It was the middle of the night. The plane had an emergency landing in rural Colorado because of the snowstorm. Everyone was safe, but stressed as the pilot said they’d be grounded for a few hours at least, and maybe all night. Billy sniped at Kyle. Billy stated that if they’d flown to Seattle, the way Billy wanted, instead of trying to get to L.A. first, they wouldn’t be stranded right now. Kyle said he had no idea they were flying into a freak storm, and neither did the pilot. The point did not satisfy Billy. Kyle didn’t see why he should’ve prioritized Billy’s trip over the trip to L.A. He noted that Billy didn’t work for Jabot anymore, so since this was a Jabot jet, Jabot business trips came first. Summer and Lily defused the tension for a bit. Lily said they could play a game to pass the time, like truth or dare. Nobody looked interested, and she said she was kidding. Billy wanted to go see if there was a hotel somewhere around. Lily didn’t want Billy going out alone in the blizzard. Kyle said he’d go. Billy didn’t want Kyle to slow him down. Kyle told the “old man” he could handle it. They got off the plane, still bickering with each other. Lily asked if Kyle and Billy were always like that, and Summer said most of the time. “You know how family can be, right?,” she added.

Lily was surprised by the animosity between Billy and Kyle. Summer said they were both competive and the battle for Jabot got unpleasant. She thought they both had a hard time getting over a grudge. Summer said that even when Kyle was trying to annoy Billy, he seemed less likely to take the bait. She thought that was Lily’s influence. Lily acted like she didn’t know what Summer meant. Summer said it was obvious Lily and Billy were together. Lily said Billy made her happy too. She never thought they’d become involve, but it felt right. Summer was happy for them. She knew Lily had been through a lot over the past couple years, so it was nice to see her fall in love. Lily asked if it seemed like she was falling in love, and Summer said yes. Lily said she and Billy were just seeing where things went, and they weren’t labeling. Things. It was exciting to be in a new relationship, or a different version of an old one – she and Billy actually dated briefly a long time ago, but their paths took them different ways. She thought they were both in a good place now, and it felt like the time was right. Summer could relate. She’d known Kyle all her life, and it took a long time to get it right, but she thought they finally had. She adored him, and no one made him smile like he did. Lily said Billy could be charming when he wanted to be. Summer admitted she once saw the appeal. Lily looked surprised. Summer said it was a long time ago, when he was dating her mom. She wasn’t sure why she brought that up. Lily said it was fine – they all had a past, which made them who they were.

Lily asked about running JCV. Summer loved it. Billy came in shivering. Summer asked where Kyle was. Billy said Kyle would be there soon – he lacked endurance. Kyle walked in griping about Billy taking them in the wrong direction for an hour. Billy said there was good news and bad news – good – he and Kyle didn’t kill each other – bad – by the time they finally got to a gas station, the attendant said the nearest hotel was thirty miles away. They would be stuck there until take off.

In Wilmette, Amanda was glad to be face to face with Naya. Naya said Amanda shouldn’t have come. Amanda felt she had no choice. Naya insisted she only had one daughter, but Amanda said they both knew that wasn’t true. She knew Naya got scared and lied to Imani, which lead to Imani confronting Amanda. Amanda needed answers, and she wasn’t going away. Naya tried to shut the door, but Amanda grabbed it and begged her not to. She needed to know why Naya didn’t raise her and Hilary and why she separated the twins. Amanda didn’t want money or to tarnish Naya or to get between her and Imani. She just thought Naya owed her some answers.

Amanda assumed that Naya must’ve wondered if she’d ever get the opportunity to explain herself. She promised to leave Naya alone after she got answers. “You win,” Naya said, musing that Amanda had probably heard that before. Amanda said she was a lawyer. Naya didn’t want to talk at the house, because she didn’t want her husband and daughter to know about Amanda. She said she’d meet Amanda in Genoa City and tell her husband she had to take a work trip. Amanda wasn’t sure Naya would keep her word after last time, but Naya promised.

Naya met Amanda at the hotel. Amanda asked if Naya would like to go up to her room for privacy. Naya did. “Let’s get this over with,” she said. Upstairs, Naya asked where she should start. Amanda wanted to know everything.

Nikki and Victoria were at Society catching up after work. In passing, Victoria mentioned a toy she bought the kids. Nikki assumed she had to go home to set it up, but Victoria said she had time to chat. Nikki mentioned that Victor hired a specialist for Chelsea. Victoria sighed, though she conceded that Chelsea did need help. Nikki could tell Victoria was concerned Victor would get pulled back into Adam’s orbit. Victoria said Victor wasn’t getting pulled in – he was running in. she was annoyed that Adam had gone back on his vow to separate himself from the family and had called Victor the moment he needed help. Nikki said Victor and Adam agreed that Chelsea’s situation took precedence, and Nikki tended to agree. Victoria didn’t believe that a resourceful guy like Adam needed Victor to find a specialist. She thought he was using the situation to wrap Victor around his finger again. She was sure Adam would turn on Victor in time, then he’d blame the family for what happened with him and Chelsea.

Nick came to meet Nikki, and his demeanor cooled when he realized that Victoria was there too. She assured him she wasn’t staying. After she left, Nikki asked why he and Victoria were so cold toward each other. He felt that Victoria took things too far with Phyllis and the hotel. Nikki didn’t condone what Victoria did, but at least she let Phyllis buy the property back. He said Victoria set out to undermine the woman he loved, and she kept throwing it in Phyllis’s face. She understood he felt protective over Phyllis, but Victoria was his sister, surely he could get past this. He said she couldn’t just gloss over it. She denied doing that. He said one moment she acknowledged Victoria was wrong, then the next she made excuses for it. He said that Victoria was becoming more like Victor every day. He felt she was dealing with Victoria the same way she dealt with Victor, which was her prerogative, but he wasn’t going to deal with it.

At the penthouse, Adam gave Chelsea a pep talk. He promised physical therapy would get easier in time. He said Victor had hired the best specialist around, because he didn’t settle. Adam asked if Chelsea liked Dr. Cavett. She blinked yes.

Chloe came to visit Chelsea. Adam said he and Chloe had their issues, but they both loved Chelsea, and that was why he invited Chloe over. He thought it’d lift Chelsea’s spirits to see her best friend. He said he’d give them some space, and the nurse was in the other room if they needed something. He warned Chloe that Chelsea tired easily and he said she responded with blinks – one for yes, two for no. He left. Chloe asked if Adam was taking good care of Chelsea. Chelsea signaled yes. Chloe showed off pictures of Miles and talked about how much Bella loved him. Chelsea looked sad. Chloe apologized, she promised that Chelsea would get her life bac. She was sorry for pressuring Chelsea into starting the company when she didn’t need that kind of stress. She promised to never try and tell Chelsea how to live her life again. Chloe said they'd’ forget about all the baggage and have a fresh start. Chelsea agreed.

Phyllis was in her hotel suite. Kevin texted asking to meet. Nick walked up buttoning his shirt. He said that was a nice benefit after a long day. He was going to dinner with Nikki then home to Faith and Christian. He’d promised to play building blocks with his son. He told her to be good while he was gone. Kevin arrived after Nick left, and Phyllis assumed he brought the flash drive. She promised him a cut, but she said she was the face of this operation. She was ecstatic about getting to tell Victoria that she knew all about the guy who was embezzling money from Newman on her watch. She was sure Victoria would pay so much money to keep her from telling Victor. Kevin wasn’t interested in blackmailing Victoria, so it wasn’t going to happen. She said no one would know he was involved. He said her word didn’t always stick. He understood she was mad Victoria tried to steal the hotel, but she got it back, so this was just about revenge. She said yes, it was about revenge, and also she had to pay Victoria back. She said Victoria started this, and she deserved whatever Phyllis dished out. He said that fighting dirty always ended badly, and he was saying no to protect her from herself. He’d decided it was best to make the flash drive disappear. It was gone for good. She said this wasn’t the Kevin she knew. He said he’d changed and so had she. He said she had the hotel, and she was in a solid relationship with a great guy. He had a gorgeous son, an amazing daughter, Chloe, the love of his life and a great job. He wasn’t willing to put any of that at risk.

Kevin said that if Phyllis struck out at Victoria, Victoria would strike back. He asked how Nick would respond if she blackmailed Victoria. She said Nick agreed with her, and he’d forgiven her for a lot worse. He told her to pay Nick back like a normal person, with a payment plan. He felt she should rise above this thing with Victoria, like the phoenix she named the hotel after.

Phyllis admitted Kevin got her to think about some things. Part of her wished he’d given her the dirt though. She said it was like there was an angel and devil on her shoulders. She could keep the life she created secure and safe, but on the other hand, Victoria was a horrible person who deserved revenge. She said that if she opted for the devil, she wanted him to know he wasn’t the only game in town. Sighing, he said she didn’t have to look for another game, because she’d already won.

Nick got to the hotel and saw Kevin and Phyllis in the lounge. He said he thought Phyllis didn’t have plans. Kevin said they were just talking. He left. Nick said Christian was staying with a friend, and his dinner with Nikki ended sooner than anticipated because they didn’t see eye to eye. He said he told Nikki he didn’t agree with the way Victoria treated Phyllis. Phyllis didn’t want to cause conflict between him and his mom. He said he and Nikki would be fine – she’d have to accept he was standing by Phyllis’s side, no matter what. Phyllis felt lucky to have Nick.

Mariah and Faith were at Crimson Lights, and they were going to do something together before Mariah took Faith to Nick’s. Faith got a text asking why she wasn’t at the party – was it past her bedtime? Faith told Mariah that her friend was having a party, but she wasn’t in the mood. Adam walked in, and Mariah asked why he was there. He was getting coffee. Faith jumped up from the table and demanded to know why Adam was still in town – Sharon told her he was leaving. Adam said plans changed. Faith ordered him to change them back. She snapped that he didn’t deserve to live in the same town as all the people he hurt.

Adam said he and Chelsea had a setback, which he didn’t wish to discuss, but they’d be gone soon and everyone could go on with their lives. Faith yelled that Sharon already had – she was on her honeymoon. Adam was happy for Sharon. “Who cares if you’re happy?” Faith asked. She didn't care how he felt, and she said Sharon didn’t either. According to Faith, Sharon married a great guy, and Faith hoped she never had to see Adam again. She stormed off. Mariah told Adam to leave.

Mariah found Faith on the patio. She said Adam didn’t deserve one ounce of Faith’s energy. She asked if Faith was okay. Faith was fine. She just needed to vent. She claimed she wanted a brownie, so Mariah went get it. As soon as Mariah left, Faith texted Jordan to ask if she was free. Faith said she could sneak away from her sister, because she needed a friend right now.

Adam went home. The nurse told him that Chloe was gone and Chelsea was asleep. He got a text from Victor who was just checking in. He didn’t respond.
