Amanda went to Devon’s and told him how Naya pulled out of their meeting. After all this time, Amanda wasn’t surprised she meant nothing to her biological mother, but she thought she’d at least get one conversation from her. Amanda didn’t know what she expected. She always knew in her head that Naya could change her mind. “What was she going to say anyway? ‘I’m sorry’? And that was the best case scenario,” she stated. Amanda said an apology wouldn’t change how she felt. Devon asked how she felt. She was angry and frustrated. He asked if she hurt, and she said yes. It took a lot for her to reach out to Naya, then to have her back out like that… She didn't know what to do next. Going back to Illinois to confront Naya seemed wrong, and making demands wouldn’t get her anywhere. She hoped Naya would have a change of heart.

Billy and Lily were in her office working when Adam burst in and asked what they planned to do with the information on Chelsea. They didn’t know what he was talking about. He said they obviously knew about Chelsea’s condition. He had reporters hounding him for a comment. He said if they wanted to come after him, do so, but don’t exploit Chelsea’s condition. He felt that they already did enough damage with the first article – look what happened to Faith. He felt that what happened to Chelsea was on Billy and Lily. Lily said Adam shouldn’t be here, and he shouldn’t be throwing around accusations. Adam said that if Billy hadn’t threatened to do another hit piece, Adam wouldn’t have been forced to go to the lengths he did to find out what Billy dug up. Billy asked if Adam was admitting to cutting the power to the building the day Chelsea fell in the elevator. Adam contended that he had to take action since Billy was obsessed with ruining his life, without concern for who got caught in the crossfire. Billy said Adam was the reason Chelsea fell, which meant he was the reason she fell in the hospital. Adam turned to Lily, because he thought she was rational. He said his son didn’t know how serious Chelsea’s condition was, and he wanted to keep it that way. Adam left.

“You’re not seriously thinking of doing this are you?,” Lily asked Billy. She told him that doing a story on Chelsea was never on the table. He said it didn’t mean it couldn’t be now. She didn’t want to exploit Chelsea. He didn’t either, but he said that Adam just admitted he cut the power, which made him responsible for her condition. She said they had other stories that were bigger priorities. He asked if Adam got to dictate their stories now. She contended that he needed to take a step back. She didn’t think he’d even considered the broader implications because he was so focused on getting something on Adam. He maintained that it wasn’t about that. He said they just talked about being arbiters of the truth, and the truth was that Adam was responsible for Chelsea’s condition. He couldn’t think of one good reason they should give him a pass. She reminded him that he asked her to keep him in check if he started making things too personal. That was exactly what she was trying to do.

Amanda walked in on Lily and Billy’s spat. He couldn’t believe she didn’t think he could separate his personal feelings from business. She said to prove her wrong. Amanda asked what the argument was about. Billy said it wasn’t an argument, it was a spirited discussion. “No. We’re arguing,” Lily countered. He said they were considering a story involving Adam. Lily said Billy was considering the story. Billy told Amanda all about Chelsea’s stroke and Adam’s visit. Billy said Adam revealed he cut the power in the building so he could break into Billy’s hotel room. Lily said it wasn’t a full confession. Billy felt that Adam basically admitted it. Lily said that wouldn’t hold up in court, but Billy told her that it didn’t have to. He noted that Adam was blaming him for Chelsea’s head injury. Amanda thought that sounded pretty crazy, and she said Adam was incapable of taking responsibility. Amanda didn’t think they should do another story on Adam, though. She said even though Billy’s involvement was peripheral, he was still part of the chain of events, and people could get the perception that ChanceComm was creating news. Lily didn’t think running the story would be the decent thing to do. Amanda left. Lily didn’t want Connor to get hurt. She said what if he were responsible for hurting Victoria – would he want Johnny and Katie to know? He asked if she was okay with Adam ruining people’s lives. She noted that she didn’t answer her question. It made her think Adam might be right about Billy being obsessed. He saw no reason to continue this talk, so he left.

Devon went to see Lily, because she’d sent a text that made him think she was going through something. She told him she had a disagreement with Billy over a story. He asked why that bugged her, when she’d gone through that before. She said she and Billy had become involved. She said when she first started working with Billy, things were contentious, and they still kind of were, but now it was about more than just work. Devon had experience with that because he worked with Hilary. He knew it wasn’t easy to keep the professional and personal separate. She was coming to terms with the fact that she’d gotten involved with a complicated person. He said that being with someone like that could be fun, though – someone unpredictable, passionate and tense. He missed that sometimes. She asked if he was saying he should be grateful that she had Billy in her life. He said that if that’s what she took away from this talk, it didn’t matter what he thought.

Devon had a dream. He woke up on his couch and saw a familiar face. “Hilary?” he said. “Guess again,” Amanda told him. She slowly removed the belt holding her blazer closed and revealed a slinky tank top. He snapped awake.

In her room, Amanda called Naya again. She knew this was a difficult time for both of them. She hoped Naya would meet her. She didn’t want anything. She didn’t want to pass blame. She just wanted to talk. There was a knock on the door, and Amanda answered it. “Leave my mother alone,” Imani ordered.

Adam went home. He asked the nurse if Chelsea got any sleep. She hadn’t. Adam stressed the importance of sleep to Chelsea. He told her that the specialist was on her way to the house. Victor went all out to make sure Chelsea got the best treatment. He told her that Dr. Cavett said it was a good idea to bring Chelsea home where she’d be comfortable. He said she should focus on getting well, and he’d do everything else. Dr. Cavett arrived and told Chelsea she’d had success treating mild and severe strokes. It was too soon to tell where Chelsea’s stroke fell on that scale. She promised to be honest and straightforward with Chelsea. Dr. Cavett wanted to do some tests to assess Chelsea and determine her next stage of therapy. Chelsea consented with a blink.

The tests were over, and Adam told Chelsea she did a good job. Dr. Cavett said physical therapy was a demanding process and it took time and patience. She could tell Chelsea had a strong will, and that was half the battle. She left. Adam told Chelsea that she could do this – they could do it together. He reminded her they always said they could get through anything as a team. He loved her and promised to stay by her side. Connor called. Chelsea teared up as she heard Adam lie and say she was sleeping when Connor asked to talk to her.

Jack and Sally crossed paths at Jabot. She thanked him for putting in a good word with Summer. He said all he did was remind Summer that Theo was the one badmouthing Sally and request that Sally be judged by actions and not by reputation. Sally said she and Summer had a nice talk, and they might even become friends, all thanks to Jack. He was glad she and Summer agreed to a do-over. He hated for Summer to have a bad opinion of Sally for no reason. Sally said that she’d had her moments. She told him that once she tried to boost her social media presence by starting a food fight with Steffy Forrester. She showed him a photo. He asked if it got her more followers. She said yes, and he said it was all worth it. She said once she disguised herself as a caterer and crashed a Forrester wedding and got her face shoved into a cake. He said they all had moments they wished they could do over. She doubted his were as dumb as hers. He said a few years ago, he went to a bachelor party for Michael at a bar, and a man Michael sent to prison was there. It turned into a brawl and everyone went to jail. The next day, there was an awful mugshot of him on the front page of the paper. He didn’t want her to look it up. She grinned and promised not to. He smiled and said he didn’t believe her.

In Summer’s room, Kyle commented on the large number of clothes Summer was packing for her trip to L.A. Summer said that it was easier for guys, because they only needed a suit and a couple shirts. He noted that she wasn’t actually going on a business trip. She said that a trip to check out the feasibility of a JCV store in L.A. had been on Lauren’s agenda for awhile now. He said they both knew the real reason Summer was going to L.A. was to dig into Sally’s past. She conceded that point, but she said she needed proof that Sally was a con artist. She wanted him to go to L.A. with her. He couldn’t just take off work to help dig into Sally’s past. She was sure there was Jabot work on the west coast he could do. She mentioned she was meeting with Spencer Publications to talk about a possible advertising deal. Kyle asked if that had anything to do with the fact that Wyatt Spencer was Sally’s ex. Summer said it was a happy coincidence. She thought the idea of them going on a trip to L.A. was delicious. He was worried that if she dug into Sally’s life it’d get back to her, and it’d create an enemy where one might not exist.

Summer went to Jabot to tell Jack about her talk with Sally. He knew, and he approved. He hated to think she’d form a permanent opinion of Sally based on her disparaging remarks from Theo. He thought she and Sally could be friends, or at least that Sally would be valuable to Summer at Fenmore’s. Summer hoped Sally realized how lucky she was to have his support. She thought Sally was capable of looking out for herself though. He found Sally to be capable, driven and ambitious, which were all good qualities if they were channeled properly and if Sally didn’t get in her own way. He saw himself in Sally. His father had trouble with his wild side and was always wondering when Jack would stop taking shortcuts and grow up. He said he finally did. He said Summer knew something about that too. She agreed. He said that others supported and encouraged Summer and helped shape who she was. He felt that Sally needed guidance, and he thought that if he could channel her considerable drive into something positive, it’d be wonderful.

Billy ran into Jack at Society. Jack had been thinking about the people who reached out to them and gave them second chances they probably didn’t deserve. He couldn’t seem to figure out when they officially stopped blowing those chances. Billy didn’t think he’d stopped blowing them. He said he’d had a million, and he screwed most of them up. This time it had been different. He’d been happy, but his hatred for Adam kept getting in the way. Jack told Billy not to do whatever he was planning. Billy said that his animosity toward Adam lead to him being charged with attempted murder, and he still couldn’t let it go. He said he kept getting to the point where he was willing to throw everything away just to see Adam miserable. Jack thought a psychiatrist would say that Billy was letting Adam control him. Billy admitted a psychiatrist did say that, and she was right. He felt like he was stuck in an abusive relationship. Jack was willing to help talk Billy through this. Billy thought he had to figure it out on his own, because it was getting in the way of something he didn’t want to lose.

Billy went back to his suite. Lily dropped by to apologize. She said she admired his passion for getting out the truth. She vowed to do a better job looking at things from his perspective. He acknowledged he had a blind spot when it came to Adam, and it needed to stop. He’d thought about her question from earlier and no, he didn’t want Johnny and Katie to know about some things in his past. He admitted he’d put their mother in danger more than once, and he didn’t want them to think of him as that person, because he wasn’t that guy anymore. He didn’t want to hurt Chelsea and Connor. Adam was another issue that he had to figure out. He said that ChanceComm would never do another story on Adam. It wasn’t worth it. She said that was magnificent. She thought Jill put them together because she could help slow him down so he had to take time to think. He appreciated her being that person. She believed their relationship was affecting their business, and she thought they had to ask themselves if they could work together and be together. He said they could do this by respecting each other. He knew they’d disagree and argue, but he said it was good that they’d challenge each other. He added they could make up too, and he thought they should do that immediately, on that bed. She smiled.

Sally ran into Kyle in the hotel lobby. She assumed Summer mentioned that they were starting fresh and moving past any misunderstandings. She wished Theo had never stirred up trouble. Kyle said it was just like Theo to drop a bomb like that on his way out of town. He said, for a minute, he wondered if Sally was that diabolical. She was glad they were able to clear things up. She smiled, and he asked what she was smiling about. She said that everyone thought she had a hidden agenda, when the truth was she’d been clear about what she wanted from the beginning. She asked if he remembered the conversation they had when she first came to town. He remembered her saying that to be successful you had to be able to name your goal as specifically as possible. She said it seemed she made an impression. She said it worked too – first you visualized what you wanted, then you started planning for it. He said those were words to live by. She smiled and left, and he looked suspicious.

Summer came back to the hotel and told Kyle that Sally had his dad completely snowed. She said he’d gone on and on, and it was all she could do not to throw up. Kyle said Sally couldn’t be trusted, and Summer was startled by his new attitude. He said he saw Sally in action and he could tell she was working him. He said Sally was good, and she could turn that charm on and off like a faucet. He was sure Sally had done this before. Summer wanted to go to L.A. to get proof Sally wasn’t the innocent she was pretending to be and that she was playing Jack and Lauren. He wanted to go with her. “Let’s find out who the real Sally Spectra is” he said.

Sally went to Society. She spotted Jack and was on her way to see him when Coco called to see how things were doing. Sally glanced at Jack and said things were going surprisingly well.
