abby said a year ago, she wouldn’t have imagined any of this – him, marriage, a family. He felt that they were lucky. He said one day they would tell their child how much they wanted a baby and what an amazing gift they were. Abby noted that she didn’t have a conventional birth story either. She found out Victor was her father by accident, and she blurted it out to him. It was kind of nice having two dads – Victor and Brad. Ashley and Victor weren’t married when Abby was growing up, but they were both devoted parents. Chance said he didn’t get to know his biological father until adulthood, and after his stepfather died, it was just him and his mother, and they had a fantastic life. He said everyone had a unique story, and there was no single way to build a family.

Abby said they had to choose a professional who’d help them find candidates for surrogacy, then they’d have to meet the candidates. Even after that happened, there was no guarantee that the pregnancy would take the first time. He said that once it did, they’d be parents. She said that choosing a surrogate could be a long process. She still wished they could find someone they knew and trusted to be a surrogate – someone who wouldn’t think she was crazy when she called every night to make sure they made it home okay. He thought that was a nice idea, but maybe it wasn’t realistic. She considered it and said she might know the perfect person.
