At his home, Chance went on AskMDNow, while he thought Abby was napping, and researched uterine scarring and female fertility. She came downstairs crying because she couldn’t sleep. She kept reliving the moment when the doctor told them she couldn’t get pregnant.

At Crimson Lights, Victor got a text from Ashley saying Abby needed him. Nikki hoped it wasn’t about Chance, since they seemed like such a happy couple. Nikki offered to go with Victor, but he thought he should go alone. Once he left, Sharon approached Nikki looking for advice. Sharon talked about all that Faith had been through – Sharon’s illness, leaving boarding school, high school, then Billy’s article made it worse. The other students were harassing her about it. Nikki and Victor were furious with Billy for including Faith’s kidnapping in the article. She offered to talk to the dean of students. Sharon revealed that there were a couple of times that she and Nick knew of that Faith had been drinking.

Nikki didn’t know why Nick didn’t tell her about this. Sharon said he’d been planning to. Sharon recalled that when she and Rey came home from Miami, Faith was too perky. Nikki understood – she raised two teens. Sharon mentioned that Jordan, an older girl, was around both times Faith drank. Nikki thought that Sharon and Nick should break up that friendship. Sharon knew it was good for teens to build a social circle, and Faith had to leave all her friends at boarding school, so if she had a genuine connection with Jordan, it seemed harsh to break it up. Nikki was adamant that if Jordan was a bad influence, Nick and Sharon had to step in. Sharon said they would if things got to that point, but right now they were trying to figure out Jordan’s level of involvement in this. Sharon wasn’t sure what to do. “So you decided to go to the family alcoholic for advice?,” Nikki asked. Sharon meant no offense. Nikki was glad that Sharon felt she could come to her about Faith. She wanted to talk to Faith about the choices she’d made. Sharon said she’d appreciate that.

Sharon mentioned she and Nick wanted Faith to get therapy. Nikki assumed Faith knew about Nikki’s alcoholism. Sharon said yes, and they also told Faith how Cassie died. Cassie wasn’t drinking, but alcohol was involved. Sharon said she and Nick were trying not to overreact, but the way they lost Cassie… Nikki thought Sharon was right to be concerned. Nikki said kids who started drinking young were more likely to form a dependence, become sexually active at an early age and to struggle in school. Sharon was scared of where this could be heading. Nikki advised keeping the lines of communication open. Secrets and lies were a classic defense mechanism for people with substance abuse disorders, and that wasn’t a habit they wanted Faith to get into, Nikki said. Sharon agreed.

Victor arrived at Abby’s. Chance thought it was best that Victor leave and come back when Abby had some rest, but Abby was okay with Victor staying. Later, Victor called a surgeon who specialized in cases like this. The specialist was going to connect with Abby’s doctor and look at the video of the procedure. Victor called Nikki. Chance knew that Victor was trying to be helpful, but he reminded Abby that they’d agreed to let things settle before making any decisions. Abby knew, but she was thinking there was no harm in a second opinion. She stated that the Newmans were proactive, and they never gave up. Chance hoped the specialist would have a different take on things. Victor finished his call and told Abby that Nikki sent her best, and he’d be staying at the Chancellor house until the doctor in Chicago called back.

The doctor did a video chat, and she said unfortunately, she agreed that the scarring was too extensive for surgery. Victor and Abby thanked the doctor, then the call ended. Victor vowed to find a specialist who could develop a method to treat Abby. Abby looked at Victor through tears. He called another doctor and got a third opinion. It wasn’t what he wanted to hear. Abby thanked Victor for trying. He said he thought there was another way for Abby and Chance to have a child. Chance said they’d consider it another day, but now it was time for Abby to rest. Victor loved Abby, and he’d do anything to her. He said to let him know when she was ready, and he left. Chance made food for Abby, but when he returned, she was sleeping.

Back at Crimson Lights, Nikki assured Sharon that the family would pull together and support Faith. Sharon said it meant a lot to her that Faith was surrounded by love. That was something Sharon had reminded herself when she was going through cancer treatments, especially on days when she didn't know if she would be able to be there for her girls. Nikki was glad Sharon recovered – it was the answer to all their prayers. Sharon said she couldn’t have done it without everyone on her team, which included Nikki. Nikki said Sharon was family, and could always count on her support, especially when it came to the granddaughter they all adored. Faith walked in, and Nikki said she’d been planning to arrange a day to spend time with her. Faith said that would be great. Nikki left. Faith surmised that Sharon told Nikki about the drinking, and she was angry. She snapped that now her grandmother thought she was an alcoholic.

Sharon said she did tell Nikki that Faith experimented with alcohol, and Sharon and Nick wanted Faith to hear Nikki out. Faith contended that drinking a couple times didn’t make her an alcoholic. Sharon noted that no one said she was. Faith said it felt like they were. Sharon reminded Faith that children and grandchildren of alcoholics were predisposed to substance abuse, and they needed to take that seriously. Faith asked who else they planned to tell – maybe they could ask Billy to put out article, so the entire town could know. Sharon said she went to Nikki because she needed advice – she didn’t always have the answers. Faith said Sharon could’ve come to her. Faith knew what she needed, and it wasn’t labels, and it definitely wasn’t therapy. Sharon wondered why Faith would bring up therapy, and she asked if Faith eavesdropped on her conversation with Nick. Faith felt she had no choice but to listen in, when Nick and Sharon were sneaking around making plans behind her back. Sharon said it wasn’t like that. Faith argued that Sharon just arranged for her to get a lecture from Nikki about the evils of drinking, as if she didn’t already know. Sharon said Nikki wanted to spend time with Faith because she loved her and wanted to support her making good decisions. Faith maintained that she didn’t need support – she just made a mistake. She said everyone said it was fine to make mistakes because you learned from them, but now they were all acting like it was a huge crisis, but she wasn’t an addict or a headcase. “I’m just a normal person who had a crappy year. Will you please just accept that and leave me alone,” Faith exclaimed before storming off.

Nikki and Victor were at Society. She felt bad for Abby. She remembered what it was like when Victoria received similar news. He wished he could’ve done more. He said Chance was quiet, but obviously concerned. She told him about the situation with Faith. He said that was no good, but Faith was testing her limits. She said it was dangerous. He agreed. He was glad Sharon reached out to Nikki and that Ashley reached out to him about Abby. He also planned to be there for Adam. She was sure this wasn’t the relaxing retirement he pictured. He said the most important thing was his family and beautiful wife. He didn’t want her to tax her own health. She said she was fine – the trip to London was restorative. He loved it too. She enjoyed spending time with Noah and being in London, but she was glad they were home. She said the family needed them, and she hoped she and Victor could help them together.

Elena ran into Amanda at the hotel. Amanda asked the front desk for a package around the same time Elena rented a room. Amanda asked what brought Elena there. She was meeting Nate, but he was running behind schedule, because he was with Lily. Amanda said Lily wanted Nate to be the new spokesperson for AskMDNow, and she asked how Elena felt. Elena supported it. She asked how things were with Devon and Amanda. Amanda said they were just friends. Elena noted that Devon said the same thing. Elena accepted things with Devon were over, but she still worried about him. She said it’d give her peace of mind if he were in a relationship, so it’d show he was getting over what she did to him. Amanda said he appeared to be handling the breakup just fine. Elena was glad Amanda was there for him. Amanda said it was the other way around – Devon had been her rock since she tracked down her birth mother.

Amanda said talking with Naya and getting answers was cathartic in a way, even though the answers were painful. Just as Amanda was convincing herself that she had enough answers and could move on, Imani slapped her with a restraining order, and it cut deeper than she’d expected. Elena thought it must’ve conjured up memories of Ripley filing a restraining order against Amanda to mess with her head. Amanda never considered that, but she thought Elena was right. She said when Imani lashed out, she’d picked at a not entirely healed wound. Elena assumed it was unintentional, but Amanda said not to be too sure, because she could tell Imani had a killer instinct. The more Elena heard about these people, the more she felt like Amanda was better off without them. Amanda said Devon encouraged her to keep an open mind, because of his experiences with Tucker. As far as Amanda was concerned, if the only family she came out of this with was Devon, that was fine with her. Elena realized Amanda and Devon had become so close. Amanda felt fortunate that she had someone she could come by their house in the middle of the night and vent about her birth mother. Devon texted Amanda asking to meet, and she told Elena. Elena said it was great catching up, and Amanda thanked her for listening.

At ChanceComm, Lily gave Nate a labcoat with his name and ASKMDNow on it to film his segments. He still wasn’t sure he wanted to do it. She was sure he’d never pass up on the chance to help so many people, and she said he knew how relentless she could be. He said he bet Billy had no idea what he was getting into when they got together. She asked who told him about her and Billy, and he said no one until she just did. She said it was a new relationship, and they didn’t know where it was going or where they wanted it to go. He assumed it wasn’t serious. She said she wouldn’t go that far. She explained that she and Billy bonded because they were both building from the ground up. He didn’t like her comparing herself to Billy. She asked what he had against Billy. Nate had a front row seat to what went down with Billy and Amanda while he was with Victoria. He said Amanda and Billy had formed an intense relationship, while Victoria was at home caring for the kids. Nate assumed Lily thought he had no place to talk after what happened with Elena. Lily didn’t feel that way. She knew Billy made bad decisions, but she believed he’d changed. Nate didn’t want Lily to get hurt. She appreciated that. She went back to the job offer. She listed all the reasons he’d be perfect for the job, until he agreed to take it on a trial basis. He insisted that he and ChanceComm both have the option opt out if either party wasn’t happy. She agreed to have that put into the contract, even though it wasn’t necessary, since he’d be phenomenal.

Lily went to Society, and she saw Devon. He was glad when she told him that Nate agreed to take the job. Devon told Lily that their little brother, Moses might come to live with him. Moses wanted to go to Walnut Grove, and he hoped their cousin Nate could be a mentor, since he was thinking of going into medicine. Lily said that during Christmas, she felt that their family was splintering, but now their Genoa City branch of the family tree was growing. She looked forward to spending time with Moses and thought about getting him an internship at AskMDNow. She’d told Billy she was happy she wasn’t raising kids anymore, but she kind of missed having a teen around. “Hang on a second, you and Billy are talking about kids and you wanted more?,” Devon asked. Lily said she could answer, but then they’d have to talk about what was going on with him and Amanda. She told him not to act like nothing was going on, because she saw the sparkle in his eye whenever she mentioned Amanda. He smiled and said Lily could go now. She teased him by saying Amanda’s name over and over again, then she left.

Amanda arrived at the restaurant and she apologized for running late. Devon said she was worth waiting for. She told him about her talk with Elena and how it made her realize how much she’d been relying on Devon. He said he was happy to be there for her. He was sure she didn’t want to keep talking about it, so they could put it to the side. She was glad. He told her that Lily thought there was more going on between them than they were willing to admit. It made him wonder if his sister was on to something. He asked Amanda if she’d like to go on an official date.

Nate went to the room Elena rented and told Elena he took the job on a trial basis. She was sure it’d work out, because he was a natural. She said this made their rendezvous more than a date – it was a celebration. They’d both been looking forward to this all day. She said she’d be happy when they didn’t have to rent hotel rooms. He said he wouldn’t have started the massive remodel on his house if he’d had any idea where things were headed for them. She asked how difficult it’d be to meet at his place. All his furniture was in storage, there was no drywall or running water, and there was construction dust everywhere. He couldn’t wait until it was finished and he could bring her there.

Elena told Nate that she ran into Amanda, and it was kind of awkward because, it was probably in her head, but she felt like Devon’s friends and family were ticked at her on his behalf. It was also awkward because she was carrying the room key for Nate. She said Amanda was perfectly pleasant though. She filled him in on Amanda’s encounters with her birth family and Devon supporting her through it. Nate asked Elena how she felt about that. Elena said Amanda and Devon seemed good for each other, so she guessed that was great. He could see it was hard for her to say that, and he assured her it was okay to admit she still cared about Devon. Elena said that didn’t effect how she felt about Nate – she wanted this to work. He felt the same way. After Elena had sex with Nate, she fell asleep and had a dream about having sex with Devon. She woke up looking rattled, and Nate asked if she was okay. She said she just forgot where she was for a second.
