Sally and Jack chatted when they ran into each other at Crimson Lights. She brought up Summer and Kyle having a meeting at Spencer Publication, and he asked if there was a reason she was uncomfortable with that. She said she had no issue with Summer meeting with the Spencers, and she claimed she was interested in the meeting because of her ties to the Spencers and the Forresters. Jack said Sallys personal life was none of his business, but since JCV was part of Fenmores and Fenmores was part of Jabot, it was important to him that Summer and Sally had a good working dynamic. He asked if he still had reason to be worried. She admitted there was something he should know.
Sally said she left L.A. to get a fresh start and to get rid of some painful memories. There were some people in L.A. who had less than glowing things to say about her. She was trying to avoid telling Jack because she wanted to avoid having him look at her the way he was right now. She said she could tell Summer still didnt completely trust her, and if she heard some of the things people in L.A. had to say about her, she might form an even lower opinion of Sally. Sally had worked really hard to get a fresh start, and she didnt want that tarnished. Jack wanted to know how bad these stories were. Sally said shed never had bad intentions her mind didnt work that way but shed done some things that could be seen in a negative light. Her new job mattered to her, and shed hate to have Summer hear something that would lead credence to Theos bogus claim that Sally wanted Summers job and man. Jack said Summer was intelligent and empathetic she wouldnt base her all her thinking on some rumor she heard, especially one that originated with Theo. Lauren was pleased when she arrived and saw them.
As Lauren was sure Sally knew, Fenmores didnt just acquire JCV, but Jabots clothing line. She thought Sally might want to come up with some design marketing strategies for the new season. Sally was excited for the opportunity, and she said she wouldnt let Lauren down. She went to get to work. Lauren told Jack she looked forward to what Sally would come up with, and she wanted to see what would happen when Sallys talent and abilities were focused. She hoped the project would get Sallys mind off JCV and Summer.
In L.A., Kyle and Summer took pictures of each other and enjoyed the sunny weather. She was sure that Sallys ex, Wyatt Spencer, would know her secrets. Wyatt arrived, and Kyle left the outdoor cafe. Summer told Wyatt she wanted to recreate JCV and start some excitement for the label. Wyatt said Spencer Publications would love to help revamp the label. Afterward, she said that Sally said hello. He asked how she knew Sally. She revealed that Sally was living in Genoa City and working as Laurens assistant. He said that was a big step down from running Spectra and designing for Forrester. He was surprised she accepted the job. Summer said Sally seemed hardworking and humble, and Wyatt laughed. He didnt think humble described Sally.
Summer said Sally had made quite the mark in Genoa City, and she was quite charming. Wyatt was glad Sally was doing well. He said hed talk to his father about his ideas for JCV. He left, and Kyle returned. Sally said she was right Wyatt didnt want to talk about it, but she could tell from his expression that Sally had a juicy secret. She sensed bad blood between Sally and Wyatt. She thought this was a good start to her fact finding mission. She thanked Kyle for being on board. Summer was also excited about the partnership with Spencer. They decided to go to the beach. She said they could have fun and find out what Sally was hiding. She refused to leave L.A. without Sallys secret. Before they could leave for the beach, Wyatt called back to say his father signed off on working with JCV. Summer said she was free whenever Wyatt was. She apologized if she put him on the spot about Sally. He said it wasnt a problem.
Mariah ran into Abby at Society and saw that she was upset. Abby thought she shouldnt bother Mariah with this. Mariah said Abby could tell her anything maid of honor rules still applied. Abby opened up about the struggles to get pregnant and the doctor wanting to do a procedure to look at the scarring from her miscarriage. Mariah started texting. She apologized for doing so, but she said she hoped it paid off. Mariah thought Abby was right to go to her doctor for answers. Abby was freaking out. Mariah said the issue, if there was one, could be easily treatable. Abby had come to the restaurant to work instead of worry, but the irrational part of her mind kept thinking of what-ifs. The doctor had said that uterine scarring was common with women who had miscarriages, and it didnt always cause issues. Mariah urged Abby to stay positive. Mariah said shed been texting because she thought Abby could use a distraction. Tessa arrived, summoned by Mariah.
Abby was fearful shed bring the mood down, and Tessa said they just wanted to see Abby happy. Music started, and Mariah and Tessa danced. They told Abby to join them. She did, even though she was worried about looking silly. Lola walked in on the dance party, and Abby told her what was going on. She was sorry, but shed make something chocolate for them to eat. Later, they all ate dessert. Mariah invited them back to her place for movies. Lola had to stay and clean up, and Abby wanted to be home when Chance got off work. She felt so much better thanks to all of them. Tessa said they should make it a regular thing. Everyone gave Abby well wishes.
Abby went home and found the living room filled with roses. There was a card from Chance saying hed be home later than he thought. He promised things would go okay tomorrow. She imagined bringing her newborn home from the hospital. She called Chance to thank him for the flowers and said he and her amazing friends made her feel so much better.
Lola hoped Abby could have a baby. Mariah thought Abby and Chance deserved a baby. Theyd give it stability, security and love. Tessa said she and Mariah didnt have that growing up. Mariah said that didnt have to define you if you didnt let it. Lola asked if Mariah and Tessa wanted kids. They realized theyd never really talked about it. They werent ready, but someday. Lola said last year, she and Kyle had a scare which made her think about it. She did want kids one day, but right now Society was her baby, and she didnt even have time to date. Lola went back to the kitchen. Tessa said she was never happier than when she was with Mariah. Mariah felt the same.
Victoria was at The Grand Phoenix, and she verbally sparred with Phyllis. Phyllis said Victoria tried to stick it to her and lost. Victoria thought she won. Phyllis hinted that she might have something up her sleeve. Phyllis said Victoria got petty and vindictive. Victoria said it wasnt her fault that she had to beg Nick for cash because she couldnt bail herself out. Victoria had moved on, and she thought Phyllis should too. Victoria mentioned that she had a meeting at the hotel. She added that she and Billy had taken the kids ice skating, and then they were meeting later for dinner at her place. As Victoria started to walk away, Phyllis asked if she was meeting with a headhunter to replace the CFO she had in the L.A. subsidiary.
Victoria claimed she had no idea what Phyllis was talking about. Phyllis said that gaslighting didnt work on her and playing dumb didnt suit Victoria. Phyllis said she was aware that Victoria made the CFO resign because he was embezzling, and she made him pay back every penny so her daddy didnt find out. Phyllis assumed the Newman throne Victoria was sitting on was in jeopardy. Victoria sat back down and asked what Phyllis was going to do with this information. She guessed this was the prelude to blackmail. Phyllis thought about that and decided not to do it. Victoria assumed Phyllis would tell Victor. Phyllis had also decided against that. She wanted Victoria to know that she had the power to destroy her and decided not to. She said she could always use this against Victoria if Victoria gave her reason to do so. Victoria didnt think it was morally better for Phyllis to imply that Victoria might owe her something in the future. Phyllis asked if Victoria would prefer the alternative. Phyllis told Victoria to run along to her meeting. Youre welcome, Phyllis said. Victoria left, and Nick appeared, wanting to know what was going on.
Phyllis said she and Victoria just engaged in their usual game of one-upmanship. Nick overheard Phyllis saying youre welcome, like she was lording something over Victoria. Phyllis didnt want to discuss it, since it was all over, but Nick refused to let it go. Phyllis said she may or may not have gotten hold of some information that wouldve allowed her to blackmail Victoria. She said she took the high road. He asked what was up with the tension. Phyllis said she wasnt a saint she needed to rub Victorias face in it. She said Victoria did something at Newman and covered it up, and if Victor found out She chuckled. He asked how she got this information, and she said a friend. He remembered seeing her with Kevin the other night. She admitted Kevin knew what happened, and he was the one who talked her out of blackmailing Victoria. She said Kevin reminded her that theyd both changed, and that she had too much to lose. Phyllis said even though she wanted to pay Nick back, she couldnt extort his sister, even though it wouldve been fun and poetic justice, she couldnt stoop that low. Nick thought that was too bad. He wouldve enjoyed watching Phyllis give Victoria a taste of her own medicine.
Phyllis asked if Nick was saying hed be okay with her blackmailing his sister. He said absolutely not because her doing something risky and illegal would be a terrible idea. But he wouldnt have minded Victoria catching a little heat from Victor. It scared him how much Victoria was emulating Victor. Victoria reminded Nick of Victor and Adam, and he wouldnt have minded seeing her get her wings clipped a bit. Phyllis didnt think this sounded like Nick. He said everything that happened with her and Victoria changed his outlook. He was tired of the way Victoria was treating people. He admired Phyllis for doing the right thing for herself, for their relationship and for their daughter. He was proud of her. She asked how proud he was. He said hed take her upstairs and show her.
Jordan invited Faith over, through text. Faith was home at the cottage. She declined because she had to be careful, since her parents knew she was with Jordan both times she was caught drinking. Jordan replied with a joke that Faith was lucky she only got caught twice. Faith said her parents were suspicious of Jordan. Jordan said shed win them over. Faith loved the idea, but she didnt want Jordan trying that until Nick and Sharon had calmed down a bit.
