The pilot was waiting for Victoria and Nikki, but Victoria was still at her desk working. Nikki urged her daughter to delegate the work to her team and get ready to relax in the Hawaiian sun.

Lily told Billy that they had an opportunity to acquire a media company, but it would require travel to NY. He said he’d take the kids to Manhattan, but Lily thought that she should travel to NY and he should join in by video chat. The business owner was a family man, and she thought he’d be impressed to see Billy with his kids. Victoria called to ask if he was sure about taking the kids. She knew it came out of the blue, and she was willing to stay. He was sure. He knew she’d do the same thing for him, and he was looking forward to having the kids. The call ended, and Billy asked Lily to dinner with him and the kids. She was hesitant, and she reiterated that she wanted to be introduced as a friend from work. He said that his kids were used to seeing him and Victoria in other relationships. Lily noted that the kids were older now, and this was Billy’s first relationship since his split with Victoria, so Lily wanted to be sensitive to the kids’ feelings. He appreciated that she knew the kids came first.

At Crimson Lights, Lily told Amanda that she’d be in NY on business for a week. Amanda offered to go and provide legal counsel, and Lily excitedly agreed. Lily said that she could pick up and go whenever and wherever, now that she didn’t have young kids. Amanda said it’d be at least a decade before Billy was in that boat. She marveled that the reckless Billy had to make careful plans, while his steady reliable partner was up for adventure at a moment’s notice. Lily was glad Billy’s kids were his top priority. She did admit it was causing some issues, but she was sure they’d work it out. Amanda and Lily made plans to shop and sight-see. Amanda remembered that Charlie lived in NY. Lily said she didn’t want to cramp his style, so they’d just have lunch. She was glad he had a lot going on, though. Amanda said that was the attitude a mother should have. Her emotions were all over the place because of her birth mother. There was some satisfaction in getting answers from Naya, but then Naya had gone back to pretending Amanda didn’t exist. Amanda thought she could let things go after getting answers, but the restraining order was insulting. Naya didn’t rush to her defense when Imani took out the restraining order – she did nothing. It galled Amanda that the pampered princess, Imani threatened her career. She said everything Imani had was because of her family’s status. There was part of her that wanted to teach Imani a lesson. She wouldn’t go public now, but she reserved the right to change her mind.

Billy went to Victoria’s and asked where Katie was. Victoria said she was upstairs in her room. She’d been quiet since she got home from school, and Victoria wondered if it was because of she didn’t want Victoria to go on the trip. He asked if this trip was really just for fun, or if Nikki was trying to escape her overbearing husband. Victoria said Nikki was trying to make her take a break. He thought it was a good idea for Victoria to out of town and let someone else to the heavy lifting. He noted that she’d been through a lot with running the company, keeping tabs on Adam and worrying about Billy being in jail. Katie came downstairs, and Billy told her that they were going to throw out all the rules and have fun. Victoria joined in on the banter, and Billy and Katie danced.

Katie suggested Victoria should stay home with them, but Billy said no because Nikki would be all alone, and she’d be sad. Katie didn’t want her grandmother to be sad, and she appeared to accept that Victoria was leaving. Katie went back upstairs. Victoria told Billy he was a great father. Nikki arrived, and Victoria and Katie were upstairs. He thought that Katie was going to successfully talk Victoria out of going on the trip. Nikki was adamant that Victoria needed to go, and Billy said he agreed. Victoria came downstairs and reported that she’d be staying home since Katie was feeling under the weather. Nikki told Billy to put Victoria’s suitcase in the car. She told Victoria not to let Katie grow up thinking she could manipulate her mother. Nikki instructed Victoria to teach Katie the importance of self-care, so she didn’t grow up to be a workaholic too. Victoria denied being a workaholic, and Nikki said to prove it.

Billy brought Katie to ChanceComm and reintroduced Katie to Lily. Katie didn’t remember Lily, since it’d been so long since they last saw each other. Johnny was at practice, but he’d be coming by later. Lily and Billy told Katie what they did at ChanceComm. Lily showed Katie a new kids’ app that ChancComm developed. Billy grinned watching them interact.

Victoria came home because she forgot her phone. She called Billy to ask where he was. He said he brought Katie to work to show her the company that would be hers. She heard laughing and asked what was happening. He said Katie was playing with Lily. Victoria was happy about that. He didn’t want to put Victoria on the phone because it might make Katie sad again. She said okay. The call ended, and the camera pulled back, showing Victoria all alone in the empty house.

At the penthouse, Chelsea dreamed that she made a full recovery, but when she yelled for Adam to show him that she could walk, he wasn’t there. She opened the door, and found herself in Sharon’s cottage. Sharon and Adam were together, and they wanted to celebrate Chelsea’s recovery. Chelsea looked at them in confusion. She asked what Adam was doing there. “What did you expect? This was bound to happen,” he replied. She screamed no, and then she woke up.

Adam met with Nate at Society and reported that Chelsea’s recovery had stalled. Nate had heard that from Dr. Cavett. There was no physiological reason that to explain Chelsea’s inability to move her left side. Adam said when Chelsea moved her hand in the hospital, they’d been talking about their son, so he thought that her emotions played a role in her recovery. Nate and Adam both felt it was time to bring in a mental health professional. Nate was going to make some calls and help Adam and Chelsea find a therapist they liked, but Adam thought that they should use someone Chelsea already knew. He said Sharon treated him and Connor. Nate was surprised Adam was on speaking terms with Sharon after she signed off on having him committed. Adam recognized that Sharon had his best interests at heart, and he believed she was pressured by Victor. He said he and Victor were on better terms. Nate asked how Chelsea felt about Sharon. Adam said they’d never be friends, but Chelsea has always put aside her personal feelings when they needed professional help.

Adam went home. The nurse said Chelsea had declined offers to watch television or listen to audio books. After the nurse left the room, Adam said everyone agreed Chelsea had been working as hard as she could, and now they’d all decided to bring in a mental health expert. She was annoyed, but not surprised when he said that he’d suggested they hire Sharon. Chelsea blinked no. Adam knew Chelsea didn’t like or trust Sharon. Chelsea thought to herself that she didn’t trust Adam when it came to Sharon. Adam said Sharon helped him and Connor, and she was patient and kind. Chelsea didn’t want to hear how amazing his ex was. Adam said he’d make a deal with the devil to get Chelsea a full recovery. He wanted her to have the life she deserved with her and Connor. He asked her to just give it a try. She agreed to do it, and she said to herself to keep your friends close and enemies closer. He told Chelsea he loved her, then he left.

Adam went to Sharon’s and asked her to become part of Chelsea’s recovery team. He explained Chelsea had a psychological block that was impeding her progress. Sharon appreciated that Adam had that kind of confidence in her, but there were other mental health professionals who had experience working with stroke patients. She added that Chelsea seemed agitated when she visited the other day. Adam admitted he’d been wrong – Chelsea really was ticked off that Sharon was there, but that was exactly why he thought Sharon should be involved. He said Chelsea had a breakthrough after Sharon left – she made a sound. “You don’t want me to treat Chelsea, you just want me to agitate her,” Sharon noted. Adam knew how it sounded. She said it sounded awful. He wanted her to treat Chelsea in a way that would motivate her. He said Chelsea needed something to push against. Sharon thought this sounded unethical. Adam said Chelsea agreed to it, because she’d do anything to get well. He said Sharon was the only one who could work with Chelsea this way. He asked her to think about it. Back at the penthouse, Chelsea said to herself she could watch Sharon and Adam and see how they interacted, and maybe Sharon could help her get stronger. She hoped she could regain the use of her hands and use them to throttle Sharon.

Nate ran into Amanda at Crimson Lights. He accepted her invitation to join her. She congratulated him on his new job at ChanceComm. He wasn’t sure about the job. He didn’t want to contribute to the problem of patients diagnosing themselves with things they read online. She thought he could help prevent that. She said he could be the most famous doctor in the country, but he said he didn’t want fame. She heard he had qualms about mentoring Moses. He admitted he was inclined to say yes now, after talking with Elena. Nate’s mother was a doctor, and she’d been there for him. He wanted to pay it forward. She asked if he decided to do it because he thought it’d smooth things over with Devon. He didn’t expect Devon to suddenly forgive him. She could tell he missed Devon, though. He said family could be complicated. He heard about the restraining order. It was the last thing he expected when he suggested she get a DNA test. He asked if she regretted it, and she said no, because she got answers she’d been wanting her entire life. She was no stranger to rejection, and she could deal with it, especially since Devon had her back. She said Devon always seemed to know what she needed to hear. Nate was glad Amanda and Devon had each other.
