Sharon removed the police tape from Crimson Lights' door and entered the coffeehouse, despite Mariah's contention that it was too soon for her to go back to work. Sharon tensed when she walked up to the spot where she'd been attacked. Mariah made another unsuccessful attempt to convince Sharon to leave. Sharon felt well enough to work and was confident that her attacker wouldn't be back. Mariah noted that Chelsea was long gone, but Sharon said there was no proof that she did it. Mariah felt bad for Nick, but she was glad that Chelsea wasn't cruel enough to tear Christian from his father. Mariah thought it'd be great to feature Chelsea's story on the Hilary Hour so the viewers could take part in the search, but Sharon asked her not to. While Sharon hated what Chelsea did, she didn't hate Chelsea. Sharon stated that Chelsea treated Sharon with respect and gave her a job when the rest of the town treated her like a pariah. She didn't want to be the reason Chelsea felt trapped. Sharon said she didn't feel she had a right to judge anyone, since she had kept Nick from the child he thought was dead and robbed him of precious time with Christian. Mariah countered that Mariah and Sharon tried to learn from their mistakes, while Chelsea just ran.

Victor was bothered by the silence at the ranch, so he told Nikki that he was going out. Victor was determined not to let Chelsea take his family from him. Nikki was glad they still had Christian. Victor was concerned; Chelsea had allowed him to visit the boys, but he wasn't sure if Nick would limit his access to Christian. Nikki assumed Victor planned to go to the penthouse, and she advised against it. Victor revealed that he had a plan in mind, but it didn't involve seeing Nick.

At the penthouse, Nick ripped up an old card Chelsea gave to him. Nikki came over to check on Nick. He was troubled by all the upheaval in Christian's life; he'd already had three mothers, and while he didn't remember Sage and Sharon, Chelsea had just abandoned him. Nikki looked at the positive and noted that Nick would be a constant in Christian's life. Nick confided that the police had been in and out of the penthouse looking for evidence and there was even talk of the DA seizing the place. Nikki tried to convince Nick to move back to the ranch and live in the tack house while Abby was gone. Nick wasn't interested in being Victor's tenant, and he didn't think it was right to pack up Abby's belongings while she was gone, just as Victor did to Nick. Nikki contended that Victor adored Christian, and Nick although he wouldn't admit it. She explained that Victor was hurt because Christian was missing. Nick said that Victor didn't deserve Nikki. Nick wasn't swayed by Nikki's argument, and he refused to go back to the ranch.

JT was sent reeling by a letter from Mac's lawyer. She wanted full custody of their kids. JT couldn't believe it – he thought that they were going to be putting the best interest of the kids' first. Victoria noted that she'd felt the same way after he took Reed away. JT said that he didn't deserve to lose his kids just because he made a mistake with Reed. Victoria agreed and assured JT that she was on his side. Victoria suggested that JT talk with Mac and convince her that they both wanted what was best for their children, but JT snapped that it wouldn't work. Victoria felt like JT was cutting her out, and she thought that was counterproductive. JT reluctantly revealed that Mac asked for full custody because he moved in with Victoria. According to JT, he'd talked to Mac, and she thought that he and Victoria were moving too fast. Victoria felt responsible because she was the one who made the suggestion to move in. She asked if he wanted to move out, and he said no – being with her was all he wanted. He went to see his lawyer. Reed came downstairs and was on his way to community service, when Victoria sat him down for a talk. Reed felt for his younger siblings when he heard about the upcoming custody battle, but he wasn't surprised because he assumed all divorces were acrimonious. Victoria told him that wasn't true.

Victoria asked Reed if there was tension between JT and Mac when he lived there. Reed didn't want to discuss it, but Victoria told him that she was trying to help JT. Reed admitted he didn't have any special insight because he wasn't home often. Reed had felt like JT, Mac and their kids were a family and that he was an outsider. Later, Nikki came by, and she and Victoria talked about Chelsea leaving Christian outside alone in the cold. Nikki asked Victoria to bring the little kids to visit the ranch and to convince Reed to come along, if possible. She thought the youthful presence would be good for her and Victor. Victoria agreed. Victoria brought up JT and Mac's custody issues and told Nikki that Mac had become vindictive and had apparently made Reed feel unwelcome. Victoria decided to call Mac, but Nikki told her to stay out of it.

Phyllis and Billy were at home, and Phyllis was trying to come up with ways to keep Sharon from telling Nick the truth about Christian. She asked Billy to help her come up with something to blackmail Sharon with. She hoped that maybe Sharon had shared a secret with Billy during their fling, or Victoria had told him something Sharon had said. Billy told Phyllis that he wasn't going to help her. He noted that all of Sharon's misdeeds had already been exposed. Billy believed the truth about Christian would eventually come out and that Nick would be even more upset that Phyllis, Billy and Sharon had been lying to him the whole time. Victor dropped by and thanked Phyllis for warning his family about Chelsea's intention to grab the kids and run. He vowed to bring Connor back to the family where he belonged. Phyllis said she'd do anything for Nick. Victor asked her to convince Nick to trust Victor around Christian. He noted that he'd done Phyllis a favor by returning the money to Fenmore's. Victor left. Phyllis wasn't happy that he'd come and made demands of her, however, she was inspired by the way he tried to bend people to his will. She decided to do the same thing with Sharon. Billy cautioned Phyllis against imitating Victor. He brought up what Victor had done to her and Jack and told her that there was no coming back once you sank to Victor's depths.

JT ordered Billy to watch it when they collided at the Club. Billy blamed JT for Phyllis's recent obsession with Chelsea. JT told Billy to man up and shut Phyllis down if he didn't like it. Billy called JT a tool. JT admitted he wasn't in a place to give advice about women, because Mac was going for full custody. Billy assumed that JT drove Mac to it. JT said she was doing this because he moved in with Victoria. Billy thought it was karmic retribution for JT taking Reed away.

After Nikki left, Victoria disregarded her advice and left a voice message for Mac, suggesting that they talk woman to woman. JT returned, and Victoria mentioned that she told Reed. JT was angry that she'd dropped this news on a kid. He said that this was none of Reed's business, or hers and that if he wanted Reed to know, he would've told him. Victoria admitted that JT was right.

Phyllis went to Crimson Lights and tried to pressure Sharon into silence. Sharon didn't want to deal with this right now. Phyllis told Sharon to suck it up – she got bonked on the head, not pushed down a flight of stairs resulting in a coma. Sharon argued that it was an accident. Phyllis felt that Sharon owed her, because she'd stolen months of Phyllis' life, and she wanted to be repaid with Sharon's silence. Phyllis thought Sharon wanted to tell Nick the truth so that she'd have an excuse to comfort him and get closer to him. They argued about what was best for Nick until he happened to arrive. Sharon told him how sorry she was about Chelsea. Feigning concern, Phyllis announced that Sharon should leave and get some rest. Sharon snapped that she was fine, then she turned her attention toward Nick. A desperate Phyllis grabbed Sharon's arm and said that she needed to go back to the hospital. They tussled, and Phyllis crashed into a table. Sharon yelled that Chelsea lied, and Phyllis wanted the lie to continue, but Sharon refused to lie to Nick again. She announced that Adam was Christian's father.
