Adam had trashed his penthouse at some point. He called the hospital for an update. No change. He was willing to take any safety protocols, but he warned there’d be hell to pay if they didn’t let him visit Chelsea.

Victor and Nikki visited Victoria at Newman after they got back from London. They had a wonderful time. Nikki didn’t think she’d be able to convince Victor to go on vacation again any time soon, but he swore he’d go anywhere with her. Victoria told them about Chelsea’s ruptured aneurysm and stroke. Victor tried to call Adam a couple times, but he didn’t answer. Nikki and Victor realized that was why Adam tried to call Victor when they were in London and why he didn’t answer when Victor called back. Victor wanted to find Adam. Nikki understood that, but she said given everything that happened and Adam’s decision to cut himself off from the family, it could be disastrous if Victor got involved. Victor said he was Adam’s father, and he was going to be there for him. He left.

Victoria’s heart went out to Chelsea, but she found it hard to muster up sympathy for Adam. Nikki felt the same way, but her concern had to be for Victor. Victoria commented on how happy and carefree her parents looked when they first walked in. Nikki said they had a wonderful time in London, and they saw Noah, but as soon as they got back, Victor was in the thick of it, ready to move mountains for Adam, who had disdain for them all. They were sure Victor had already forgiven Adam for everything. Victoria was sure Adam would milk this for sympathy. Nikki thought they should be praying for Chelsea to recover and reunite with Connor and Adam. Victoria looked forward to them leaving town for good.

Adam let Victor into the penthouse. Victor said he heard Chelsea was in the hospital. At first, Adam wondered how Victor knew, then he said never mind – Victor knew everything. Adam explained that he wasn’t allowed to see Chelsea, supposedly because of the risk of infection after the surgery. Victor asked if Adam thought there was more to it. Adam didn’t know what to think. He wanted specialists to see Chelsea, but he was hitting brick walls. Victor said he’d paid for many a wing at that hospital, and he was sure Chelsea was in one of them. He called the chief of staff and said he was going to have a team of specialists deal with Chelsea’s case.

Adam was grateful and relieved. He said things happened so quickly that he didn’t know what to do. Victor said Adam did the right thing by reaching out to his father. Victor believed Chelsea would pull through. Adam wondered if having the woman he loved suffer was his karma. Victor didn’t think that was how the universe worked. Adam thought it was time for some deep contrition on his part. Victor felt that soul searching and rectifying your problems was a positive thing. Adam wondered if he’d ever get it right. Victor was sure he would. The chief of staff called Victor back to say that Chelsea could have visitors. Adam couldn’t thank Victor enough.

Adam went to the hospital and saw Chelsea. She looked at him with tears in her eyes.

At ChanceComm, Lily, Billy and Amanda discussed an article on Chance’s shooting and the aftermath. Lily thought it had the chance to be powerful. Lily demurred when Billy said that the article would call her the true hero of it all. He was adamant that they had to tell the truth. She thought they’d agreed to leave her out of it. He said he never agreed to that. “A woman risks it all to get game-changing evidence to the police,” he said. She felt it’d look egotistical to paint a ChanceComm CEO as a super detective. Lily wanted a vote. Billy agreed and asked Amanda what she thought. Amanda said Billy needed to rethink this idea unless he wanted to destroy all the credibility the company had.

Amanda was happy Lily and Billy were seeing each other, and she thought that Billy essentially writing a public love letter would be wonderful for them, but this article needed to be about serious topics, not their relationship. He understood that, but he didn’t think they should forget that the writer they hired to do the article on Adam was now in jail for trying to shoot him. Amanda thought they should do another article. He asked if it’d be on Adam, and they said no. Amanda said it should be on Billy, because he was just as deeply involved, and more easy to sympathize with.

Lily loved Amanda’s idea. They both thought the readers would have more respect for the brand if they saw the co-CEO getting blasted with hard questions, just like the subject of other articles. Amanda said they could show how the fallout from Billy’s vengeance came back to bite him and almost cost him his freedom. He thought it sounded borderline painful. Lily said this could be his chance to tell his own story. He admitted he had a reputation as a screw up, and he said this could be his redemption arc. He still wanted to make Lily the hero, and she said no. He said they could paint her as being driven by her desire to protect the company and to uphold ChanceComm’s relentless pursuit of the truth. She liked that.

Billy said this conversation had done wonders for his ego. Amanda was sure that, with an ego as big as his, he’d be fine. Lily also said she wasn’t concerned with Billy’s ego being bruised. He went to tell the reporter that the angle of the story had changed. Amanda said that this story would only work because Billy had changed so much over the past few months. Amanda thought that Lily was the reason Billy changed. Lily said she only brought out what was already there. Lily asked what was going on in Amanda’s life. Amanda said she’d buy Lily a coffee so they could talk. At Crimson Lights, Amanda confided that she saw her mother and half sibling, but she couldn’t bring herself to introduce herself. She said Devon thought that she’d be plagued with questions if she didn’t contact them. Lily didn’t realize Amanda talked to Devon about this. Amanda said he drove out to Wilmette with her. She hoped Lily didn’t mind his involvement. Lily was glad that Amanda had support. Lily thought Devon was right – it was important and worth the risk to get answers, and she thought that Amanda was strong enough to handle whatever happened.

Victoria bumped into Billy at Society. She told him that the kids wanted to know if he was coming to the winter festival with them. He said of course. She asked how his trip with Lily went. He said they didn’t go, because Lily convinced him he’d never forgive himself if he didn’t make it back in time for Christmas. He knew that was true, especially given how worried Johnny was. He was surprised Johnny put all that together, just from overhearing Billy and Victoria’s conversation. Victoria said Johnny was at the age where he listened in on adult talks. Billy thought that Victoria would’ve covered for him and reassured the kids he wouldn’t let them down. She said she wanted to prepare the children just in case something went wrong and Billy didn’t show up. “Wow, okay,” Billy replied. “You wouldn’t do that would you? Use Johnny to get me to cancel my trip with Lily?,” he asked. She asked how he could imagine she’d have an ulterior motive like that. He said that a few years ago, when she knew he was spending the night with Phyllis, she called him to say Katie was having a hard time sleeping. Offended, she pointed out that children did have a hard time sleeping sometimes. She asked if he seriously thought she was using their children in a plot to derail whatever romantic moment he might be having with whatever woman. It was the most egotistical thing she’d ever heard. “And I thought you were cool with me seeing Lily,” he said. She was fine with him seeing whoever he wanted, but she wasn’t cool with these ridiculous accusations. He apologized and said things worked out – the kids had a great time, and he had a wonderful time with Lily in town. Victoria said she was glad.

Billy and Lily met in her office. She asked if he was really okay with the article being about him. He thought it’d be good for him and good for their relationship. He said she was about to learn all his deep dark secrets. She couldn’t wait, she joked. She thought it was brave that he was willing to go under the microscope like this. He thought it was brave that she was standing by him. She wanted him to know she’d always be there for him.

Amanda steeled herself and called Naya. Naya was just coming home. She answered. Clearly recognizing the number, she asked what Amanda wanted. Amanda introduced herself. Naya asked if she knew Amanda. Bursting into tears, Amanda said she was the daughter that Naya didn’t give to her cousin, Rose. Stunned, Naya grabbed onto the door frame for support. Amanda said she’d like to meet Naya.

Kyle ran into Sally at Society. She said she felt the chill in the air when he walked in. “You’re not going to start avoiding me now too, are you?,” she asked. “Too?,” he questioned. She said Summer was the consummate professional at work, but she barely tolerated Sally. Sally was willing to take part of the blame for screwing things up. She asked if there was any way this could be fixed. Sally said that Theo was 75% at fault for what happened. She stated that Theo told Summer that Sally was after her job and her man. She said Theo told her that Summer wanted her fired, so when Summer came at her, she’d lashed out. Kyle asked if Sally wasn’t after him or his job. Sally said not at all, no offense. He didn’t take any. He asked when she realized Theo was just causing trouble. She said she saw Summer in action at work, and it was clear she wasn’t threatened by Sally, so there would be no reason for her to try and get her fired. He knew that she had aspirations beyond being an assistant. Sally wanted to rise through the ranks at Fenmore’s, but she planned to do that by proving herself, not by taking Summer’s job. She said she was all about women supporting women.

Jack found Summer in the Jabot boardroom. He wanted to talk about Sally. She respected him, but when it came to Sally, she hoped he’d skip the spirited defense. He thought Sally was worth his time, and he hoped Summer would hear him out. She was always willing to listen, even though she thought he was wrong about Sally. She explained that Sally admitted she wanted to take her job. He noted that he’d heard Theo was the one who warned her about Sally. Theo was known to be vengeful and untrustworthy. Summer didn’t defend Theo, but she said that didn’t mean he was wrong about Sally. She didn’t think Jack would be on Sally’s side if he heard the way she accused Summer of gaining her jobs through nepotism. He said Sally admitted to overreacting. He thought they’d all said things they regretted. He wasn’t asking Summer to be Sally’s best friend, just to give her another chance.

Later, Jack finished a meeting with Lauren and Sally. He then announced that Summer was open to having a conversation with Sally. Sally said that was amazing. Jack said the ball was in Sally’s court now. Lauren added that Summer could be a valuable ally to Sally. Sally appreciated Lauren and Jack’s support. Lauren said not to let them down. Sally promised to do her best to win Summer over.

Back at Society, Kyle told Summer about his conversation with Sally. Summer grumbled that Sally was on a mission to charm all the Abbott men. She told him about her talk with Jack. She thought Jack was wrong about Sally. She asked Kyle what he thought she should do about Sally. He said maybe she could keep Sally close. Summer assumed Kyle thought that if she spent more time with Sally, she’d realize she was wrong about Sally. She couldn’t believe he was on Sally’s side. He swore he was always on Summer’s side. She asked why he was telling her to befriend her nemesis. He said that if she did that, she’d be the first to know when Sally was planning something. He added that if Sally was sincere, then it would be nice for Summer to be get along with her boss’s assistant. She asked if he really thought there was a chance that Sally was a poor misunderstood girl from L.A. trying to understand their Wisconsin ways. He didn’t know what the deal was, but he thought the best way to find out was to get Sally to drop her defenses. She said it’d be like defending a snake. At that moment, Sally texted Summer asking to get together. Summer reluctantly set up a meeting.

Back at Jabot, Lauren though that the way Jack handled Sally and Summer’s thing was miraculous. He said the outcome remained to be seen. Lauren shared his instinct to give Sally the benefit of the doubt. She found Sally to be energetic and talented. He thought that maybe Sally and Summer clashed because they were so much alike. They reminisced about pulling stunts to get ahead when they were young and ambitious. She marveled that they’d now become role models. She sensed there was more to the story that Sally wasn’t telling, but she thought Sally had potential. He agreed. Lauren felt loyal to Sally’s great aunt. She did wonder why Sally came to Genoa City, but she figured Sally would tell them in time. Jack believed everyone had the right to get a fresh start.

Sally and Summer met at Crimson Lights. Sally said she was deeply sorry. She never meant to let things get so crazy. That wasn’t who she was. Summer asked how things got so out of control. Sally blamed Theo. She said she was foolish to believe him when he said Summer was trying to get her fired. Sally said she wasn’t after Summer’s job. She was happy where she was, learning from Lauren, and while Kyle was hot, he wasn’t her type. Sally said she wasn’t a job snatching man stealer, she was just trying to figure out where she belonged and do the best she could. Summer replied sympathetically. Sally said she thought she and Summer could work well together. She’d even like it if they could become real friends. Summer raised an eyebrow about them being BFFs already. Sally said that one day, they might all be hanging out at the bar with coworkers after a rough day at Fenmore’s and after a Dua Lipa duet, Summer might think to herself that she really liked Sally.

Summer went to Jabot to see Kyle. He said he already got a text from Sally saying that the women buried the hatchet. “I’ll tell you where I’d like to bury it,” Summer replied. She said that Sally almost had her, then she poured it on a little thick, and now Summer was convinced Theo was telling the truth. He asked what convinced her. She said Sally was being fake sweet and even said something about doing Dua Lipa karaoke. She said she took his advice and pretended to buy Sally’s act. She wanted to know more about Sally, so she was going to fly to L.A. for a reconnaissance mission.
